Maybe its reputation from other locations preceded it, but unfortunately, we were very underwhelmed. Having been to most of the fine sushi restaurants in Atlanta over the last 10 years, we decided that instead of going back to Umi or MF Sushi, we'd finally check out Nobu for my birthday. We dressed for a special Saturday night date, and the hotel itself is beautiful. We were seated promptly, but I was immediately a little confused by the seating. Despite this being noted as a birthday/date night, the two of us were seated at a large round four-top right in the middle of the restaurant. It felt neither intimate nor particularly special. In general, the dining room felt much more open and almost cafeteria-like than the elegant, high-end sushi atmosphere I was expecting. The music was great and definitely added to the vibe. Our server was friendly and mostly attentive, although we saw much less of him as the evening went on. Even some of the smaller details felt surprising at this price point. The restroom was a little messy, there weren't nice hand towels or other elevated touches, and not even a full-length mirror. None of those things matter much individually, but when you're paying for a luxury dining experience, the details are part of what separates it from an average restaurant. They did bring out a small birthday dessert with a candle, which was an appreciated gesture, although there was nothing personalized or written on it. The biggest disappointment, unfortunately, was the food. We started with the Hamachi and the Tiradito recommended by our server. The Hamachi was very good, but the Tiradito had such a similar flavor profile that I was surprised our server recommended both rather than steering us toward something that would give us more variety. The crispy rice with tuna was pretty good. The rock shrimp was heavily battered, but enjoyable. Those were probably among the better items we ordered. The sushi rolls, though, were extremely underwhelming. We tried three different rolls, and there wasn't a single one we would order again. For a restaurant at this level, they honestly reminded me more of decent takeout sushi than something I'd expect from Nobu. Ultimately, the price-to-experience ratio is why I landed at three stars. If this were a middle-of-the-road sushi restaurant and dinner cost $200, I probably wouldn't think much of these complaints. But when dinner for two is around $500, expectations are understandably much higher. At that price, I expect several dishes to be memorable, thoughtful recommendations from the server, elevated attention to detail, and a little extra care when the reservation is for a special occasion. Unfortunately, we just didn't get that experience here. For our next high-end sushi date night, we'd definitely choose one of our Atlanta favorites before returning to Nobu. It wasn't terrible by any means--it simply didn't feel remotely worth the price. read more

