I made an appointment online this morning for 3:00pm with Jolie. I paid the deposit. I showed up at 2:50pm for my appointment. The young girl behind the counter was very nice. She told me that Jolie was with a client and would be with me shortly. The client left about 3pm. I continued wait for 25 more minutes. The young lady at the counter went to check and said she would be right with me. Another 10 to 15 min went by and I asked the young lady behind the counter what time they closed and she said 4pm. I said I probably need to reschedule then. I asked her if I could get my money back for the deposit. At that point what I can only imagine is Jolie came from behind the wall and very meanly said what is the problem. She said if don't want to wait let her go. I responded if she didn't have time for me she could have called or at least could have let me know when I was waiting. Jolie started screaming at me that she had back to back clients and that she was a 30 year professional. And other stuff I can't remember. Then I said since I am being treated so rudely I wanted my money back now. To which the young lady behind explained it wasn't possible because system I used to pay with. Then Jolie starting screaming at the young lady behind the register "just give it to her, just give it to her, give her cash!! And the young lady said I can't. Then the young lady said was going to call the manager..All I wanted was a hair cut and to feel special for alittle bit instead I left in tears!! I have never been treated so horrible!! New to the area and needing to find a new hairstylist, I was not sure where to try first. Based on referrals I decided to give Ego Boost a shot. The salon itself and the rest of the staff are lovely. My first appointment was booked with George and first impressions: he is fabulous! Never have I ever gained so much knowledge from a haircut! I have curly hair with some recent challenges due to weight loss and he came highly recommended. He spent the time with me to educate me on my curls and what he thought was the best way to proceed to help me reach my hair goals. I can't say enough lovely things about Ego Boost! Recently, my bridal party had their hair and makeup done here and everyone ended up looking and feeling just gorgeous! :) George & Co. were kind, incredibly skilled, fun, and really listened to what everyone wanted for their wedding day look. My granddaughter had her hair styled and colored by Moe yesterday at Ego Boost Salon and Spa. She was very nervous because this was her first experience. She took several pics of styles and examples of the coloring that she wanted for her hair. Her stylist, Moe, was patient and explained everything that she was going to do to achieve what she wanted. I don't believe that my granddaughter has stopped smiling since we left the salon. The salon is in a restored older home and is such an inviting place! I was able to stay of the salon floor with my granddaughter and sit beside her while she was in the chair. Very fun loving staff! We will definitely be returning again! read more

My experience was average. The staff was pleasant and they are trying to give a more casual but upscale environment. However, the salon is in an old house, and although renovated, it still smells and feels like an old house to me. Especially the hair washing area. I found that part to be below average, and thats important to me. The hair dye washed out after 2 washes and they offered to fix it, but had no openings to fix it for a whole month. I didn't love my cut. I probably wouldn't go here again. My friends that go here love it. So it might have just been my stylist. read more

I came here about a month ago and I absolutely loved it. Cliff cut my hair and he did a great job. He knows how to cut curly/wavy hair and if your have this type of hair you know how hard that can be to do well! I have also had a pedicure here and it was the best pedicure of my life. I have since referred my best friend, my husband and my mom here. Love this place! I also wanted some of the farmhouse fresh shea butter lotion in a particular scent that they were out of and they even ordered it for me! I keep thinking of excuses and reasons to go back. My experience was not great. The stylist was 15 min behind and no one ever said anything to me about the wait or apologized. I had never been here, but when I asked for a consultation with the stylist before getting shampooed, it was an issue. I was very clear in what I asked for in a cut, but once she finished, I had to ask her again to fix the ends, and it was still not right. I was never provided a mirror to check the back. It felt like I was literally rushed out of the chair. The only redeeming quality was the shampoo person, Jason. He did an amazing job! read more

This honestly is the best place I have ever been to get my hair done. George and Cliff have a wonderful business with knowledge stylists. I have thick curly hair that most stylists could not manage. Carly does my hair now and she is great. The massage therapists are wonderful along with the nail technicians also. read more

After trying many other barbers and stylists since moving to town I still could not find a person to deal with my wavy hair. The same person had been cutting my hair for 15 years until we moved to Chapin. My wife tried Ego Boost and loved it so she convinced me to try it. Allison was awesome and did an amazing job on my cut and color. Cliff was also amazing, helping to plan with both Allison and I, to make sure I got exactly what I wanted.
