When we go to Marfa, we would walk the grounds here and always say "next time let's stay here"...we finally did! It was a toss-up between a teepee or yurt. Since it was a couple of days before Christmas and the desert can get cold, we opted for the yurt. The yurts offer heating and cooling while the teepee only offers a fireplace, which makes sense...it's a teepee and you have to do it the way it's meant to be. The yurt was roomy and the bed comfy. We stayed warm too! Loved sitting out on our little porch/deck to watch the stars. The main office area also has a shop and place to sit and eat, etc. They've got a bar and outdoor patio (all communal) as well. Showering outdoors (common bathrooms are a very basic outdoor shelter) definitely added to the primitive aspect of staying here. It was a wonderful experience and the best time we're doing a teepee! read more

Great spot for glamping if that's what you are looking for. We have been here once before in teepees and a trailer so decided to stay in yurts this trip. Was worried that we'd be cold at night in February but the yurt had a heater and a heated blanket so we were warmer than expected. The toilets and showers are in an outdoor open air structure that has warm water but bring your own soap and shampoo.. do wish they had a mirror by the sink.. while attention to detail was not spared in the landscape, decorations, and layout of the faculties.. a simple mirror would have completed the experience. This is a tough one to get started. Given to us by Liz Lambert the hotelier, and hospitality guru. She does stuff right, with flair and creativity. Usually, you can expect the bar to be set high at her properties. El Cosmico is now 17 years old. Hard to believe since ive been keeping up with it in hopes of one day staying here. I finally made the trek way out to southwest Texas and it was imperative I stay at El Cosmico. Part campground, pasture, motel army camp, unique is an understatement. You have your choices of several types of stay be it, Teepee,Vintage House trailer, Safari tent,Yurt and others. Plans are in for an expansion next year involving 3D printed structures! I chose the Yurt this trip. Even though there was a common bath, I still wanted to experience the yurt. Im glad I did. Each one has independent climate control, heat, and air. I needed it one night as it got down to 32 degrees. it was interesting going out in the cold night air to the restroom!!! Not for everyone but, if you want to Glamp, this is definitely a great option if you're coming this way. The front lodge office has a great fireplace, free coffee, wifi, and a great place to hang out and meet new travelers from across the country. I read mixed reviews but booked a yurt for 2 nights on a drive adventure. What a great place! Very magical and perfect for me and 2 dogs. The yurt was equipped with a big bed, a sleeping size couch, two side tables and a table at the foot of the bed. It had heat, AC, electricity and a cute deck with table and chairs. Communal bathrooms, kitchen and showers all quite functional and clean. The grounds are so well kept while it maintained its funky style. The ambiance was special and I appreciated the attention to detail and community that El Cosmico is fostering. Unfortunately I can't give it more than 3 stars because I slept horribly in the canvas tent. First: The tent blew around all night creating extremely loud flapping sound. I thought there were gale-force winds outside and stepped out, nope, just a regular breezy evening. It was so loud both me and my companion barely slept at all. This is something that should either be fixed or at least warned about. I had ear plugs and the sound still went through. Second: A lot of noise from the nearby road Third: Our central lamp wasn't working, we only had our bedside lamps Fourth: our tents zippers were broken so we couldn't properly close the doors or screen on tent 18 I can't speak on the other sleeping accommodations, only the canvas tent. read more

Really fun, retro spot to stay. Wanted to stay here for years, but it's not like getting all the way out to Marfa is somethin' we can do often. Finally got to. Just stayed one night and planned to stay elsewhere in town the remaining night we had in town, for contrast (one night fun, one night fancy). We really liked the converted vintage campers, making them "permanent in place" is a neat idea. We weren't in town long enough to do all the things, but it seems worth another stay in the future and do the tee-pee or bungalos instead. The weather was pretty cool, so we can't speak for how effective the AC in the camper keeps it comfortable in extreme heat, but I believe it would get it done fine. My one and only reluctant complaint to not give a full five star is the bed/mattress was pretty uncomfortable, we both woke up sore. We weren't upset about it, knowing "it's not that kind of place". But even considering it's supposed to be fun and kinda roughin' it, it was a pretty worn down, depleated mattress. Maybe the box structure under it was a bit mis-shapen too. Not a deal breaker for us, we might come back and try the tents instead because they have totally different bedding that is easy/simple to replace and cheaper to update, etc., basically cots I think (not sure, didn't stay in one). Anyway, keep roughing