I explained my problem to him. JM looked at the boots I had on and immediately identified some issues. He brought my another pair in a different size just to see the fit. He then offered a half size. They were perfect! They were a half size larger than I normally wear and a width different than I normally wear. Thanks to JM I left with a pair of boots that I really appreciate. I was helped by an employee named Denzil (I think I'm spelling that right) and he was not only exceptionally knowledgeable he was very patient and stuck with me for probably 35 minutes as I asked all sorts of questions because as I said - I have no clue what I'm doing. He demonstrated several leather craft skills for me and checked to make sure I was picking up the correct things I needed and that a couple kits I decided to buy had all the needed parts. The cobbler carefully measured the length they needed to be. These are those belts that are ribbon on a woven background-- the American flag,university colors, etc. He will shorten the belts and hand sew the leather back on. Price Was very reasonable. Will be taking more belts to him to be shortened. Remember: if you are rude and demanding, that's likely what you will receive in return. Politeness is lacking these days. I'll give a short account of my visit: - Arrived and began looking at suits with my fiancee to get a feel for the color we wanted for our wedding. - A gentleman named Rob came over and offered to take me to the section with my size, and had me put on a few jackets. My fiancee had many questions, and Rob could not have been more helpful answering each. - Rob was terrifically respectful about mentioning the price of each suit, as well as more expensive options. I didn't feel slightly pressured to pay more. My budget was actually pretty high, but I was pleased with the way he handled it (a younger me with less money would have been happy). - Rob spent over an hour with me, helping me try on suits, answering my fiancee's questions, showing me suit fabrics (I'm going to have a custom suit made for my wedding), and eventually marking up the two suits I bought for work. Overall, I felt like I was the most important customer in the store. I will be a lifelong customer if everybody treats their customers like Rob did. Bonus: Rob mentioned that they would do the tailoring for my groomsmen's suits if we purchased them from a more affordable chain (most live out of town, and have more modest budgets), to make sure the fit is right.
