El Corte Inglés is a huge department store over 8 floors in Barcelona, yet it is a store dwarfed by another branch of El Corte Inglés on the Plaça de Catalunya, also in Barcelona, but moving back to the review in question, this store is impressive mainly down to its size, it feels like a mall in a way with 8 floors and an extra 2 floors of parking. The size of the store can be mixed, in a way it is good as it is slightly smaller than the other branches but still has a good range, and is slightly less busy too, which is a good thing as it means for me, a nicer shopping experience. There is a restaurant on the top floor, known as Floor 5 meanwhile there are two floors after the 0 Floor / Ground called SS and S, the bottom floor "S" has customer services, in this store you can find a lot of things from fashion for men, women and children to a small Dietics supermarket and cosmetics, bags, jewelry, gifts and furniture, the later all being on the -1 / SS floor. The staff around the mall didn't seem too welcoming or friendly or even active in engaging with the customers which is the shame. For me however, this store even with the store guide at the front in english as well as spanish, was just too difficult to navigate and that was a real shame, and although the size of this store is impressive, it is pretty much an average department store in terms of range, and is perhaps too big, which is shocking knowing this is only Barcelona's second largest branch of the chain. read more

Nice little food hall and gourmet supermarket down below with a premium fruit section. If I had more time, I'd come here more often. Exterior of building could use some updating. read more

Department store that sells luxury brands like Louis Vuitton on the ground floor AND has a grocery store in the basement. The grocery store level has a huge selection of Iberain ham. When you order the ham, the employee will hand carve it for you. They also sell amazinginbly delicious smoked salmon. Fun. One of the few department stores in Spain. This is definitely one of the biggest El Corte Ingles locations in the city. They have a pretty decent variety of merchandise of all sorts: Women's, Men's, Kids, Housewares, Sporting Goods, Electronics... everything. What sets this one apart from the other Corte Ingles stores is the supermarket below is huge. So I make that special trip here for the things I can't find at my local tiny caprabo. Also, they have a good coffee selection in the gourmet section. I made the mistake of coming here today, the 5th of January - which is like trying to go shopping on Dec. 24th in the States... It was a madhouse - I had to get out of there. fast. Well, the one at Plaza Catalunya is also insane in the evenings... so i guess sometimes you just have to suck it up, and go. read more

Shopper's heaven. Supermarket foodie haven. You name it and they will have it... I'm not exaggerating when I say this place has everything. You can dress yourself head to toe, find everything & anything for your home, and then there's an amazing gourmet supermarket that you would expect in Barcelona's bigger department stores. The market is impressive. There butcher stalls have incredibly beautiful meats, there are jamon stalls, tapas bars, cheese stalls, and don't forget the fresh patata fritos and chicharrones that you can purchase by the weight. I come for one item and leave with a bag(s) full... This is a great place to get lost. There are random escalators that make no sense and I've lost my sense of direction many many times. This is the second biggest El Corte Ingles in Barcelona. This is located on the Avinguda Diagonal about 20-30 minutes from the flagship El Corte Ingles. This is a little less hectic to shop in as opposed to the flagship store, which becomes super hectic after 6pm. read more

I went in thinking that I can pick up some local stuff for gifts... wrong! This is an up-scale department and because of the global retailing, I may as well be shopping on Fifth Avenue (or Saks). As any Spanish native knows, you go to the basement of El Corte ingles for a wonderful supermarket. The olive bar alone is worth a visit. Diverse selection of wines from every region in Spain are another. They also have things like energy bars that are difficult to find elsewhere in Spanish markets. read more

I am so in love with Sfera, which is carried here at Corte Ingles, and just wish a) I could get my hands on their stuff when I'm not overseas, which is rare, and b) that they made sizes for husky American girls - I found a top I loved, but the large hardly stretched across my giant linebacker shoulders. :( Wish I had ever thought to visit the bottom level - two different trips to Spain and to this shop, and I've never ventured down! read more

Unbelieveable place. It has eight floors of merchandise & services and has every conceiveable item for sale that you would find in an entire mall in the US. Just a partial list of what you can find in the store: travel agency, clothes for men women, chidlren and infants, jewelery, tabacco, home furniture, plants & flowers, hardware, appliances big and small, full kitchen store & bathroom store, bakery, pharmacy, wedding service, dry cleaners, banking, insurance, perfurmery, music, electronics, photography store & services, furs, post office, optician, full blown supermarket, event ticket sales, hair salons, shoe repair, food court on one floor, restaurant on another, cafe on yet another. It has three floors of parking below it. It is a shopper's Disneyland. It was two blocks from our hotel and we could not resist going in and getting a bottle of water. As visitors we were given a glass of wine and an order of tapas, free. Some of Sam Walton's DNA must have found itself in Spain at some time. read more

I love Europe and their super stores! I went here on my last full day out in the city. The lower level is a super market along with a specialty store with rare goods. The upper level reminds you of a department store with their many levels and departments to shop in. I came here mainly to find my best friend a birthday gift which I did. So hard to resist buying something for myself though! It gets quite busy in there, so if you hate the hustle and bustle, try weekdays. read more

A giant department store that has just about anything you could possibly want. They carry a lot of brands you will not see in the US. Certainly a higher end price point but with the selection and just sheer volume of merchandise you will find what you are looking for. I loved it! read more

shop online this store,i receive my item but the size was too small ,i returned it and reordered a new one ...for the past 5 weeks now they refused to pay me my refunds .i have called severally but their customer service is very bad.will never shop with them anymore,and will not recommend them to friends. read more