Delicious brunch but slight underwhelming. For $80 you get an all you can eat brunch. The sushi options are very limited. there were two different rolls on the buffet counter. There was two white fish options in a tuna and salmon sushi option. There was a Cold salad bar with shrimp, surfer, snow, crab, claws, and oysters and then the hot table had a really fatty brisket, shrimp and grits, bao buns, a Japanese curry and ribeye along with a few other bites. The brussel sprouts were my favorite option. The bloody Mary was meh and was not included. Our service was confusing. I wasn't sure who our actual server was. The ambience was nice and our waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu and everything she recommended was spot on! The snow crab sushi roll was fantastic. As I looked over the menu, she mentioned the Specials of the Day. When I mentioned being pescatarian, the waitress mentioned a dish "not listed but on the extended menu." It was PHENOMENAL! I want to start this review off by saying that I always go to the restaurant first to let them try to resolve an issue before coming online to complain about it. I have always felt that was the fair thing to do, to give them a chance to correct errors or wrongdoing. My friend and I ate at Nobu on May 31st at 1:30 p.m. for the buffet. We tried basically everything there--as it was a buffet. Immediately when we walked in, it was a very underwhelming buffet. Not at all what I expected. We were a little disappointed because we did a lot of research into the Nobu buffet and thought it would be a luxurious outing together. Anyways, we loaded up our plates and started trying all of the different foods. Every piece of fish was so underwhelming. Not only that, but I thought it tasted a little old or something. There was something not quite right about it. Looking back, there was definitely something wrong. Both my friend and I went home, and I got home around 3 p.m. that same day and became violently ill. I was violently ill for 24 hours and am still (48 hours later) dealing with this issue. My friend is having the EXACT same symptoms. As soon as I got sick that same day, we reached out to Nobu to let them know something was wrong. Not only was the entire dining experience a letdown, but the food was not very good. I do not believe this is Nobu's standard, but I have never been before, so I am not sure what is standard there. What I do know is that I eat expensive sushi ALL THE TIME, and it has never tasted like Nobu or left me ill. Beautiful, modern spot for a refined and delicious dining experience. I took a coworker here to celebrate a big career milestone, and it was the perfect choice. Every dish is thoughtfully presented, and the service feels sophisticated . The crispy rice with tuna was a standout starter. The rice had the perfect balance of crispy and chewy and held the tuna beautifully. We also tried the mini tacos with lobster, fried fish, and salmon- each one packed with flavor. For entrées, we shared the black cod and tempura lobster, both delicate, well-executed, and full of flavor. We ended with the bento dessert box. During my stay at the Nobu hotel, I dined for both dinner and breakfast. For dinner, I sat at the bar and breakfast I sat at a high top. Ambiance: I was actually surprised at the overall vibe of the restaurant. I liked the minimalist, clean looking decor but was a little surprised at the loud music they had blasting over the speakers during dinner. Not mad at it, just surprised. Patrons ranged from casual to dressy which I thought was very welcoming! I believe breakfast had music playing also, lol. Service: Service was amazing and scarily fast. Wait times were extremely short for food and drinks, which was a plus. Jennifer, my bartender, was amazing. She made great cocktails and was very kind while working the bar. The guy who sat next to me also had a few drinks and said each and every one was a hit. I removed one star for this area, because at the end of service there was some sort of dispute between a few of the bartenders that was noticeable and heated and honestly loud enough for me to overhear. It made things feel awkward and shouldn't have been a disagreement done in front of patrons with the guy antagonizing the woman. My waiter at dinner was also very nice and he made great recommendations for me when I was being indecisive. Drinks: At dinner, I had a lychee & elderflower martini which was delicious and refreshing . Would highly recommend. For breakfast, I had the Black Orchid tea. I am not an avid tea drinker, but this to me was just okay. Nothing to write home about. Dinner: I had the yellowtail jalapeños which is a Nobu staple and the black cod with miso. Both were amazing. I was sooo excited and really looking forward to it... just to say I left sooo disappointed. We got there around 12:30 and it was pretty packed. The place itself is beautiful and the service was actually great, no complaints there. But the food? It was just... blah. For $85 per person, I was expecting way more variety and better quality. The selection felt limited, and nothing on the hot food side really hit. The smoked brisket was sooo dry and tough. I kept waiting for something to wow me, and it just never happened. We thoroughly enjoyed our cocktails. We ordered the yellowtail jalapeño, New-style sashimi-Wagyu, Black Cod with Miso, Miso Soup with Tofu, and Wagyu and lobster tacos. All the appetizers were tasty, but the Black Cod with Miso was the highlight. Full disclosure: we were quite disappointed with the tacos. The pictures are very misleading, so if you're considering getting them, I strongly advise against it -- don't waste your time or money! We also ordered sushi. We tried the House special, baked snow crab, and the blue oh toro. All the sushi rolls were delicious. To finish the evening, we had Japanese French toast and a Cappuccino. Came here during a trip to Buckbead. Was staying at the Nobu hotel, so it was very convenient to eat here. This review is for dinner and breakfast. For dinner, I had the Atlanta omakase, which is 7 courses. Within one course, there are 3 crudos, and within the next, there are 4 nigiri pieces, just FYI, so it ends up being quite a bit of food. I enjoyed all these very much. The lobster tempura was also excellent, however, the fish dish was extremely salty and hard to eat. It did not flake, and I felt like I would have needed to either bite off chunks of the fish or use a knife, which was not provided. The dry aged wagyu was very good. The dessert was unique; I liked this a lot. It was a stuffed donut hole with apple cobbler and ice cream. Service was friendly. Only service gripe was that I had to wait several minutes at the hostess stand before getting seated. For breakfast, I had the smoked salmon benedict and 2 kinds of green tea. I liked the salmon component, but the bread part was just ok (a piece of toast) and there was just one egg (normally for bennys, there are two, in my experience). I noted that when I made the reservation and they gave us such an intimate corner booth and mentioned happy anniversary multiple times and even put it on our dessert. That made us feel very special! I made lunch reservations easily through OpenTable, and parking was a breeze with free garage access directly connected to the hotel. I was seated promptly upon arrival. I had the pleasure of being served by Ladarius P., a kind gentleman with stellar service--and easy on the eyes, might I add! I noticed Nobu offered a lunch prix fixe menu online, so I had to come see for myself. The price point was great for sampling some of their menu favorites. I had zero complaints about the appetizer and entrée; both were excellent. However, I would suggest adding a few stronger dessert options. Came for brunch on a Sunday! I've never been to a Nobu before so I can't compare it to others, but this Nobu is more laxed than what I expected. Parked for free in the Lifetime Fitness garage and took the elevator to the second floor where Nobu was. We were seated promptly in the booth/seat combo where seating was a bit too close for my liking. I could brush shoulders with the person next to us. We did the AYCE brunch which I thought was nice! It was a good way to sample different Nobu items. The sushi selection was great for it to be a buffet and they did a great job at keeping up with putting more down as the crowds gathered. The hot bar was also really great and the steak was 10/10. Definitely could see myself coming back! read more

