The very small St Helena shops has only one cafe, so if you need coffee then this is it my friends. You guessed right, it's name is Sweet Temptations. Now I could go on about how great my coffee was but I would rather bring you up to speed on the namesake of this cafe. They certainly got it right. I was totally tempted by the range of delicious looking cakes and sweets. As well as different sized chocolate mud cakes and cheesecakes they also had fruit packed apple strudel and tarts. As an example the Bailey's Cheesecake was $39. The custard filled cannoli's ($3.30) also caught my eye but I resisted temptation and stuck with my coffee (how saintly am I?) and distracted myself by reading a section of the newspaper. This cafe is spacious, well decorated (checkout the lighting) and the perfect place to grab a coffee in St Helena.

The coffee (Picollo) was perfectly done and the Hot Chocolate was dark and hot. The Vegemite and Cheese Pie (a take on a traditional scroll) was amazing... I didn't order it but stole from the plate next to mine. Two of us ordered the Mahumsor breakfast for a bit of a change from standard bacon and eggs and found it was so tasty we were eating too quickly! There are a lot of bakery goods to come back for and we will definitely be back for brunch. Stop by... it's new but could definitely do with more business. Nice and quiet on Saturday morning.

Locals know this and come back for the great service as well as the yummy bakery offerings. If your looking for a cheap and quick lunch in the Watsonia area then this is the place to go. Get in line though as it can be busy. As well as a selection of breads and slices they also do gourmet pies, flaky sausage rolls and quiches. They have a sandwich bar so get your fresh roll ready for lunch here. There is a drinks fridge with a range of soft drinks and they also do coffee. They make to order birthday cakes, Novelty cakes and Continential Tortes so if your in Watsonia and need to celebrate with cake then Wastonia Bakehouse is where you should head.
