The team in the triage work fast. They got me in quick. I then had a lady do the registration paperwork when I was given a bed. This place does not seem busy. It looks like the staff has a great relationship with each other. It seems like a friendly environment but if you're a travel nurse you might have some trouble fitting in. However, I had a great travel nurse take care of me. I was finally seen by a doctor named Christina Hernandez. She ordered a lot of exams to try and figure out what was wrong with me. Unfortunately we did not find a solution but she did recommend I follow up with a specialist. I give this place 5 stars because this medical team helped me feel better in a time of need with great service and compassion Although I did not get a solution I was satisfied with the effort I was given. I walked into a waiting room packed with frustrated, visibly sick people who had clearly been there for hours. One girl who had arrived around the same time as me had completely given up and was asleep on the floor. I had already passed out before getting there due to severe dehydration and illness, which is why I was brought in by ambulance in the first place. I came in dealing with intense vomiting, diarrhea, dehydration, and extreme weakness. Given how serious my condition was, the care I received was incredibly disappointing. After my IV was placed, I was not properly monitored, and the IV tubing ended up filling with my blood. This caused me to pass out again, making an already frightening situation even more traumatic. It was nearly impossible to get anyone's attention when I needed help. My fiancé and I would stop doctors and nurses passing by to ask for assistance, only to be told we needed to wait for our assigned nurse or they would simply look confused and walk away without helping. That was absolutely unbelievable. After getting sick and having severe diarrhea, no one offered assistance, not even something as simple as wipes. I ended up sitting in soiled clothes for almost two hours until my fiancé had to ask a security guard to watch me so he could run to the car and grab clean clothes. Trying to get more IV fluids felt like pulling teeth, and several staff members were unnecessarily rude to my fiancé, even though he was just trying to help me. I spent about four hours stuck in an uncomfortable wheelchair while feeling incredibly weak and sick. At one point, I was so desperate for help that I was begging my fiancé to take me somewhere else. Accessibility was another major issue. None of the doors, including the bathroom doors, had handicap accessible buttons, so every trip to the restroom was a struggle for both me and my fiancé. I will say the doctor I saw was kind and professional, and I appreciated that. Unfortunately, that was one of the only positives. The emergency bed was uncomfortable, the blankets were thin, and the entire hospital felt freezing. To make matters worse, when I was finally discharged around midnight, no one even offered a wheelchair to help me get to the car despite knowing how weak I was. I had to slowly walk, hunched over and barely able to support myself, while my fiancé helped me every step of the way. At that point, I just wanted to get out of there. Overall, this was one of the worst ER experiences I've ever had. The ambulance staff were far more compassionate and helpful than most of the ER staff. If I could give zero stars, I would. I was just passing through on a road trip and never expected to be treated this poorly. Unfortunately because El Centro is literally in the middle of nowhere there are not much options so El Centro Regional hospital uses that to provide less than mediocre service to their patients. A mass was found in my kidney and I've been trying for weeks to get the results to my doctor but nothing is moving. I even went to the imaging center in person to sign forms and it didn't speed things up. Oh and when I had the appointment for the ultrasound? They claimed I had no appointment. A nurse at this hospital once told me in an exasperated tone "Doing things quickly is how you save lives. Unfortunately that's hard to find around here." He was mad because my IV line was placed incorrectly and he had to redo it. It's unfortunate what a joke this place is. My husband and I arrived at the hospital around 3:30 a.m., worried about a possible miscarriage. The night staff promptly took me in, asked questions, and the nurse Mona assisting us explained the steps they would take. The ultrasound technician and lab staff saw me quickly, and before her shift ended, the Mona updated us, letting us know they were waiting for radiology to review my ultrasound. By 9 a.m., we asked for an update, and the morning nurse said they had messaged radiology for information. At 10 a.m., my husband followed up again, and the nurse responded that urgent patients might be prioritized--implying our case wasn't as important. When my husband pointed out that we had been there since 3:30 a.m. and the ER had been empty, she went silent. Another nurse stepped in, apologized, and assured him they had sent another message to radiology. About 45 minutes later, a different nurse finally spoke with us but provided no helpful information due to being so early in the pregnancy only leaving us feeling more frustrated and unsupported. 11:30am we were finally discharged with no answers and feeling hopeless. This has been the far worst care I have received from any hospital and btw we didn't see or talk to ANY DOCTOR just the nurse practitioners. Shoutout to the night nurse MONA in the ER, who truly cares for patients. read more