I finally tried the all you can eat Sunday brunch. We booked for 11 am and they opened the doors a little after 11 and we went straight to eat. They have a decent variety of sushi's, seafood, non-seafood Japanese dishes, prime rib and pastries and desserts. My personal favorites were the spicy tuna crispy rice, the miso black cod, the sukiyaki beef, and the waffles with the berry compote. Most of the food was really tasty but I didn't love the Japanese curry or the prime rib. The curry is a bit watery and lacked flavor and the prime rib was way overcooked. I also ordered the champagne 95 brunch drink which was strong and reminded me of a peach Bellini but way stronger and alcohol forward. After the drink and brunch my total was over $100 and after tip I spent about $130. That's a bit steep for brunch but to be able to try some of Nobus famous dishes it's not a bad deal. read more

This review is specifically for the Nobu Restaurant on property and complete lack of support we received from the GM of the restaurant (and are still waiting on) after our stay in May. I was a recent hotel guest at Nobu Atlanta the weekend of May 1-3 and my husband experienced severe food poisoning after a meal he had via in room dining on Friday evening (May 1st). I shared details both in a thread in email with Gustavo Garcia and in the automated survey shared after my stay. The room service for in room dining was charged to my husband's credit card - the total was $276.02 on Friday evening (5/1) I provided this update to Gustavo in person and he immediately questioned if it was due to alcohol, which is an insane response after telling a restaurant GM that your husband got food poisoning. After offering my husband a bottle of ginger ale, Gustavo had promised to follow up via email. After one email of "we are looking into this" there have been zero follow ups. Extremely disappointed in this outcome from a luxury brand restaurant and hotel - If the GM of the Restaurant can please reach out, I'm happy to discuss further. read more

First of all the hotel room is comfortable and it is nice and quiet, there are a lot of small touches that made this special. The restaurant is great for dinner that is already well known, I like my miso cod, crispy rice spicy tuna, and tacos. The dessert Okinawa donuts are great. But not everyone knows about their breakfast, since we stayed at the hotel we tried there breakfast, it is served at the same Restaurant location. They have a great White omelette with miso, and French toast. The service is excellent and staff were all on point. It is a pretty restaurant and hotel, I will come back and try their brunch as I heard so much about it. read more