it in mind, and if you don't have a fun side, it's probably not for you. But if you still like whacky different stuff once in a while, heck yeah, it's that for sure! Winter stay in one of the trailers. Kinda worried reading other reviews but this place was outstanding for the Southwest Slow vibe I was going for. Having done other camping experiences in the Southwest, I was definitely prepared for a lot of DIY (food, heat, toilet stuff). This place had enough of the essentials (heat, coffee, toilets) that it felt like a fancy camp without losing the "roughing it" vibe that's integral to SW "outdoors" experiences. The main building has a boutique shop, comfy couches, and good heat (again, winter stay) as well as a nice cup of coffee in the morning. Large trailer fit two adults and a kid; could have brought the dog and fit nicely. Two burner stove, very small fridge, and a big hot water tank made doing my own food easy without taking up all the inside space. Beds were comfy, warm, and clean. Heat worked well. Old trailer so the window and door seals were meh but the heater and warm blankets made up for it. If you go in winter bring some slippers or slides - the floor gets cold! Bring your own entertainment. This area is not a scene - classic camping in that you need to make your own fun. Books, puzzles, etc. Trailer had lots of outlets and a great Bluetooth radio speaker so music can play all day and night if that's your thing. I'm not sure I'd come out here in the middle of the summer because being in a trailer all day when it's 100+ isn't great. But this place would be a lot of fun to try in spring or autumn as well. I planned an entire trip around traveling to Marfa and staying at El Cosmico, booking a unique accommodation that has been on my bucket list for years. I booked well in advance with a confirmation that stated it was non-cancellable and that I would be charged if I canceled. I made non-refundable travel arrangements--airfare and car rental -- based solely on this stay. Imagine my shock when I received a generic form email from El Cosmico summarily canceling my reservation without warning, explanation, or apology. So apparently, guests are penalized for canceling, but they can cancel on you at any time with zero accountability. To make matters worse, while I received an email saying a refund would be issued, no refund has actually been processed. No follow-up, no outreach, no attempt to resolve the disruption they caused. This is not just bad customer service - it's a complete lack of professionalism and integrity. I expected better from a place with such a creative and curated image. Instead, I was treated with total disregard as a guest and left scrambling with sunk costs and no place to stay. I strongly urge others to think twice before booking here. So many fawning reviews! A testament to groupthink and sycophancy. This place is falling apart. There's no maintenance, according to another guest I spoke to, because Lambert is building a new, fancier hotel-thing nearby and is letting this one deteriorate. Every faucet leaks, some at high volume. Bathroom heaters don't work. There's actually a corded lamp HANGING OVER a shower nozzle/water pipe. Everything is dirty. My elderly mom's electric blanket was malfunctioning, and the staff just deflect: "There's another on the other side of the bed; she should have called maintenance, and they would have fixed it right away." Wow! Let me first start with, i read the reviews after already booking and got worried. Upon arriving, seeing the Pride flag on their pole and though out the city relieved the anxiety! Upon check in, Angie was so friendly and nice, and gave excellent recommendations. First day, we came in around 4pm to a couple walking around in towels, and a women standing in her Safari tent shirtless. I was curious to at first did i check into a clothing optional, but figured oh, she air drying from her shower! Anyhow we stayed in a tent, and it was just beautiful! It was raining and storming and we were worried at first but it bypassed and was just an excellent evening! 2nd day, we stayed in a yurt! What a beaut! The folks out and about we're so friendly, the bathrooms are very private and the showers are easy to use and comfortable temperatures. The place was neat, cleanliness and pure quiet. When they say, stay on the path - stay on the path because there are a lot of grass stickers! The hammocks are nice, the little kitchen area was good. It def was a safe and secure place and people were trustworthy and friendly. The only thing i would suggest, are two things - fire pits, bbq grills by the teepees, yurts and Safari tents AND because it's so hot, some steel stock tanks to cool off in around the property! Haha excellent place! Def will be back! Not as loud as people were saying, throw on a fan and get some white noise and you'll sleep excellent. El Cosmico is THE place to stay when you're visiting Marfa. Before you make the journey to west Texas, here are a few tips: 1. I would suggest setting up your own tent instead of booking a tent/yurt/trailer/teepee. You're technically still "glamping" with all the "amenities" included (ie: communal bathroom, one wifi spot, fresh coffee served in the morning) minus the extravagant costs 2. Pick your poison, either suffer the smoldering heat in the AM and cool down in the evenings (summer, spring, fall) or freeze in the AM & PM (winter). 