But we did not understand how drastic the changes would be. We went from getting about $2,000 back per year to owing $6,000!!! We thought that our refund would be very small or that we would about break even. An $8,000 swing is crazy. Tax laws are purposely complicated. I'm not a CPA. I don't understand tax law. That's what I pay Noto for. He's supposed to know these things. I feel that since the changes were so huge in 2018 that he should have given his customers the courtesy of a quick phone call or an e-mail. How difficult would it have been for him to just type a quick e-mail blast to tell everyone to look at changing their deductions? He had a whole year. Did he just not want to deal with the number of customers wishing to schedule appointments to discuss their taxes? I also corrected a mistake he made on one of our returns a few years ago. I remember him chuckling and saying, "Don't tell anybody." Also, I started doing a review program with Best Buy last year. They send me products to test and I review them on their website. I called Noto to ask him about the tax implications of this before starting the program and he told me that if I kept the products to under $5,000 worth for the year I should be OK. I did about $2,000 worth of products and that screwed us. So he was wrong about that also. So I stand by my review. The man is useless and I will NOT be paying for his services again. I know some other customers of his that were also blind-sided by their 2018 taxes and won't be using him either. I am not the only customer he has lost over this.

Do not get your taxes done here. I dropped my taxes off to get them done and was told It would be…read moredone by the next day. I go to pick it up after work the next day and the lady couldn't find them. It took them 5 min to locate my paperwork and said they had been missed placed. I was told they would be done by the next day and I could pick them up after work. The next day I get a phone call from them saying that a number from my employer was missing. I told them I didn't know what she was talking about and that all my other coworkers hadn't had a problem filling there taxes. She said for me to ask my manager for the number. So I ask my manager and he said everything I needed was in my paperwork. I tell them I don't have the number they are asking for so she said I would need to file an extension because it was the last day to file. I go that same day, file and extension, get my paperwork from them and leave. The next day I take my taxes to another tax preparer and tell him nothing about not being able to file my taxes with another business. The next day I pick up my paperwork and everything was fine. I got referred by a close friend that has been going to this place for years. Very professional and they offer competitive rates for simple form taxes. I only had one W2, no dependents, write offs, etc... And was given the lowest rate I've ever been charged in 10 yrs.
