To start the night, I ordered the Ruby Crudo as an appetizer, and all I can say is that it was such a unique combination. I wasn't sure how all the flavors would come together, but everything surprisingly worked so well. Next, I ordered the Langoustine Roll with pressed rice. At first, I didn't think I was going to like it, but it ended up being sooo flavorful and incredibly easy to eat. If you have a smaller mouth like me, you don't have to worry about making a mess because the sushi was so soft and practically melted with every bite. Of course, I had to order their Casanova Roll since it's what they're best known for, and it definitely did not disappoint! It was on the sweeter side with plenty of sauce, which was perfect for my palate. Now onto the Miso Steak. I ordered it medium, but some bites toward the end were more well done. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything special either, so I personally wouldn't recommend it. Overall, I had a great experience here, but I do think the food is overpriced. I keep going back and forth between a 3 and a 4 for this restaurant, a 3.5 option here would be ideal. While the food was overall a big hit, I am completely disgusted with the bathrooms here. I am assuming there are many patrons that come whose stomachs cannot handle raw fish, and there's just simply not enough time to clean the stalls. Additionally, I am not sure if my friends and I showed up on a day that it was severely understaffed, but the pacing of the meal was completely off. While our waiter was super nice and attentive, our food showed up way out of sync. I finished both of the rolls I ordered before anyone else's food even showed up. In before anyone says I could have waited for everyone else's food, I am not going to have raw sushi sitting out baking under the little outdoor heater for 20-30 minutes. On top of that everyone was completely finished with their plates and had to ask about our friend's last roll that hadn't come yet. And when she said, if it's not ready, we can just cancel the order and move on to dessert, the Manhattan roll materialized almost immediately, as if it had been ready for some time and was just waiting to be brought to the table. In terms of the food, everything was really good except the King Roll. We ordered it expecting it to be some type of spider roll, and it just did not have the signature crunch we were looking for. My friends and I were excited to try this place! We came in the middle of the week for dinner so we hoped for the best in terms of not making reservations. I had trouble finding the place so my friends were waiting for me before they could seat the whole party. In the meantime, they enjoyed the full bar and had a few gin cocktails. The sweet and sour sauce it came with took it to another level as far as sweet and savory goes. Shinobi roll - the roll came out with a really good presentation. Came out with 8 rolls and they had a great flavor. Casanova roll - a really great balance of sweet and spicy. The peppers on top were an extra (good) pop to the savory flavor. Good spicy and would for sure order again. Part of me felt like for the prices that they're charging. They kind of could give bigger portions, but I feel like that's probably by design because they want you to keep ordering. I had heard from a friend that Eight Sushi Lounge was an excellent spot for sushi, so I was very interested to try it. The restaurant has a nice ambiance inside that feels more suited for something intimate (smaller lights so it is less bright indoors) while their outdoor seating is more lively (as typical as one can get with sitting outside). The servers were friendly and the food came out in a fairly timely manner. We got the Velvet Roll, Shinobi Roll, Blue Fin Otoro, King Crab Sando, Sake Nigiri, Summer Affair, and Eight's Lychee Martini. Both the Summer Affair and Eight's Lychee Martini were fruity and refreshing drinks, not too strong (for me). The King Crab Sando was a good appetizer, albeit rather tiny as it came in two small pieces. The bread had a good crunch that paired well with the toppings. I felt okay about the Velvet Roll and Shinobi Roll. They both felt like they were doing too much in terms of the fillings and toppings and I was not too big of a fan. If I had to pick, I would say the Shinobi Roll was better than the Velvet Roll for me (although both are different). My boyfriend enjoyed the Blue Fin Otoro and Sake Nigiri, but he did note that the Sake Nigiri seemed off... unsure if that was in a positive or negative manner. We were a party of 3, and since they do not sit incomplete parties we ordered drinks at the bar until our friend got there. Now while those were all AMAZING, the Casanova roll stood out the most...I mean WOW, the seared scallops were the cherry on top (see pics). My husband and I visited Eight Sushi on Valentine's Day. There is a parking deck right next to the restaurant. Since we were running late and getting close to our reservation time, we opted to valet our car. The valet is really easy. You can either pay online or pay with cash. There is a fee if you decide to pay online which is why we went with cash. The restaurant is very busy, and since it is so popular, you are seated pretty closely together with everyone else. There is a heated outdoor patio, but we chose to sit inside since it was so cold. For an appetizer, we got the