3. Pack light! Paths are NOT paved, but rather unpaved via gravel (suitcases are a B to go back & forth) 4. Bring your own food & drinks, don't bother purchasing at the shop as they up-charge (still water costs $7) 5. Bring a flashlight or any other camping gear you have. Though there are some solar paneled lights along the paths, they are very dim. 6. Bring your own personal wifi, as wifi is only available at/near the shop/lobby We stayed in the Safari tent which included a queen bed, one extra thick blanket, one standing fan, two lamps, two towels, a trash bin, one dim light fixture, outlets, a wooden bench, console table and chair. Warning: NO A/C! We arrived at the normal check-in time (3 PM-ish), but noticed not many people were here. There's a reason why: it is scorching hot in the summer! Crowds started rolling in around 6 PM and later (shop/lobby closes at 8 PM). There are communal showers and toilets on the grounds, and yes, hot water IS included. Surprisingly, all were clean! What was also a nice touch was seeing the usage of Dr. Bronner's Soap everywhere (it's truly an all-purpose cleaner). There is also lots of space to take walks and see the grounds, our pups loved it! Traveling west from Austin to Phoenix, my wife and I stopped in Marfa for 2 nights to explore this wonderful, west Texas town. We stayed at El Cosmico in one of their teepees in February. The first night was VERY windy, so it was loud sleeping at night, but in a relaxing and calming way. With the fire pit going, plenty of blankets, and our electric mattress, we were able to stay plenty warm during the cold nights. We rented the Dutch tubs both nights and absolutely loved capping off our days under the stars. Highly recommend getting a Dutch tub reservation. The staff was extremely friendly, the checkin and our process was super easy, and it's in a great location to explore the town. read more

Only critique was that their system of emailing notifications about checkout etc wasn't super effective and caused some trouble for us since their campground doesn't have consistent internet. This place is so dreamy! It feels like we're back in the 70s! The trailers were my favorite but all the options - yurts, tents, tipis, etc were thoughtfully created. The XL Trailer was huge, with it's own bathroom and kitchen. It even had a nice seating area and a full closet. The outdoor shower didn't feel clean enough to use. And I have the same feedback for their shared facilities - wish there was a bit more upkeep of it. The they so many hammocks to enjoy sunsets from and your own outdoor seating area too. The second night we were in a yurt and it didn't hold a light to the trailer. It was pretty but dimly lit. Staying here was on a dream list & although it was good, it's only wonderful if you rent one of their places. We arrived in our own RV & paid $30 to park in the VERY dusty parking lot where we were not allowed to use our generator & there are no hook-ups. You also can't open your windows due to the dirt swirling everywhere. Funny part is, this campground is located by a busy road & a train track. So traffic is soooo loud, the generator would have helped everyone. The grounds are very pretty. We paid $85 to rent one of the wood-burning hot tubs, and although the hot tub is shaped like a guacamole bowl (super awkward) and definitely cannot accommodate more than two adults, we piled in as a family and four and really had a blast. It is clothing optional so we sent the kids back to the camper once other adults arrived. And yes, others were naked. All in all we would come back, but it definitely isn't on the list anymore. When we arrived at El Cosmico we were blown away by the super cool, hipster space. The energy was peaceful and inclusive and we felt right at home. When we stepped into our airstream the princess it was so hot, definitely felt like the Texas Sun was shining on it. The fridge wasn't cooling but immediately they allowed us to move to a tent that was super chill both in temperature and amenities. We were always greeted with super chill staff who helped us with our journey to big bend. They also provided great tasting coffee in the morning that we enjoyed. The best part of El Cosmico is definitely the view of the Texas sky at night. Wow, the stars at night are BIG and Bright at El Cosmico. This was an experience we will never forget. El Cosmico was the perfect spot for a sister trip. We reserved a Teepee and it was super cool! The set up was very nice and luxuriously furnished. We ended up staying in a camper because it was suppose to storm and the teepees are a tad bit open at the top. They kindly allowed us to get into a trailer, thank you Angela! The trailers are very nice as well! The beds, I can't say enough good things about them, I wish I could take it home and we spent several thousand on our bed at home. The comforters were very cozy. A good weight, not too heavy, not too light. Perfect!! The campgrounds are very clean and nice. The souvenir shop is a little pricey but they quality is there. Met a cutie named Oscar, very friendly and welcoming. He needs his own merch. I've told friends and family about our trip and 10/10 recommend staying if you're visiting Marfa. First