This place is better than what stat avg is giving. The service and atmosphere were great. Marg was good. Salsa was giving Tostitos unfortunately, wish it would have been more authentic. So my husband and I are fairly new to Grove City and wanted to try a new place for lunch before getting some shopping in. We found El Cannon on Yelp and decided to give it a try. We were honestly surprised about how good it was. (As of this review, I believe they had 3/5 stars.) Was the place packed, no. Was the service super friendly, also no. He got the job done and left us be for the most part. So neither good nor bad to be honest. That said, the food came out hot and was pretty tasty for the cost. Was it super authentic Mexican food, again no. But the portions were good and the cost was right so it's worth checking out for sure. This is our go to local Mexican spot. Is the food the most authentic Mexican food ever? No, but it's really good and incredibly priced. Where else can you get tamales and queso, chicken, and rice on the same menu? Their value meals are awesome too. Margs are amazing here too! Service is always super fast, we almost never can get through our chips in time. Always had an amazing pickup experience too. I really do not understand why the reviews are bad here. Stopped in here for a quick lunch. And it was not very busy which I liked because I knew our food would come out fairly quickly. I have been here previously & I have always gotten great service & the staff is all very nice. I went with the lunch fajitas which you have a choice between chicken or beef and you get a side of rice & beans, guacamole, sour cream, lettuce. All very yummy! I believe they charge 10.75 for the lunch fajitas which I think if fairly priced! The salsa is your average salsa, still very tasty & I love their chips only because they are cooked to perfection every time. The atmosphere is your typical Mexican restaurant but still very welcoming & clean. I will definitely be back. I know it can get pretty busy in there during dinner rush. read more

Overall I would not make this restaurant my top priority of places to revisit. I was looking for a new restaurant to visit since moving to the area. Upon arrival we were seated. After 10 minutes of sitting a waitress finally arrived to take our drink order. After this, we ate chips and salsa, after running out and the waitress not checking in another waitresses noticed we had no chips, salsa, or drinks and offered to refill. Our waitress finally came back to check in. Mind you there were only 2 other small families and it was not busy, it took over 30 minutes for the food to arrive and it was a different waitress bringing the food. Both mine and my husbands food was cold, so I can only assume the food was finished long ago and our waitress was no where to be found. She did check in, after we finished our food. Another 10 minutes passed and after waiting we asked someone at the front sweeping the floors for a box and the check since it seems our waitress left us. They went to the back to try and find her. I would give this 4.5 stars. It is not a very large establishment, but they have a small bar area and plenty of seating, and some outdoor area too. I usually order take out, which is fast, and they will customize for you if you ask. Everyone is usually very nice. I have eaten inside 3 or 4 times, and it is good. If you are drinking beer, they always come by to ask if you want another before your cup goes dry, which to me, is awesome! The food is great! They have a diverse selection of Mexican and Tex max food here. You will not go hungry! My favorite is the chorizo burrito, with chorizo and chicken, peppers and onions, with cheese sauce. So I've been wanting to try this place for a little while and we finally did. So the service was subpar unfortunately. The food was good but we ordered cheese dip that never arrived despite being charged for it. When the bill was brought I told the server that we never received it who then took it to the white guy at the front whom I'm assuming was the manager. The server came back stating that the guy said he brought it to us...why would I make up not receiving the cheapest thing on our bill?! Then my sister took the young ones to the car while I waited for the to go entree I ordered and she was questioned about leaving before I paid. I can assure you that neither one of us would not pay then leave but I'm sure that can be seen since I left a large tip despite the service. My friend and I ate dinner here prior to our AR Workshop visit, which is within walking distance. I arrived first and was seated right away. The server asked me immediately what I wanted to drink, but I asked for a few minutes to decide. Another server brought me water and chips & salsa. The original guy came back for my margarita order. I asked for the 12 oz, rocks, and no salt. I got the larger serving with salt. Annoying, but I used a straw anyway so it didn't ruin my drink. When my friend arrived, she got the same, with salt. We honestly didn't realize we had the larger margs until our bills came and we were charged for the larger ones. I am assuming we received what we were charged for. Boyfriend and I met another couple for first visit. This is a very small restaurant and for a Sunday evening, there were only a few other customers. We started with chips and salsa. The salsa was homemade and very tasty however the chips were quite thick but ok. Didn't seem fresh. We ordered a side of queso dip which was ok. I ordered Popeye which is Chicken, Spinach, Onions, and Mushrooms with a sprinkle of cheese. It was good but no wow factor. I poured the cheese dip we had leftover and it made it better. The Mexican rice and beans (added a side which are not pictured) were really good. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive to our table. First of all the service is better than ratings reflect in my opinion. They are not the chatty entertainer types, but they are attentive without being intrusive, very accommodating to late arrivals and substitution requests, always get orders right, never mind keep and return items left on their patio... On to the food: I've been on a seafood kick lately, and discovered some fantastic and super affordable seafood dishes here, as well as a "house hot sauce" not on the menu or typically served unless specifically requested. Great non-chain addition to Grove City! I stopped in here last night with my husband and friends and he was just what we needed. Great prices, drinks, food and service. Warm chips and fresh salsa immediately upon sitting down. I had a 32 ounce Michelob Ultra ($4.99!) and my friend had a strawberry margarita which she loved. Everyone at my table ordered something different. Food arrived quickly and was hot. My husband loved his chorizo burrito which was the size of something from a Man vs Food challenge. One of our friends had enchiladas, his wife had pork tacos and I had the chimichangas. Everything except for the pork tacos was awesome. Our friend said they were fatty and they came deconstructed which was odd. My meal and my husbands came to $35 for 2 dinners and 2 32oz beers. Not bad. This restaurant seems to have changed ownership or family running the place this year. The food was good and served quickly. The 4 chicken enchiladas verde $14 were good but lacked enough verde sauce. The menu items are a bit pricey. 4 soft tacos were $11. Special drink Pineapple Mojito in a 10 oz glass was $11 ! The previous time in August I got two chili relleno and they had shrunk to the size of large jalapenos. They used to be twice as large. Now you need to order 2 meals or fill up on the warm chips and the good salsa. read more