eggs Benedict. The egg is a quail egg, and while I thought it was good, I personally wouldn't get it again. My husband loved it though and would. For our rolls, we got the langoustine roll, the shinobi roll, and the explosion roll. Personally, our least favorite was the shinobi. With how good the fish is at Eight restaurant, we felt like the filet mignon on top of the shinobi just wasn't as good as everything else. We wish we went with the Casanova roll which we were debating on getting over the Shinobi since they were pretty similar but Casanova had scallops as the topping instead. The langoustine roll was good, but the crunch was probably the strongest part of the roll. My husband didn't really like it, and while I did enjoy it, I probably wouldn't get it again because I would want to try something else. Our favorite roll was the Explosion Roll. The sauce on top was great, and the blend of everything was delicious. Just thinking about it right now has my mouth watering. I also loveddddd their salmon belly nigiri. Eight Sushi bills itself as an upscale sushi lounge. I don't necessarily disagree, as the food is definitely better quality than what you would get premade elsewhere. I've been twice so far and I've enjoyed each sushi roll I've had. The customer service leaves something to be desired however. My first time going, I was unaware that (unvalidated) valet parking was available in the adjacent parking garage, so I hunted for street parking. Since the location is downtown Atlanta, you'll know that this is no easy feat. If you opt for the valet parking, they do allow you to pay via cash or app (e.g., Venmo, Cash App). When you enter the actual restaurant, there is a separate bar/lounge area to your immediate left behind two large black doors. If you have time before your restaurant reservation (definitely make a reservation, especially if you are going on a weekend), I'd suggest hanging out there for a bit and having a drink. Nice lowkey vibe if you get there early enough. As far as the actual restaurant, there is a smaller bar inside as well. The waitstaff for the restaurant is hit or miss. The first time I went, the server was great. Gave off great energy, steered us away from rolls that weren't her cup of tea and recommended some great ones. She even took a picture with us. The second time was the complete opposite, the male server shuffled over and the first thing out his mouth was "you ready?" My date said that he was probably just having a bad night, to which I replied "they just opened 10 minutes ago and there are two tables here, what could've ticked him off already?" He offered no recommendations and we ended up having to ask another server to drink refills. Don't worry, his tip reflected his attitude and lack of energy. As far as the rolls, I haven't had one yet that I didn't care for. They all appear to have high quality ingredients and are made fresh, and for that reason I don't have any issue paying a premium for them. I'd suggest getting a few for the table since they don't all come out at the same time and everyone can share. One final note, the restroom setup is...odd. I can't speak for what the lady's restroom looks like but the men's restroom is one urinal, one stall. I don't know anything about building ordinances but it's so weird to me that a restaurant would have such limited facilities. The service here was great. Nice staff. Also a cute place pretty intimate vibes. The sushi was very tasty! The tobiko added a great crunch and it wasn't too spicy. Great use of mango too not overpowering. The spring rolls however meh. Wanted to try the ramen but they were out! Heard great things though. read more

This is my absolute favorite sushi place in all of Atlanta. Or possibly in any city. This sushi bar is swank, upscale without being overly stiff and has some of the best bartenders in the metro Atlanta. While the sushi and all items that we ordered, the drinks were some of the best. I had my first whiskey flip, I was a little scared but this drink was creamy, sweet and was prepared perfectly. We ordered multiple items including the tuna crisp, langostino, king crab bruschetta, kings roll, gyoza. This restaurant prides itself in fresh ingredients, exclusive options that are tasty and beautiful to the eyes. I wish I could say which item was my favorite, but they all were top notch. This is a great place for a date night, birthday or special occasion. They also have outdoor seating. I highly recommend reservations. read more

My wife and I are in often, we've been to Eight together and separately well over 50 times over the years. Every single time we've dined the food and service has been incredible, which isn't easy to pull off in this town. On our most recent visit we brought family in from another major market and they were very impressed with the level of service and quality of ingredients. Our server was great and made their experience memorable. I'm writing this review after just speaking with them and then reiterating how much they enjoyed the restaurant. 10/10 I decided to go on a solo date and this was delicious. The lychee martini's are awesome and such a perfect pairing with the sushi. The Casanova roll, I could marry. It was delicious without leaving super full and just the touch I needed. The bartenders were super friendly and the service was awesome. The renovation is neat as well. read more
