Along with Brian, the estimator, she came up with an ingenious use of the existing small space for an expanded walk-in shower and vanity area. Zoriana created a CAD rendering of the project, so we were able to clearly visualize what it will look like. Monks met our budget, and we are excited to proceed with the job. Bill Tuorto initially sold us on a line of cabinets called Kith. Once we decided on the style and…read morecolor with Kith, we signed a contract and left a 50% deposit with Kitchen Elite on March 7, 2020. Immediately after we signed the contract, Bill pulled a bait and switch and pushed us towards another cabinet brand, Hansom, which he said was better and even cheaper. Since this was all new information to us, we told Bill that we will need to think about it over the next few days. After doing our own research, we found that Bill lied about several things with both cabinet lines and we told him we did not feel comfortable with what he told us and we no longer wanted to proceed with either cabinet line and we wanted our 50% deposit back. Since we were a few hours past the 72-hour cancellation window by NJ law, Bill became very nasty and said he will not return our deposit. After speaking to other cabinet dealers, we learned that a 50% deposit is very uncommon in the industry and it's a clear indication that the business has underlying cashflow issues. Since Bill would not return our deposit, we tried to work something out with him on another cabinet lined called LaurierMax. LaurierMax was above the price point we wanted to be at. Ultimately, we decided to proceed with LaurierMax as we were already out 50% with our deposit. However, the issues with Kitchen Elite did not stop here. Several cabinets arrived damaged and measured incorrectly. After a lot of going back and fourth, only some of the cabinets were repaired and/or replaced. Bill does not take any accountability and does nothing to rectify the situation with the cabinet manufacturer. Once he is paid in full, he will not help his customers. This is clear consumer fraud. It is important to note our contractor was the preferred installer that Kitchen Elite used for two years, however, our contractor no longer does business with him as there were similar issues on other projects in the area. This is the third cabinet installer that Bill has gone through in 6 years.

Bonus: they open at 8 but the rep was kind enough to let me in and helped me earlier. Service is above average!

He never stated that he wanted to come by to provide a more accurate figure. We reviewed what needed to be done, all areas were small & contained thanks to quick identification of the source & water extraction equipment. The pictures I posted in the review were the same pictures I sent to the business owner. An estimate is not a contract, it is a written statement indicating the likely price that will be charged for specified work or repairs. Estimates protect the individual by understanding what they are signing up for when they agree to work with a contractor or business. I can't speak to the quality of their work. However I contacted them for a quote and the gentleman asked for pictures of the areas needing repair. A quote was provided quickly for $5800 (see pictures for work needed). Replacing sheetrock, spackle, sanding, painting, and associated materials / labor). This was related to water damage which was being covered by my home owners insurance. When asked for a written estimate, he stated he doesn't give them unless I am going to guarantee him the work. I've successfully received many written estimates for construction related activities in the last 7 years and expressed my surprise with this statement.

Thanks to Yelp, we did a quick search and found the Natural Stone Kitchen & Bath. It's a small office located on 130 across from the Shop Rite in North Brunswick. We walked in, and Diego walked us through some options and pricing, and we settled on a lovely Quartz countertop. We decided to go with Quartz, as Granite requires yearly sealing and maintenance. We scheduled our template appointment, followed by our installation. It was a smooth process and we ended up paying about $1800 for everything. Good stuff. Everything was a smooth process and they did a great job! I would definitely return here again for a future project.