Friends, vegetarians, countrymen I am happy to report that the pre-fixe lunch menu at Nobu is vegetarian friendly! I wasn't 100% sure from the research I did online, but once I arrived they let me know they can basically make any of their dishes vegetarian friendly. These days I'm both gluten free and vegetarian and I had no issues at nobu. The ambience was cute! I gave 4 stars instead of 5 solely because I think our waiter forgot about us a little bit and also told my colleague she couldn't switch out her chocolate mochi for a different flavor (she hates chocolate). I ordered a drink at the start of lunch that didn't arrive till near the end, when our waiter checked on us the first time. We stayed at Nobu to be close to the start line of the Peachtree Road Race, and from check-in to check-out, the hotel delivered an incredible experience. We were warmly welcomed at check-in with a delicious tea and a refreshing warm towel. The staff were friendly and attentive throughout our stay. Our room was a perfect blend of modern luxury and Japanese minimalism--clean, quiet, and thoughtfully designed. The king-size bed was extremely comfortable, with soft linens. I especially loved the rainfall shower head in the generously sized bathroom. There were also thoughtful touches that stood out: individual reading lights and outlets on both sides of the bed, and a Nespresso machine (though I didn't use it). We stayed on the 4th floor and never heard a sound from the elevator or neighboring rooms. We visited the rooftop to check things out--the pool is on the smaller side but it's beautiful, very clean and well maintained. There's also a rooftop bar, and from what we saw, you can order small bites to eat. We enjoyed complimentary champagne while watching the fireworks. The view was great! We had hoped to eat dinner at the hotel, but when we went down at 5:30, we were told dinner isn't served until 6:30 PM. So instead, we walked about 3 minutes (through the mall) and ate at Davio's--also highly recommended! Tip: If you'd rather not pay $45 a day for valet, take advantage of the self-parking. It's free, and the hotel-designated parking spots are located right next to the elevator--just steps from the door. The elevator brings you straight into the lobby. I tried the spicy yellowtail, lobster, variation of sushi, lychee martini, and the baked alaskan dessert. I came to nobu for their brunch. All you can eat. It was a birthday treat to myself. I made a reservation online and I had to change the time and it was fine with them. I had to call, and they answer the phone, so it's really good customer service. When I arrived, because I changed a couple of times there was some confusion, but they immediately were able to sort it out and seat me on the patio, which is what I preferred because it was a nice day. The thing about sitting on the patio is you do have to come in and out of a heavy door so if you're carrying too many plates, it might be a little difficult to get through the door. the food is spectacular. They keep everything fresh on the line, and My favorite was the miso black seabass and the salad and the sushi. Everything is great. ! I would recommend coming no later than 2 o'clock. As the buffet ends at 3, they definitely don't kick you out. But they start to basically cleanup by about 3:30. So if you really want to have a full enjoyment without feeling rushed because they are closing, I would suggest coming around 1pm, no later than 2. read more

I visited Nobu and Jeffrey took excellent care of my table. Every dish and flavor profile was out of this world; everything pictured was a 10/10. Cliff's suggestions on how to enjoy the food as intended made the experience even better. The staff was extremely kind and attentive. Was so excited to go to my first Nobu experience. It's a bucket list item for me, and it did not disappoint! The food was absolutely delicious! Surprisingly the Salmon and pear dish and crispy rice with spicy tuna were the highlight of our meal! The service was absolutely wonderful, but the server did convince us to get way too much food. I'm not complaining that much though, we wanted to try so much! It was very nice vibe and fit well for Japanese vibe. read more

This location has definitely gotten better since the they opened. I dined at the restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner while on a stay-cation. I loved the breakfast sandwich in the morning. I was also able to try the waygu sliders poolside which need to be added to the restaurant menu. For lunch I had the 3 course prefix with the spicy tuna on crispy rice, American wagyu filet and banana mochi. Everything was delicious. Service was nice, however, my server did forget about me at tje end and I had to checkout with the host. I would still definitely come back. read more

We went for brunch (first time at Nobu ever) and though there were good options, overall, I was surprised that the food was not exceptional. The staff were amazing and the service was great but I think I would try their regular lunch/dinner. read more
