I checked out prices of other places including big box stores such as Costco and these prices can't be beat!!! I brought 27 reels (of different size) film, and a half dozen VHS tapes- all jumbled together in a cardboard box- to A Video & Image Company to be converted to DVDs. I think it safe to say the order was a genuine professional challenge. What a great job was done! I had copies made for my sibling's families and my parents. They all said that this was the best gift they could have ever received. Most of the films were 30 to 40 years old and could not be watched without being converted. My mother in law has some old 8mm films that she wanted to put onto DVD. She found a groupon for…read morethis place and had me drop off the films. I dropped them off in early fall and it took about 4-5 weeks for them to be completed (She did have nearly 25 films). The quirks of the service is that you have to make an appointment to drop off and pick up. The owner is only in the office for appointments. Also, I asked him to contact me when he knew how much film was there to have an estimate of cost. I never received a call so was a bit surprised of the cost when I arrived. That being said, the video quality is quite good and he can do additions if you want such as music etc. They have a coupon on their site which for my order would have been better (30% off) than using the groupon.
