We drove over here in our vehicles. I actually missed the right turn into the parking lot. I did quite the 360-degree turn into the parking lot to fix my boo-boo. I nabbed the closest spot to the back of the eatery. My friend was parked further back. We grabbed our birthday presents and walked in. The patio with floral accents looked lovely to enjoy a dining experience when we aren't under an orange alert for hail and thunderstorms! We were promptly greeted by a young woman. She said that there was only bar seating. It was fine. We got a cozy corner table. I got booth seating. I'm 5'10" and my feet did not touch the ground. My friend is a bit shorter than I am, so I'm glad that we sat where we were. Anthony was our server. He was exceptionally attentive and answered all questions that we had about our drinks and food. My friend got these items: - Water - Pina colada mocktail - Vegan ensenada enchilada The pina colada mocktail is vegan. She loved it. It looked yummy and festive. The downside was that a female staffer, maybe the manager, came over and said that there was no vegan cheese. It was a downer. It was 5:30 pm on a Saturday night. I typically don't. However, after not having any vegan cheese, I read them. We are probably the only folks who have experienced this issue, as Yelpers haven't experienced a shortage of it. Anyway, she loved her vegan enchilada plate despite not getting any vegan cheese. It looked amazing. She was stuffed and said that it was yummy. I ordered these items: - Diet Pepsi - Big D's burrito platter with shredded chicken I was thankful that I didn't have a large lunch and that we didn't order appetizers. The burrito was massive. It looked like a log in front of me, with rice, refried beans, and cheese, all bundled in a flour tortilla. My friend asked if the log had cheese on top. It was ancho mayo, which provided a smoky, tangy taste to each burrito bite that I had. It was delicious. The shredded chicken was tender. Everything in the burrito was perfect. It took me a long time to finish it. This platter had refried beans, rice, and salsa. I felt like I got twice the amount of refried beans and rice in this dish. It was extremely filling and flavourful. My friend asked me how many Diet Pepsi drinks I got. I kind of lost track. Shopping makes me thirsty. I also needed to down this massive burrito with a beverage or many. I think I had four drinks. It may be a record. Each one was cold, fizzy, and the perfect amount of syrup. We opened our presents. It was nice doing it in a quiet, practically private corner. It was the perfect place to celebrate us and catch up. My friend using the washroom first shortly after we had sat down.
