Maybe recommend maybe not. Mixed feelings a a leaning on may be not - I paid off a car loan through them so that was good. What was bad is a I had two international fraudulent charges and my internet provider's auto-payment got mixed up upon EECU correcting these two fraudulent charges and so EECU still owes me $117.64 since earlier this year! I've talked to Monica and Wendy at a couple different locations and Monica has tried to help but my money back has not been returned! I'm still out of my money set-up on my auto payment through them with the amount due to their mix up with having international fraudulent charges from Honk Kong. (?) ridiculous as banks are supposed to hold and distribute your Money as you wish not take it, you discuss the issue with them and not pay you back when it was their fault. Background: I got a car. I applied for loan at dealership. I have a high credit score (800+). I was offered a loan from EECU. At first I was like who the heck is EECU. I am not from around these parts as they say so had to look up this local credit union. Really very little info on this company after you make sure you get the right EECU. A warning flag in my book for a company that can be easily confused with other companies. I was honestly surprised with my score this was the company I got. Seemed like a high interest rate too. (I later find out the finance person at audi did not apply to any other institutions). Hmmmm... putting on tin foil hat)... potentially personal and business kickbacks/conflict of interest? So I get the loan and drive out after providing my insurance info etc... Fast forward a couple weeks. I get emails and calls from their insurance side that they needed to verify my insuraance (Banks and insurance should never be in same arena - I miss Frank and Dodd). Anyway, it is a time suck that used my valuable time from my job addressing issues that put the onus on me to solve when it should be EECU getting info from my insurance company. Well hold your horses you say! I should provide info. Sure but I did. In the end, it was the same doc that I originally submitted when I applied for loan but after multiple instances of calling, waiting, being told to drive to ft worth to visit local office etc... The interesting part is I had to show proof of insurance to be enbe able to drive car off dealership lot. It seems like the info from EECU credit union did not share the same info with the EECU insurance sibling. Anyway. So I get my paper work with payment schedule from EECU in the mail. Remember this part. So a day ago, I get email stating my address has been updated and if I did not make this change then contact right away. We'll I didn't make the change. So contact I did. Also I was suspicious of this email since I did not make change so I called EECU from website number instead of phone number in email (I like fishing too but not phishing) I contact EECU and verify my info and learn my address is totally wrong. I ask how this can happen and was told I never provided the correct mailing address. Ummmmm...remember the payment mail I mentioned earlier? So that response of blaming the customer clearly failed. (Adjust tin foil hat)... I think EECU went into my records during the whole verify insurance debacle I spoke about earlier and someone fat lingered or put info I to wrong field. So I go online and the value in my address is clearly wrong. Heck, it wasn't even sensible aka fat finger typing. So I updated and hit submit but then notice the street address field cuts off the field value because it was limited by too short of character length? I work with data. Did this local credit union hire their nephew to design their website? Not looking to tear down any business but based on events experienced personally by me. I would not recommend banking with EECU. Honestly the lack of IT safeguards and internal data validation is scary for a finance institution. I am not talking about making it harder for customers to access their info rather internally within EECU - in a productive way that does not hinder employees to do their work. So in closing, I can not wait to finish my loan and closeout all accounts with EECU. I simply feel EECU does not meet the standards to keep my info and by extension, money, secure. Update: I intentionally did not read other reviews prior to posting mine as to reduce bias. I now see reviews that are frighteningly in alignment with my experience. Including the bank/insurance relationship. Honestly given my experience, insurance business relationship, poor IT safeguards whether intentionally not wanting to pay for it or business does not have funds to afford (another warning sign), I am more confident my review is an accurate score given the type of business and significant potential risk to you. There are far better financial institutions with less risk and higher benefit to you and I. I will be re-assessing my current loan options honestly. read more

EECU Credit Union is a good bank with great loan deals and no hidden fees--highly recommend!

Bad policies. A car dealership gave me a much better interest rate AND approved me for more financing than EECU. This was after EECU did a hard credit check... and came back with a 799 credit score. I thought credit unions were supposed to be more supportive and customer-friendly than car dealerships. Guess I was wrong. read more

Suddenly locked out of our accounts for the weekend. Nobody to speak to and no notification at all as to why. The number given is only a recording and tells you the business hours, they are closed and hangs up. I really am angry that a bank can lock up my funds and have nobody available to speak to and no way to gain access! What if this were an emergency and I needed MY money?? Will be switching banks as soon as Monday rolls around to one with better availability and customer service. NO more small banks. read more

I spent the time to drive out to the EECU branch in Southlake to pay my auto loan since online chat nor the EECU rep that emailed me about the status of my loan would reply to any of my requests. I fixed the problem at the branch office on my side, with no help from EECU or notice prior to what was going on with my auto loan. I worked with Kevin Bass the branch manager in Southlake and a Jeff Hammond as well at the EECU main office. I was told someone would get back to me yesterday when I left the branch office so I would be able to log in and pay my account and move on, like I always have. This morning I am still unable to log in to my EECU account and pay my auto loan. Now my credit has been affected. I never heard from anyone as promised. Why is EECU customer service so poor? What does it take for someone at EECU to care about a customer? I have never done business with any company that does not want to be paid. read more

THIS IS YOUR WARNING!!! EECU auto loans are scams and should be avoided at all times. They hold the loan but an insurance company holds the rights to pick up your car should you ever get behind. I was behind but was working with them until out of no where my car was picked up. They said it was due to insurance I showed them I had insurance, then it became about my bank account and when I said sorry there's nothing I did to a bank account they can back with your past due. I never got 1 letter from EECU until we requested all correspondence from them. Bottom line if you're having problems with EECU file a complaint with NCUA and the Texas Attorney Generals office. read more