Their image department is understaffed and they over book them selfs with patients. So much that the wait is about 3 hrs just for a simple x-ray that was done in less than 10 min. I am beyond impressed with my situation with ECRMC. Linda my pre op nurse, to Dr Cabrera my anesthesiologist, to Jenny my nurse, to Rick and of course my nurse Karla were all fantastic!! Do not come here!!! I repeat DO NOT COME HERE!!! I was brought in around 1:00pm for a severe strep throat. Or so I thought it was strep throat. Anyway I walked in with my parents and waited about 15 minutes until we were brought into this nurses room where two nurses at two chairs were sitting. This is basically the waiting room / entrance to the hospital. The nurses took my vitals asked me what was going on and just gave me ibuprofen and Tylenol. What I've already taken the previous days. She then made me take this liquid that would "numb" my throat but I advised I will choke if I drink that since my throat is so sensitive. None the less drank it and I almost threw up right there in that little nurse room.... They then sent us to the waiting room which was basically just outside of that room. We were seen by the dr a little while later for 5 minutes. He explained to me that I did not have strep throat and had an actual virus in my throat. They mentioned that they would give me IVS since I haven't eaten in 5 days, nor could keep food down. I was feeling like I wanted to die. The Dr assured me I'd be fine and to go wait in the waiting room till we were called. My family and I waited 4 1/2 hours in the waiting room. And I was in so much pain I couldn't take it anymore and had to leave the room. The Dr. didn't even call us back, they did not give us a bed, nor did they give me any IVS that the PROMISED ME! Nurse Alejandra mentioned something about anxiety and how she'll ask the dr if he can also give me something in my IVS for that as well. I'm thinking, I'm waiting for my bed, I'm going to get some IVS. After all my dad had been pleading with them that their son was Miserable. (Me) my dad clearly stated that although it's a virus and it has to see it's course, if there's ANYTHING they can give me for the incredible pain I'm in and discomfort. They said they would be able to..... 4 hours go by and I couldn't take it anymore. I was about throw up from the pain in my blisters in my throat. On the way out apparently the Dr. told my mother that I don't need ANY IVS and that I can go home!! Can you believe that? After hours of waiting and suffering in the waiting room they really just sent me home to deal with the incredible discomfort. Now I'm at home 4 days after leaving the hospital, still in a great amount of pain and discomfort. Not to mention they swabbed by throat and said they'd call in a few days for the results? I've called since and it says if you want results for any labs you must put in a request and that can take up to 10-15 days. What a joke at this point. I really think that the hospital is trying to run through the patients that come in with the two nurses at the front and the front desk lady's that check you in. Hardly did I see anyone go back in the actual hospital. Don't come here. Run far from here. I'll be writing this up the the medical board as well. Upon arrival I proceeded to registration area with my father in wheel chair. There was no one at the first window. Pushed him to second window and could see three staff members chit chatting leaning against door. I waited for amount to see if would acknowledge my presence. No they didn't until I tapped on the window. The heavier set woman came to window and asked if I needed something. I said yes. I needed to register my dad. She asked if I had spoken to nurse and I replied no. She aid I needed to speak to one first. I asked where wa the nurse. Annoyed she told across the room to door opened. I went in and found two nurses sitting chit chatting away and again I needed to get their attention. My father told this was that he had been there two days prior. So the male nurse was taking vitals and the female got on computer and asked a few questions before asking the name. When I gave it she was surprised to see he was still in system. I made the comment that my dad had just stated it. Now this is 11:30 pm a I may have sounded annoyed. I apologized for abrupt answer and stated it was a long day. The male then mumbled no joke I've had a long as well in a rude manner and that both walked our without an explanation. Another nurse comes and completes some question and tells to go to registration. We sat in the super cold waiting room for about 30 minutes before the first male nurse comes and rudely says he going to take my dad to get vitals which what was doing when we first got there. My dad is 92 and doesn't hear well. He cones back and drops him off without a word. We sat there for another 45 min approximately without a followup from anyone. My experience here was horrific. Please do not come here if you need urgent care. We came in at midnight, because I thought my amniotic fluid is leaking from my pregnancy, which is extremely fatal for both myself and the baby. The office was empty and there were 3 people ahead of me. I wasn't seen until 3 am and that's why they decided to run a bunch of tests, they ended up telling me that the OBGYN dept is closed and I had to go to Brawely, after waiting for 3 hours already. I then respectfully asked the nurse, who was making jokes at the other male nurse, when am I going to be seen since the people after me had been seen already and she said if I wanted to leave i am more than welcomed to leave, she told me that they prioritize other people ahead