This was my second year going to Edwin Does Taxes. I started a business a few years ago and had no idea what I was doing in terms of filing my taxes. Going to Edwin has been super helpful. If I am not sure about something I send him an email and he really helps clear things up so I can be ready when filing and get as many tax deductions as possible. For the longest time, we've been going to our parents' tax person but we got so annoyed last year that we knew it was time to look for another one. From the start, we were impressed on how easy it was to schedule an appointment and how everything was automated. Complete 360 to what we're accustomed to! When we got to our appointment, we were greeted by Edwin and he was very friendly. He took the time to get to know us and made sure the whole appointment was conversational and relaxed. He was also thorough in explaining how taxes work so we feel more prepared for next year. The price is pretty great too, half than what we've been paying all these years! Edwin is a really nice guy but needs to pay more attention to the details when he's completing taxes! My husband and I came for the first time to have our taxes done by Eddie since he had great yelp reviews but boy do I regret it. After we e-filed with Eddie and him telling us that we would get a refund of $1,000 back, we received a letter from the IRS stating that we had inputted a number wrong and were therefore only going to get back $300. We then emailed Eddie and asked him to research what happened and have yet to hear back from him! Due to his error we got less money than we thought we were. read more

He was by far the most reasonably priced that I found when I was asking around for prices on doing my taxes. He gave a simply flat rate. A Procrastinator's Confession - I had not filed my taxes in the last 4 years out of fear of the complexity (multiple missing W-2s and a bevy of 1099s) and the fear that I would owe several thousand dollars. After the state levied my bank account on three occasions (the state will clean out your savings/checking if they feel you owe them and BofA charges a fee of $100 each occasion to facilitate the auto-debit) suffice it to say... They finally got my attention. Enter Edwin. I found Edwin through Yelp after being humiliated by H and R Block and after a brief and free phone consultation we met. Very striking, punctual and professional his attention to detail kept my paperwork organized and more importantly kept me on task. Within a few days he had all 4 years completed and ready to sign. I worried extensibly for 36+ months over a problem that had I just outsourced, I could have focused my energies on my business. Bottom line is... You want someone like Edwin because you will be confident he will get the job completed quickly and accurately. As a result of his skill... I received a state refund check, which offset the funds they "procured" and covered much of his fee. Your mileage may vary.
