Really cool place. I'm from out of town and live in Las Vegas. When I called the cigar shop, I was looking for my type of cigar, and the gentleman told me that they make there own cigars here. So I told myself, that's something I'd like to try. I drove over from Texas City since the one over in Texas City closes at 6 PM and this location stays open till 10 PM. I said what the heck... why not? When I got there, I went into the humidor and found a very similar type of cigar that I smoke in Las Vegas. I picked up two cigars, one full body and one Connecticut, and went to the cash register to check out. The price of this cigar is $7.50 and the gentleman told me since I came in after 6 PM the cost is only six dollars per cigar . What a deal, I couldn't believe it. So over the next couple days, I smoked both cigars, the full body and the Connecticut, and both cigars were to my satisfaction. I highly recommend coming out here to pick up your handmade cigars and try for yourselves. Super delicious. read more

Heard about El Cubano's from a friend and gave it a try. What a great shop! It's large, open and very welcoming. The lounge looked well appointed and plenty of seats for stogie dudes. The walk in humidor was stocked and the prices were the most surprising part. The most expensive stick I saw was like $9.50 +/- I got one of each and have been smoking them and just really enjoying each one. Full bodied to a more lighter roll, each has been legitimately good! This is one of the most relaxing, pleasant, and enjoyable cigar lounge that I have ever visited in the entire country. Manny, the owner is a great guy and his personal hospitality is off the chart. All of his cigars are handmade through his own company. You won't be disappointed in your selection. Great small business in LC. I remember the first time I went in there, I was totally intimidated to walk in. The best kept secret on the south east side of Houston Texas is El Cubano Cigars. If you are a cigar smoker/enthusiast like my self this place is a must visit. This shop is run by a Cuban family who hand rolls all of the cigars they carry. The first time I visited this shop the owner, Manny Lopez; showed me their entire process of hand rolling cigars. I was stunned to believe that a place like this existed outside of Florida. The best thing about this entire shop is how affordable the cigars are for the quality of the smoke. Their cigars range from 5 to 10 dollars, but taste better than most 15 and 20 dollar cigars I have smoked. With all the smoking ordances passed within the last 2 years or so this is the only place you can sit down and enjoy your favorite smoke. I cant speak more highly of the family that runs this location. Hands down they were the most knowledgable and helpful people I have ever met running a cigar shop. Not sure what you all do for relaxation. For me sometimes it's fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding but today it's Cigars at El Cubano in Old League City on Main Street. It was opened by Manny Lopez and his father around 7 or 8 years ago. They only sell their own brand of cigars and they have quite the selection of really, and I do mean really great cigars. What I love most about the place though is that they "get" the cigar community, the rituals, the culture of cigars. Today I walked in and was greeted by Pepe', who is really the hand that runs the League City location. Pepe' was born in Cuba and college educated in Russia (engineering). Pepe' has his iPhone Pandora app opened and playing his "Simon and Garfunkel" station, and with the sky being so overcast and the weather a tad cooler that it has been "Scarborough Fair" seems a perfect choice. I actually brought a new ale I've been wanting to try out and so we open it and everyone gets a glass, there are seven of us, and there is plenty for everyone to taste. We clink glasses and nod our heads in a silent toast. Each person sips and nods their approval to me...and then each are lost in their own thoughts again...this will not be a chatty day which is fine with me. That's part of the charm of the cigar culture...people seem to just know the right tone, approach, and timbre to take. It's a very nuanced culture from the rituals of cutting, toasting the end of the cigar, lighting, handshaking, to the actual tastes and flavors of the cigar. Everything about cigar smoking lends itself to easing off the gas pedal, reflecting, easy conversation and gaining a new perspective. Not all places get this concept and so when I look for a place to take my ease, get a second wind or to even enjoy some good music, conversation or solitude among the smells of cigars, espresso and leather...El Cubano always gets my personal nod of approval. read more

Manny and his Dad, Fred both understand the needs of a customer whether we are asking questions about a certain cigar or maybe get the right accessory for keeping our premium cigars in check. They have humidors, Xikar & Jetline lighters, etc. everything that is needed. Folks, these are hand-rolled cigars. If you venture down to the Texas City factory, you can view through a window at the rollers, as they roll your cigar for you or you can enter the humidor and pick you out one. One of the things that got me was when I first walked in, I had to ask the "how" do I cut, light, and smoke the cigar. They do not put you down for not knowing. Very helpful.
