We managed to get the last place to sit. What I ordered: all I got was the feta fries. They were less than 4€ and were delicious! They were perfectly crisp, seasoned, and had the perfect amount of feta on them. I have no idea about the other dishes, but I would go back alone just for the fries! I stumbled upon Egeo as it was one of the few restaurants open in Lavapies during the siesta. And I am SO lucky that I did. Egeo is such a great break from Spanish food. I love you tortilla española, but I can only eat so many eggs. I ordered the hamburger suvlaki, the cheese fries, and my boyfriend got the pork suvlaki. All were delicious and so cheap. My favorite was the hamburger suvlaki because it's a mix of both ground up beef and lamb meat. The mustard and egg were an interesting, but GENIUS combination. I'm drooling just thinking about it. The pork suvlaki was also delicious, and I loved that it included tzatziki sauce. However, it tasted like a plain gyro and wasn't as unique as the hamburger version. The cheese fries were also great, but could have been more crunchy and had some kind of sauce over them as feta makes everything pretty dry. Overall, a great experience. I would recommend Egeo to anyone who wants a cheap and delicious break from Spanish food. read more

It was so nice to take a break from tapas and grab some Greek food! Really cute spot and the food was good too! I had the Greek salad and Greek fries. The salad didn't have any kind of leaves which was odd for me. The fries were ok but usually I like the cheese melted in a bit and there was none of that. There seem to be a few reviews here about food poisoning so I wanted to add my experience. My husband and I came to this restaurant, somewhere we have been many times before, after a movie. We commented that the fries seemed a little lukewarm and not fresh and we regret not listening to our initial thoughts. We have been held up in our apartment for the last day and a half puking our guts out from obvious food poisoning. It was the last thing we ate before this started happening the following morning. They should be way more careful about handling their food and make sure things aren't sitting out for a long time before serving it to customers. We really liked this place and were regulars but we won't be back and caution others to be careful. read more

Lovely little place. The fries with feta cheese are amazing. The platters/raciónes are fantastic. The price is very good for the amount of food they give. The wraps are big and filling. They also have a unique variety of drinks. The service is decent paced. The only downside is that the place is small and you might be waiting for several minutes before you get a atbel. read more

After seeing good reviews I decided to give it a try but I was not impressed. I bought two different souvlaki in pita ("sandwich"), one with pork (Iberian skewer) and one with chicken (kotopoulo). Each consisted of very thick pita bread-wrap, single meat skewer, 2 slices of tomato, some chopped lettuce and tzatziki sauce. For the price of €3.60, each. The taste was acceptable but not as good as what you can get in any mediocre souvlaki/gyros takeaway in Greece (I ate dozens of these around Greece). But I guess it's hard to find that standard anywhere outside of Greece. On top of that, 1/3 of the one with pork consisted of chewy, fat chunks that were impossible to munch through and had to be spit out. The chicken one was better, only slightly fat but easy to bite. Both souvlaki-pitas lacked potatoes inside (patates), which is strange as it is core ingredient in any souvlaki-pita fastfood. Tzatziki sauce and pita bread were very tasty. I tend to test places by tasting their simple takeaway dishes first (if they have such option). If they fail with simple menu, then there is usually no point in trying more complex dish or platter (that use the same ingredients). I have not tried other dishes so maybe there are better, or maybe it was just unlucky go as other reviews seem to be positive. read more

My girlfriend and I came here on our first evening in Madrid. We had a late arrival and didn't want to wander too far from our hotel. It is AMAZING. service is excellent, the food is great and really cheap. We had the suvlakis of the hamburguesa and chorizos criollos, both were fantastic and super filling. If you think you'll have room, go for the patatas fritas with feta cheese. Heaven. We've since come back a few times for a reliable meal after a long day of sight seeing :) read more