of because my case was not urgent. I could've died and so did my baby. The nurses name was Vivian. She literally told me off and told me to eff off. When I was finally seen my the doctor, I was in tears, the person who saw me( I'm assuming is the DR) Victoria was super nice and helpful. The nurse Vivian then walked in and pretended to be nice to me in front of the doctor. Thank you Victoria for your help; People like Vivian needs to be investigated and fired, I'm not asking you to emphasize with me, I'm simply asking you to act like a human being and stop being so two faced. I could only imagine how she treats and abuses her elderly patients when no one is looking. Maybe she was going through something her self like a miscarriage, but there's no reason to be treating others like that. I hope she finds peace with herself. Vivian, If you hate your job that much then maybe it's time for a change of careers. If you cared about your patients more than flirting with your coworkers maybe you wouldn't hate yourself that much. The facility is extremely dirty, I left around 6 am. I was there for a total of 6 hours for them to tell me they can not do a FERN test to confirm my diagnosis. I'm sure ER visits are not supposed to be pleasant. But Vivian had made my experience horrific. Maybe there's a reason why the stop funding on their OBGYN department and shut it down. Look at the other reviews they have! I took a chance, it's been years and the ER service time is still horrible. I went in because I have swelling of left ankle and feeling very dizzy. I checked in at noon and didn't leave until 8:30pm. They drew blood and the lab paperwork said it was completed at 1415hrs. I explained my history to the Dr. who was more concerned with my Blood Pressure than the stone. After a few hours in severe pain (which would explain the blood pressure) the Dr. ordered a CAT Scan then decided to admit me for cardiac reasons (Blood Pressure) Once in a room, a nurse came in and stated that the Urologist who had not yet seen me wanted him to insert a catheter. I refused and checked myself out against Medical Advise Total Cost for them doing absolutely nothing ($14,700), drove to an Emergency room in San Diego and in less than an hour a female Dr. provided me a local anesthetic and removed the stone without any complication or concern for my Blood Pressure total Cost $678.00. read more

On Saturday, July1,2023, I took my wife into the emergency room, at approximately-:00 A.M., for treatment of a terrible pain on her left leg. She was seen my a nurse who then ordered blood work and an ultrasound, which came back negative... her pain continued to become more and more unbearable...at about 5 in the morning she was told that there was nothing wrong with her, to go home and take Tylenol, and if the pain persisted, to come back... She asked the nurse that if there was nothing wrong then why the unbearable pain, to which she was told to return if the pain continued. She went home..... on Wednesday July 4, I took my wife to Scripps Hospital in La Jolla, Ca, and after an examination by a Doctor, she was told that she possibly had an inflammation on the sciatic nerve, and that Tylenol would do nothing for her pain... she was then given some pain meds and a shot to reduce the inflammation on the sciatic nerve, and given a prescription for pain medicine and also some meds to reduce the inflammation on the sciatic nerve.... she was also referred to a neurologist for follow up... ECRMC staff are so incompetent in that they could have done a better job in tending to my wife's pain.... no wonder everyone goes out of the Valley for medical treatment read more

I've refrained from posting negatively on this medical facility in the past but enough is enough. For years I have brought my mom here who has battled cancer twice, has had several blood transfusions and ER visits within the past 7 years here at ECRMC. Early this morning I brought her in for COVID vaccine side effects (vomiting). I know this is a possible reported side effect, but in my mother's case, it is concerning because she has a condition that may cause her to aspirate, or choke, on her own vomit, risking a pneumonic infection. I have mentioned this several times now to the same medical staff that have been working with her this whole visit. They asked if she could swallow a pill. I told them no, she'll choke. The nurse went to consult with another nurse and I clearly heard the second nurse said "ohh she can't swallow? What, is she just being dramatic?" Another nurse came in and was being sarcastic and rude because I told them my mom needed to use the restroom but she was feeling dizzy. There is nothing more concerning and gut wrenching than dealing with hospital staff that act like they hate their job. It makes me fearful of the lack of professionalism and general intelligence of the staff here to safely and thoroughly care for my mother and all of their other patients. My point is, if your emergency can "wait", take your loved one to pioneers memorial hospital in Brawley. The quality of care from ECRMC has greatlydiminished throughout the years. It's quite unfortunate because there are some gems (nurses, doctors, CNAs, phlebotomists) that work here but it simply isn't enough to make for a positive overall experience. read more

