Prices and conditions are very fair and also very clear, no hidden "suprises". Cars are nice, mostly I take the "K" category (Station Wagon with automatic transmission). Had a Hyundai, a Ford, a Mazda and a Citroen before. All were - apart from a few minor scratches - in nice condition. All the cars here had most available extras and gadgets. All had a rear view camera, which is great. When I rent I drive quite some miles with them, have them for several weeks sometimes. Never had any problems with any of the cars. And now as a Five-Star Gold member I get some extras like free upgrades. It's a nice customer loyalty programm. Besides that you can book the Super Cover, which means in a case of an accident you are fully covered without getting any charge. There are more insurances (passenger, luggage etc.) which you can add to your rental. GPS, safety seats for kids and much more is available as well. I always book on their own website. It's easy, fast and when you show up at the place, just a matter of minutes to get your car. Dropping the car on the return is as fast and easy as the pick-up. Always happy to rent here and will continue to do so.

Notice One Star - I would rate SIXT as a ZERO if possible…read more I reserved an Audi A7 online about two or three months before our trip. We wanted a comfortable powerful sedan for our trip around Switzerland. When we arrived at the SIXT agency in Basel, we were given an old POS Mercedes diesel station wagon, a C200 I think. I told the agents that we had reserved an Audi. They said that they were only required to rent us an Audi or something "similar", and that the MBZ diesel wagon was "similar". We had just gotten off a Vikings river cruise (Excellent BTW) and had no transportation. We were stuck with the MBZ. That was bad enough, but we were ripped off at the return of the car. We were charged 100 euros for dropping it off at the Sixt agency on the "wrong" side of the airport. No one ever told us that there were two sides, or that we were at the "wrong" side. We were charged for filling the tank. Forty gallons - yes, more than the tank in that little MBZ would hold. These charges were added to our credit card after we returned to the USA. I tried several times to talk to someone who could review the situation. No one would/could intervene or assist. No recourse. Sixt must be the worst car rental company we have ever hired. Horrible.

Highly recommend this company while choosing a car to travel in Switzerland. It is still unclear as to whether or not we needed a car, but since we got one, I'm glad it was here with Tunahan, whose service was excellent. Treat him well Budget!

There was a small episode at the counter when I picked up the car. The staff asked for my passport. However, it wasn't mentioned in the online form. It was a hiking trip and I was afraid that I will lose my passport so I only brought my drivers licenses and a digital copy of passport. However, the lady at the counter didn't say that the copy would work. Maybe we communicated in English and it's not her first language, it took her a long time for her to ask for the digital copy and accept it. It was a much smoother experience the week before at Avis.