I just feel so bad for the people who left 1 star reviews and didn't have a good time. My advice to those considering staying here is to first, temper your expectations. Even though this is considered some form of "glamping" the word camping is still part of this. Don't expect comfortable and cushy surroundings. You're still sort of sleeping outside. It gets cold. Yes it's off a main road. There's nothing 5 star happening here, despite the pricing. Ok? Do we understand each other now? K good! First recommendation, splurge on a large or extra large trailer. Don't mess with the teepees or safari tents. You'll have a much better time. Our trailer was awesome. It was clean. The bed was comfortable. We had a flushing toilet. The trailer came with a radio and we found this 24hr non stop radio station that is only exclusive to Marfa and plays undoubtedly the best music for your surroundings. When we were at the trailer we hung out a lot on the deck, relaxing to the quiet nothingness of the desert. Now to those dissatisfied with the customer service. Please remember where you are. This is West Texas. No one gives a rats ass about your lavish lifestyle and expectations back in LA or wherever. Look, the staff wasn't annoyingly smiling at us every 5 minutes. But they were nice. They did their jobs. We have no complaints about the staff. Yes the gift shop is unnecessarily expensive. But if you feel that way about it, don't buy anything. Do like we did. We bought two lighters and two bumper stickers lol. Done. Yes the free coffee is amazing. Wished it was available sooner than 8am. Pro Tip: Don't overpack! There's nowhere to put your stuff. Bring what you need and that's all. The only reason why I gave this place 4 stars instead of 5 is because I just think the accommodations are a little pricey. My only complaint is a bit of road noise. Otherwise, this place does the impossible: cool vintage trailers without being a trailer park, Tesla-designed Jupe, safari and teepee tents, and public spaces that are whimsical and practical. Short walk to restaurants and bars in town, less than 10 miles to Marfa alien lights, not far from Prada shoes, and on the way to Big Bend. Also new NPS site Blackwell School NHS in town. Apparently Marfa is quite the spot for hipsters, art & music aficionados, and others much younger and better looking than I. Ever since James Dean, Rock Hudson & Elizabeth Taylor filmed Giant in Marfa, it's been cool. Staff was very helpful and went extra mile to switch my accommodations on a whim without any hassle. Manage your expectations! Perhaps we were naive but we were expecting a boutique, retro-chic, stylish airstream experience. Unfortunately, the reality is, as one person mentioned, "these are just old ass' trailers". That's the reality. In addition, every accessory is the cheapest possible picked up at the local dollar store. No exaggeration, honestly. The gaps around the doors meant it was well below freezing at night. There was a heating/air con unit but the temperature gauge was broken. Honestly, you're better off in the wig-wams. Maintenance guy knew what he was doing. He seemed pretty busy. He fixed our door on day 2 after we'd needed to wedge it shut with the outdoor table overnight. I'd give it a high 3. Reception was great, overall a really chill environment. The bathroom at night gave me scary movie starter kit. A red light of all lighting. The bathroom also isn't really enclosed but more so a covered space. They have a sink, shower and inside your tent a fire place. The instructions for the fire place weren't all that direct as we couldn't get ours to click but eventually got it to turn on. Overall fun experience - I wish they had more community activities on site. The biggest moment was staying in the tent, wearing robes and taking pics but no real excitement outside of that. Priced reasonably and would maybe do again with more people. Our tent had two beds, a couch and the floor was concrete with two animal skin rugs at the bed side. The tent is loud but gets really quiet at night. No ac but there is a fan - when we went the tent was pretty cool. Would recommend for the experience! I have stayed at almost all of the Lambert's properties and trusted them to provide a clean, tasteful experience. Well not here. The unit my husband and I stayed in was horrid. The travel trailers are not necessarily refurbished as was the case with number 21. The bathroom floor was water damaged and required standing on the sides to make sure you didn't fall through the floor. When flushing the toilet sprayed water on your foot. I wouldn't bath my dog in the shower again something not maintained. I mentioned the bathroom floor to staff and although nice, did nothing. Also, although children are allowed the on-site gift shop offers nice but entirely inappropriate and some even offensive items. Lots of great places to stay in Marfa, this could've been, but "cool" goes just so far. read more