Brought my 3 year old daughter and i was so hesitant because of the bad reviews on here and wanted to take her to Brawley but she needed to be seen asap as she has asthma . They took us in right away got all of our information took her vitals and brought us in a room all within 15-20 minutes. Everyone is very friendly ! The Respitory team is as well very nice she gave us a dinosour mask which was perfect so my daughter loved it and put on the mask . Later she fell asleep and didnt want the mask so she went to get a different tube which was much better !! I wouldn't let them take care of my dog! I was in excruciating pain and barely able to talk or move. I was dumped in the hallway in the most uncomfortable chair and no call light, and no privacy. The only way I had any relief from the pain was to have my feet up which only helped a little. The nurse I had was extremely rude to me. Told me to put my feet down. When I told her I couldn't because of the pain she said yes you can and came over and picked my feet up and dropped them down to the floor. I could feel the pain shooting through my whole body. She never even offered to help reposition me or find something that she was ok with having my feet up on. I was accused of being uncooperative by nearly every staff person that had any contact with me. I was trying to do my best but I had 10/10 pain. Like how much can you do under those circumstances?? She finally did get around to giving me something for the pain which helped a little. I was eventually allowed to go to the restroom. But I took too long and the nurse came banging on the door and barges in telling me to get up now because she had things she needed to do and she was very demanding and forceful. I said I can't get up right this second that I needed a few more minutes. She wasn't going to accept that answer and makes me stand up. I tried to clean myself up as best as I could but she gave me no privacy and I didn't have a chance to do a proper job. She didn't even let me wash my hands or button my shorts up before she throws the door open and tells me to go sit in my chair! This was totally disgusting. I've never been thrown off a toilet while in the middle of doing my business. It felt like a bad dream. Then the lab draw person comes to draw blood. I had a difficult time holding still enough for a needle stick and she starts tapping around on my wrist exactly where a doctor attempted to draw blood a few weeks prior and he started fishing around and hit my nerve. I couldn't use my hand for 2 hours due to throbbing pain. Then it went numb for the rest of the day. So I wasn't going to let her do the same thing to me I. I couldn't explain all of that at the time because talking was difficult. I managed to say not there. She takes the tie off and rudely asks me where she should draw the blood. How am I supposed to know? I'm in 8/10 pain at the time! I can't do her job for her! She takes my other arm and looks for a vein while I'm twisted sideways holding my arm out as still as I can. Until i couldn't handle it and told her she is going to have to come back later to do that. So she got angry and runs to tell the nurse I'm being uncooperative. There's that word again! Nurse comes and says that I NEED to let her draw blood that I was on my way to getting kicked out of there for not cooperating. I knew it was a bad decision to come here in such a situation. I was in a most vulnerable state and absolutely needed help but I wasn't going to get any help here. My dad finally shows up and 20 minutes later my pain disappears as quickly as it came on. I had my dad take me to get the other vehicle which was parked just a few blocks away so he could go home and get ready for work and I went back so she could take the Saline lock out of my arm rather than do it myself. And I was leaving AMA. I wasn't going to stick around to continue getting abused now that I felt so much better. As soon as she saw me walk back in she started saying I NEEDED to do this and I NEEDED to do that because she already signed me out. As if she thought I would stick around perhaps she thought I liked to be abuse or I was stupid enough to put up with it. I told her she has no right treating people like she had been treating me and how could she even call herself a nurse. Now that I could talk! Worst day of my life. Nobody has ever treated me so badly before. I don't know what I did to make her hate on me so bad besides maybe I was breathing her air! What I didn't say is that I am retired now but I worked as an RN for many years in Seattle, Australia, and other places. And there is no excuse for that type of behavior I don't care how busy you are. The care provided here is second rate. If you can make it to Brawley or San Diego even better. After reading other reviews I'm in shock I think that they are even still in business. This girl who thinks she is a nurse, has no idea about what compassion is or how to be a patients advocate, which is the primary role of a nurse. She is a rude and disgusting bully who is abusive and doesn't even realize how close she came to being arrested for assault that day. Because I had all I could take. And I had every right to do exactly that. Take it from somebody who knows what it's like to be an RN. It's fast paced and stressful but you don't let it get under your skin. If I can give a negative star I will! You guys suck. From medical staff to finances. When I had my son 13 years ago, I still remember, a nurse gave me a nasty remark cuz I was in pain and young. When my son was 1 he had to go to the emergency room. They needed my insurance card and they lost the information 5 times! And they sent me to collections I have not been to that hospital at all in 12 years since I do not live there and now I get a collections of over 2,000! You guys should be shut down. Never will I move back home because my only option for a medical career will be that place. And if my children get sick there, we will be doomed.
