Yes! Come here! I just love how you can find excellent food in a touristy area in Spain. We came without a reservation and waited about ten minutes at the bar for a table outside. Let me just say, the people watching was the entertainment of the night. My husband got the veal steak and I got the duck risotto. Both were stellar. I'd never had a dish like the risotto before! It was black from presumably squid ink, which was creative. The veal filled my husband up, which is a feat in itself. Great location, small interior, good beer and tapas selection. I stopped here with a friend while seeking shelter from the rain so we ordered a few tapas and some drinks. We shared the Iberico Croquettes which were very good - crispy and creamy. We also shared the Sheep's Cheese Plate which had some excellent cheeses on it. For my meal I ordered the Duck Confit and Truffle Rissoto, and they were both incredible. Our service was quick and friendly, even though the restaurant was very busy from other coming in quickly from the rain. My girlfriend and I came here for the New Year's Eve dinner special and because of the restaurant's close location to the Square. Although it was a bit weird having to pay in cash in person prior to our meal in order to maintain our reservation, we're very glad we went with this place, overall. The food was delicious and bountiful, as evidenced in the photos I uploaded. The festivities, and champagne were also extremely free-flowing, which we obviously greatly appreciated given the occasion. If it's NYE and you're in Madrid, definitely go here. read more

Last night in Madrid, Serafina was my last stop for tapas. I ordered a beer and it was nice and cold, served with the usual side of tapas. A large plate of green olives in this case. I opted for just one course here, the wontons which on the menu were crab filled but on my plate were filled with something else. Carrots and other vegetables? Found this restaurant looking for tapas to eat for lunch. Super cute restaurant and it even had a second floor. For drinks, we ordered a Sangriá and mocktail. Both were very delicious and tasteful. The Sangriá was rich with flavor and the wine was delightful. I loved the addition of fruit they gave as well in the glass. My sister absolutely loved her mocktail. For food, we ordered Ceviche de Pulpo con alioli de cilantro, Crujiente de Oreja en espuma de salsa brava, Deep Fried Calamari, Mellow iberian ham Croquettes, and Deep Fried Crispy Chicken. Everything tasted amazing... I'm literally drooling reminiscing on the food we had here. The Crujiente de Oreja (something with ear) was DELICIOUS! The wrapper was crunchy and the sauce was amazing. It was just a burst of flavor in your mouth that made me want to eat more. The fried calamari and chicken were both fried very well. The chicken was juicy and rich with the sauce. The calamari was was not at all rubbery and the addition of the sauce just added more flavor to each bite. I normally think 3 stars is mediocre which is what this restaurant would have received if the service was not so bad. Food: Mediocre is the best way to describe it. Decor: Nice cozy restaurant with decent decor Location: Decent location considering the plaza is a couple steps away. Service: Terrible service.. We were the only ones in the restaurant and the staff ignored us so much that even when we made eye contact and I waived at them the bartender continued to talk to another staff member and ignored us. Luckily our servers were switched out mid meal but the damage was already done by that time. This place is definitely catered to tourists. I would avoid it whether you're a tourist or not. If you want good food and good service venture into Chueca or Malasana. read more

This bar is just downstairs from my friend's flat and considering its location near la Puerta del Sol, which is relatively touristy, it has a very stylish appearance and atmosphere. Gin and tonics were served in massive wine glasses, a Spanish feature I much admire. The tonic was poured down a twisted mixing spoon which added to the sophisticated feel, as did our server's knowledge of and enthusiasm for different gins from Spain and Latin America. Food was great and very simple. Went for breakfast. It was very inexpensive and would go again for the avocado toast.

This was by far the best place we ate while in Madrid! The atmosphere is great. I love that the windows completely open so that while sitting inside, you feel like you are outside. The staff was very pleasant. They were extremely nice to the both of us considering the limited Spanish that we spoke (many were able to speak English). They provided excellent suggestions on a wine selection and a dessert selection. Everything that we ate was amazing. From the provolone con setas y cebolla caramelizada to the tarta de plátano y dulce de leche casero. I very highly recommend this cute little restaurant to anyone visiting Madrid! read more
