Extremely fantastic Mexican food, served quickly, that is inexpensive!

We have visited El Cazador many times and was very disappointed with our last visit. We ordered a half pitcher of the blue curaçao margarita and was informed late that they didn't have the ingredients to serve it. We then ordered a top shelf margarita(with Grand Mariner) and it had very little tequila and had very little favor. The pitcher was full of melted ice and it tasted like water. We drank the pitcher and when we paid our bill I told the cashier that the food was ok but the margarita was terrible. We paid $20 for a half pitcher of water. If I go back I will diffidently complain if the margarita is not right or just get a house margarita.Also, the salsa is like eating tomato juice with a few pieces of cilantro floating around. read more

Dined in with my parents who stated this was a newer restaurant. This place was fantastic! I wish I didn't live 100+ miles from this restaurant. We went at about 7 PM on a Saturday night. We got a table right away, but the place is on the smaller side so it can fill up quickly. Being a vegetarian, I ordered the veggie combo E: bean burrito, cheese enchilada, and cheese quesadilla. Pretty standard order for me at any Mexican restaurant. I also got a small margarita on the rocks. The food was exactly as expected: piping hot and delicious. Margarita was a bit strong, but very good. My parents ordered the special they had that night: acapulco. One had chicken, one had steak. I don't know exactly what it was, but they both liked it a lot. Service was great, would definitely recommend. Rolling down I75 in NW Ohio can be challenging in some respects. When my colleagues and I were in need of some grub, we yelped our way to this place. Of course, it's Mexican food in a small strip mall. Don't let that discourage you. Authentic Mexican that's fast and well-priced just off of the highway was very much appreciated. I had a combo with a small burrito, an enchilada and a chile relleno. Boy was that good. One of my colleagues had the tacos al pastor which were reported to be awesome. We agreed that this place was an awesome find considering the circumstances. If you need to make a stop in Lima and desire something that's a clear step or three above a drive-thru, try out El Cazador. You won't be disappointed. PS. Service was perfect too. read more

Everything was great. The service was professional, fast and gave us many suggestions on what we normally like. The margaritas here are on point. Not too sweet or overly strong. This is easily the best Mexican restaurant in Lima area. I strongly suggest the carnitas. It may have been the best I have ever eaten. read more

A friend referred me to El Cazador while I was in town for business. I'm originally from the area but had not tried this place yet. The food was amazing! The salsa is flavorful & thick. I had the enchiladas rancheros and everything was so delicious. Salsa and guacamole are the two things I judge the most at a Mexican restaurant and I was very impressed with both. This place is legit good, def the best Mexican food in Lima hands down. La Cha who? There is a new sheriff in town! The salsa is kickass, tacos are bomb, rice and beans spot on and the fajita options are a mile long! It's very reminiscent to authentic southwestern Mexican food. It's small, quaint and festive. The highlights of my lunch today were the salsa and the a la carte tamale. The salsa was indeed fresh with bright green cilantro and very tasty with warm tortilla chips. The tamale was a bit mangled, but nice and moist without being soggy. I had also ordered the dinner portion of carnitas. Not a big fan of this dish here. I can't quite describe where they went wrong, but it just tasted off. Some chunks were over cooked and dry and they just weren't seasoned very well. For the area, the food is really good. They place is small and the decorations really colourful. The staff is always super welcoming and friendly, he manger/owner takes time to come around the tables and check how everyone is. The service is fast and the drinks are great! If you're reading the reviews and still a little on edge whether or not this place is as good as they say it is, let this be the review to tell you it's true. We were but two weary travelers making our way back down to Louisville after a Cedar Point visit. Both my boyfriend and I were in the mood for Mexican and searched along our route for a place to eat. We settled on El Cazador after reading its reviews. As we pulled in though, we were still a little skeptical. They greeted us happily when we entered, and served us chips and salsa. After trying this, some of our skepticism went away. We ordered our food: a chicken fajita quesadilla for myself and a taco, enchilada, and refried beans for my boyfriend. It was some of the most delectable Mexican food we have ever had the honor of enjoying. Everything was cooked to the utmost perfection. Everything was marinated like *mwah*. The experience changed us for the better. Our only regret is not having larger stomachs. Would happily make the three and a half hour drive up here to enjoy again. read more
