I've had El Chilote taco catering a few times now, and it never disappoints. I recently used them for a party, and they were a huge hit with everyone--multiple people were asking me for their info by the end of the night. Everything is always fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with a lot of care. The citrus chicken is hands down my favorite--super juicy with the perfect balance of tangy and savory. And the cilantro lime sauce? Absolutely amazing. It ties everything together and adds such a fresh, bright kick to the tacos. On top of the food, the service is always friendly, professional, and easy to work with. You can really tell there's passion behind what they do. We always try and visit their pop ups, and they bring the chillest vibes. Bringing friendly faces, bomb food, and the most helpful hands anyone can ask for. Let me start off by saying, we first tried Chilote at a Brewery in Pico Rivera called Brewjeria. I instantly feel in love with the tacos de nopal and pollo. Tortillas made from fresh corn masa( purple and yellow) Then came the smash chorizo tacos! So delicious and flavorful! And you cannot forget his Birria tacos , and mulitas, honestly the man does it all. And it's ALL DELICIOUS!!!! The Al pastor wings were my boyfriend's favorite: super crunchy as you take that bite and the Al pastor sauce on them was super flavorful and juicy. The tacos Gobernador: wow. First of all, I love shrimp so this in a taco with melted cheese?!? Wow. It was amazing. The pickled onions to top it definitely added some awesome texture. The chorizo smash taco: super flavorful and juicy as you take a bite. Crunchy flavor on the outside, Texture is everything. It's a very meaty taco too! The birria taco: man where do I start.. super flavorful. My favorite of them all to be honest. The meat tastes fresh and it's on a hand- made tortilla?! El Chilote was serving food at Evans Brewing Co. in Corona, CA on Friday night. Since it was a Friday during Lent, I only tried their shrimp tacos...and they were amazing. One thing that really set El Chilote apart from other tacos spots is all their tortillas are handmade. The shrimp tacos came with their yellow corn tortilla. You can rally tell the difference in taste and texture with these handmade tortillas. There was cheese grilled onto the tortilla, and a tasty sauce added to the tacos. I ate the first one with out adding any of their red salsa, which was also very enjoyable. My wife got mulitas, one shrimp and one birria and enjoyed them both. I plan on trying these guys again and having some of their birria tacos so that I can try their blue corn tortillas. If you find them at a local brewery I would definitely suggest that you give them a try. read more

We have been enjoying El Chilote's pop ups at different breweries for year! Delicious food and great customer service every single time. When deciding on a caterer for our baby shower, choosing El Chilote was a no brainer. One, because I absolutely love tacos and their homemade tortillas are mouthwatering, but also their attention to detail when it comes to quality meats and toppings is unmatched. We chose three meat options, asada, chicken, and pastor, with ceviche as an appetizer, rice, beans, and a Jamaica drink. Everything was delicious. Met up with them at the Mt. Lowe's Brewery in Arcadia. Looking on Yelp first I was excited to see that they were serving Birria. Being the first time trying their food, I decided to try all three meats they offered in tacos: Birria, Chicken, and Shrimp. All were excellent! The Birria did not disappoint, so moist & tasty I forgot to ask about any consume. The chicken was also tasty, nicely grilled and seasoned. As for the shrimp, I was surprised it was presented in a quesadilla style tortilla shell, the shrimp were perfectly cooked with that light bite to it. Sorry I couldn't get a good photo as the outside eating area was dimly lit. Didn't get to try their Agua Frescas as I'd normally order with tacos, but will next time if I'm not having beer. The birria is amazing, I can't get enough of it, especially with the consomé dip and the handmade tortillas. I have eaten just about. Everything that is served on the menu and I strongly recommend the chicken tacos, the sauce that they use is out of this world.