This place was really cool. A friend of mine went a few years back and told me I had to go because she knew I'd love it! We rented a tepee and the hot tub for a day. Yeah the hot tub was the worst $80 I spent but I definitely didn't take into effect that it would be over 100 degrees outside and the hot tub is the hottest tub I've ever stepped foot in. Never been in a Dutch tub and I wanted my son to experience it with me. It was so hot we could not go further than knee deep. Anyways the camp ground is super amazing, they have so many options of things to sleep in. The staff was super friendly and super chill. They had live music on one of the nights we were there and a food truck out front. Hammocks to lounge in all over. My son and I came out to check out the city and I'm glad we stayed here. The tepee was a great set up, even though it was extremely hot outside the tepee was not too hot. There was a fan inside. The beds were extremely comfy and I got some amazing sleep out there. The nights were cool and the sky stays lit so long. We stayed up past 11 just to see all the stars in the sky and it was a gorgeous sight! I highly recommend this place and if I'm ever in marfa again I will definitely stay here again. read more

Walking in El Cosmico after two days of dirty backpacking, I was afraid that I wouldn't look "glam" and "hip" enough, because most people visiting Marfa look like 1) they're from the Arts district in Austin, or 2) they're pregaming for Coachella. Most famous galleries and attractions in Marfa were shut down due to the 2020 pandemic. This town is so small you can memorize every left and right corner. Naturally, I didn't see the need to pay big bucks to one of the artsy hotels. My original plan wasn't to stay at El Cosmico either. But due to a last-minute itinerary change, I'm glad I reconsidered this place. I couldn't book one of the cool yurts, tipis, or trailers because there was a 4-night minimum stay. I paid $20 bucks for a night camping at this hippie heaven and it was so worth it: clean shelter, clean bathroom, free wifi, onsite hammocks, and complimentary morning coffees. The outdoor bath was so refreshing, I wish there was more of Marfa for me to stay. Reservation for at least 4 nights? For a touristsy town, Marfa has very unwelcoming operating hours. Most hotel bookings were online only. Some restaurants were even online orders for pick up only. With very limited options in the middle of nowhere Texas, I'm glad El Cosmico campsite is one that is always available. read more

Absolutely loved it! It's pet friendly yet it doesn't smell like poop and you don't see it all over the ground. We did not get to use the hot tub. It's ok though because we will definitely be back. My husband and I were looking to do something adventurous and slow for our one year anni. El Cosmico was the perfect place. We rented a tepee which was perfect for late February weather. It was about 80 degrees during the day and as low as 25 degrees at night. We were very fortunate that we had really nice weather during the day and at night. Some of you may ask how the heck 30 degrees "nice"? Well, Marfa have heated beds in all of the tepees, yurts, etc on site! They also have a warm (and contained) fireplace in the tepees. I noticed the tents didn't have them. Overall, we had an amazing time! Just enough to do and really tasty food where ever you go! Side note, I am by no means, a camper. I used to really dislike outdoor activities and pretty much avoided them like the plague. But this was soooo doable! I loved it and I really hope to return! Here are some tips that I would suggest for future guests: 1. Bring sunscreen (I got sunburned while riding bikes around town) 2. Bring a hat (while we're on the topic) 3. Bring cash! Some restaurants only take cash. 4. Bring shoes that you don't mind getting dirty (dirt everywhere!) 5. Bring a mirror! No mirrors in the tepees. 6. If you're not keen about using the outdoor restrooms and showers, you can always use the toilets and shower in the main house/lobby(?). Guilty! Marfa. I can't explain its allure, and some are probably wholly immune to its charms, but I am utterly seduced. Within hours of arrival, I found myself googling historical weather, history of the town...I was hungry for as much information as I could possibly get about this town, pop. 2,121. I intended to stay for one day. Within hours of arrival, I was figuring out how to stay for two. Halfway through my second day, I was googling real estate in Marfa, while rueful that work demanded that I get on the road again. I will be back. Soon and often. Maybe just to visit, but perhaps for more than that. I am envisioning my future life differently and it seems possible. El Cosmico, just outside town limits but less than a mile from everything in town, was the perfect first stay. A nomadic place. Winter Tips: If you're staying in winter and not really used to cold weather, bring layers of warm clothing and/or blankets. A hat, warm socks and even a face mask might be a good idea if staying in a teepee or tent below 40 degrees. Shower in the height of the midday heat (12-3) to avoid freezing and be able to air dry hair. Water: hot, strong pressure. Wind in outdoor showers: really cold! General tips: If you're a girl or a guy with some vanity and you're not staying in a trailer: DO bring a mirror. None in shared bathrooms or safari tents. DO bring a flashlight (even a cell flashlight.) Grounds have low level lighting for navigating, but having your own light source may help you here and there. DO bring lip balm and lotion for dry climate. DO bring soap and all toiletries (or buy them in town.) DO be prepared for a