Was steered to this place by someone from Ohio State University's Lima campus who wanted to me to hit a local mom and pop rather than the strip of chain restaurants in the area. If you can't find something you like on this menu then you should take a hard look at yourself. It's massive. Very unique food choices and things I've not seen in other mex restaurants. My daughter was surprised to see birria tacos on the menu which were amazing and I had the alambre Cazador which was very flavorful. Service was great and margaritas were very good. a little sweet for my liking but came with a lime and orange slice, which was a great twist. Good salsa too! I'm from out of state, and driving through Ohio. Saw the good reviews on Yelp. We went a little out of our way to get here but well worth it. Also it's located on the side of a strip mall and there is no sign for it on the business sign posts on the road side. Definitely a hidden gem in Lima, OH. I choose based on the good reviews, though when we got there the strip mall location and somewhat dingy outside appearance caused me to reconsider. The inside, however, was immaculate and the staff was very friendly. The beer was cold, salsa was full of flavor, and the entrees were excellent. EXCELLENT!!! They brought us complimentary chips and salsa which tasted fresh and delicious. They also brought me some of their homemade hot sauce, as well. I love homemade hot sauces and their did not disappoint with great heat and flavor. For dinner, I had the beef fajitas and my husband had the pork chimichangas. It was served quickly and was hot. The chimichangas came in a set of two and the plate was huge and served with rice, beans, pico de gallo, sour cream and guacamole. The fajitas were HUGE!!! The seasonings on the beef, peppers and onions was delicious! The peppers and onions were cooked perfectly to be tender but not burnt or mushy. The fajitas were also served with flour or corn tortillas, rice and beans, pico de gallo, sour cream and guacamole. They thoughtfully offered more tortillas when I had eaten the three that they had served with the meal. There were two gentleman who worked together to be very attentive to our needs throughout dinner. We were greeted immediately when we walked in. We were quickly offered a second basket of chips when we finished our first. And our waters were empty for more than a few moments. The restaurant's atmosphere was bright, festive and welcoming with comfortable booths and tables. Thoughtfully, they have two TVs in case anyone wanted to be able to watch the game while out to dinner with the family. We stopped for dinner on our way back from Michigan. My husband and I shared a burrito, which was the perfect amount of food for two people. Everything was similar to other Mexican restaurants in Ohio. I don't fault restaurants for that since it seems to be what people like. Service was great. Just had dinner here. Did not like the salsas, very tomato taste. Order the 2 for $8.99, - 2 Chile Rellenos with Rice/beans. When received check it was charged out as Alla carte. Which was like$5.00 more. When questioned server his reply was on the new menu it is not showing up on this deal. I said should not be showing me an out dated menu. I asked my server if I could use the buy one get half off coupon for two entrees. He said yes and it would be taken off at the register. The manager running the cash registered then told me that I could not use the coupon. That same manager took my glass for a refill and never came back. This is just poor service. I'm sure we will see this place expand to a larger location soon, as the fans keep rolling in. The food is really great, if not a great change from the same old tortilla. More effort is spent here to keep to tradition than at other Mexican eateries in the area, and that makes me sad. We need more eats like this in the Lima area! read more

Just stopped to eat dinner at El Cazador as we were driving through Ohio. It was fantastic! We were greeted very warmly when we walked in, and the service remained friendly and efficient throughout. It's clear that considerable care went into the decor; it's bright, cheery, and extremely clean. Most important, the food was delicious.