short but potentially cold and possibly windy walk to restrooms and to be showering outdoors. DO bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper. Better to have them and not need them. The place was neither rowdy nor silent during my stay. But regardless of human noise, know that tents can flap in the wind. Gravel paths crunch under footsteps, etc. DON'T bring/drag your S.O. or friend who's high maintenance. Just don't. DON'T come in the winter with someone who hates the cold. DON'T come in the summer with someone who hates the heat. El Cosmico is closer to glamping than roughing it, but there are lots of little things for the high-maintenance person to find fault with. Do yourself and other guests a favor and bring the adventurous person who can roll with the hiccups of life. If that's just you, come solo. Marfans are friendly. They will wave at your car from their front lawns - that kind of friendly. DO enjoy a hammock, the free coffee and a walk around the grounds both by day and at night. DO take pictures, especially at night. A camera that works well in low lighting will help you snap great shots. El Cosmico is just barely outside city limits. The entire town is within 5-20 blocks. If you like to walk, you can walk just about anywhere. If driving, parking is easy all over Marfa. read more

Teepee. The good first: nature, some stars, lit paths, decent bathrooms. The not so good: 1. We stayed in a Teepee and arrived when it was drizzling. The cow hides they have on the floor stank. So it was like being around wet cows. 2. The bottom of the tent has black spots. 3. The gift shop is Four Seasons hotel prices but the amenities/service are subpar. We stayed in a teepee that could sleep more then 2 and yet only got 2 towels. There was no trash can. Yet in the gift store the poster costs $50 and a shirt $35-$45. 4. A tractor that was mowing? Started around 9 am and it's almost 11 am and still going. It's very loud. At the very least wait till check out time at noon. 5. Light pollution. I could see a bit of the Milky Way but there was a lot more light then expected. And one particular bright orange light on property was blinking. 6. It's by a highway. It's loud. 7. There are ants everywhere. Overall I had a great time because I was with my friends and I was in nature. But not really worth the price. Marfa is so expensive and overrated. There are other small towns more lovely then this. It's time to find them! read more

El Cosmico is really magical. The colors of the tents and the design of the campground makes everything feel like a Wes Anderson film set, in the best way. I stayed in the safari tents for 2 nights in June, and I really enjoyed my stay. The beds were so comfortable and it was nice to have a working lamp, electrical outlets and an ipod speaker in each tent. The safari tents fit in well with the expansive West Texas landscape. The scout tents looked much smaller than the safari tents, but were very cute. The hammock grove was so nice, and oh my gosh the STARS! You can see every constellation out here, even though you're 5 minutes from Marfa city center. I didn't have a problem with showering outside, since it felt mostly private. I liked the outdoor shower facilities. The showers were hot, and everything was designed to work perfectly.The lush green vines covering the shower facilities made it feel like showering in a well-appointed forest. The bathroom was a 30 second walk from the tents, so not a problem at all. The tents don't come with robes or toiletries, but I brought all of that with me. There are upscale toiletries available in the office if you need them, but I suggest bringing your own. I think the trailers do come with robes and toiletries. The office has wifi and a second kitchen in addition to the outdoor kitchen. The campground and office were peaceful, which I really wanted for my vacation. No partying and no overly hipster vibe, though there was one band photo shoot taking place by the office when I left. I'd definitely recommend staying here if you don't mind the outdoors. read more

Stopped by and stayed here for a night on our road trip from Houston to New Mexico. I've stayed in a camp with a similar but less artsy concept of glamping before but this time we opted for the teepee! The campground was easy to find and navigate around and there were two areas for showering and toileting. They were quite easy to get to from our teepee which is definitely a plus when it comes to using the bathroom in the middle of the night. The teepee was a good size for 2 and can probably accommodate up to 4 people. There was also a fireplace in the middle that can warm up the teepee. We came in the beginning of August and it surprisingly wasn't hot in the teepee, but I wonder how hot it would be in the peak months of summer. There was also a nice hammock area where we watched the sunset and had some wine. Be sure to spray yourself with repellant though! My only complaint would be the scary amount of bugs that make it into the teepee. Most are harmless little things but I spent about 30 minutes killing a wasp so if you're scared of bugs a teepee definitely is not the choice for you and you should probably stick to one of the trailers. However, we both enjoyed this unique glamping experience in this little artistic town! read more
