My 1st time here and Ohhh YES I WILL be BACK. Todays adventure was a solo trip but it was great so I definitely will have to return and bring Wifey next time. The Breakdown: The portions are seriously Texas Size HUGE here. I would recommend splitting a meal with 2 adults unless you want to take a doggy bag home with you or you are a professional competitive eater. My waitress said that the Poblano Fajitas Fajitas are the best thing on the menu, so I took her recommendation. She definitely was NOT lying, it came out sizzling in a cast iron and at 1st sight I was impressed. I opted the Flour Tortillas and Chicken & Steak mixed combination. I liked the chicken and steak equally so I think I made the right call. The flour tortillas were huge, hot, fluffy, and delicious so I'm very happy with my pick. Everything was really great but the salsa that comes with the dish was the real star of this show. Straight incredible, I think I could have drank a few large glasses of it. Yeah it was that good. I went solo so I have another full size meal to warm up later tonight or tomorrow. Shoutouts to my waitress (sorry I didn't catch your name) and hats off to the chef. Delicious! Best food I've tried in Kingsville. I had the beef fajita burrito plate and couldn't eat it all. (I really tried too) The food was fresh and delicious. The portions were generous especially at such a reasonable price! The guacamole wasn't watered down, the lettuce and tomatoes were crisp and fresh. Nothing tasted canned or reheated. The restaurant was very clean, the staff were friendly and well dressed. I am so glad we stumbled on this hidden gem today. We will be back! read more

Another awesome experience. Had the crunchy chicken taco plate.....again, 5 star. Was there after lunch, restaurant only a quarter full. That said the service was fast fast fast. I only had like three or four complimentary chips and BAM, there was my lunch. To be fair I guess I need to try other Mexican restaurants in the area recommended by other yelpers. It's a roller coaster ride with this place these days. I've had weird days where particular waitresses are so rude and unnattentive. I won't call them out because they probably need their job to get their nails did or whatever. I am learning who the good, hard workers are for sure. I appreciate them, love to show it by a hefty tip. Some of the male wait staff can be super attentive, they'll go out of the way and make that coffee after 12pm. They are informative on the menu as well. My last visit was good, food also good. That's why I did not drop the rating to a 1 star. I may start coming back if these guys are working. I stopped coming for a while since my last two experiences turned me off. I saw the rude individual using the broom to sweep the floor and then seats. Sweeping next to a table where people are eating is also unsanitary when you crap flying everywhere. The staff was very neglectful. The Migas need improvement... read more

This is not a bad place at all to come and eat. Of coarse they have the daily specials and so much more Mexican food to offer. The place seemed like they did not have many people working but needless to say our order was brought out in a timely manner. The complimentary chips with salsa and cheese dip was a nice treat to start of your meal. A real laid back atmosphere and the usual clientele seemed to fill the room. read more

Less than ordinary! I said to myself oh no we screwed up! But that is where it ended! We ordered the beef fajitas poblano and the El Dorado platter which was a combo of chicken and shrimp! They were some of the very best fajitas ever!!! Beyond tender and tasty. We have paid twice as much for half the amount and not even close taste wise. The other dish was also delicious! The service was great and the food came out steaming and sizzling! Generous portions at very reasonable prices with good service. What more can you ask? read more

For as many Mexican restaurants as there are in this town, this is hands-down our favorite and we are never hesitant to recommend it to friends of ours who are passing through town and it is become their favorite as well. The food was about average for the area. I had chicken enchiladas and my Mom had the lunch special (calabasa). The flour tortillas were rubbery and salty. It was annoying that they upcharge everything including substitutions and to-go cups (69 cents). You could def find worse places though. read more

While on our little adventure to Corpus to take the grandson to the Texas State Aquarium we went a little further South to Kingsville. We got our room for the night and went to find a bite to eat. We picked a little place that had plenty of cars out front called El Dorado Mexican Food. The salsa they brought to the table with choirs was really good! I ordered a plate of fajitas covered in cheese with Poblano peppers called Fajitas Poblano. My wife opted for the more traditional cheese enchaladas. My Fajitas came with Baracho Beans that were out of this world and also some rice, pico, and flour tortillas. It was really good!! My wife said her enchaladas were really good too! Wee had enough food that we shared what we hag with the grandson as he can be a picky eater, but he loves rice and beans! As for drinks I had tea and my wife and grandson had Rootbeer. The food and atmosphere here was really nice and the wait staff very friendly and accomadating. I would recommend them if your ever in the Kingsville area and are in need of a great Mexican food fix!!! read more

This place has the best mexi food in town!!! Love the food every time my husband and I go. Definitely give this place a try when your in Kingsville. You won't be disappointed. The only negatives is they don't offer any dessert.. and recently it's been so cold in the restaurant its been unbearable to sit in there and eat. Would like to see those little changes if possible. What a fantastic restaurant! The food is consistently good and the waiters are always prompt and very helpful. My favorite meal is the el Dorado, which is a chicken breast with cheese overtop some grilled onions and green bell peppers. It is also served with charro beans, guacamole, rice, and a lettuce salad. It is delicious!! It also comes with 5 or 6 grilled shrimp. The flour tortillas are light and fluffy. As like many of the other meals at el Dorado, you could get two meals out of one. The fajitas and enchiladas are also delicious, as well as the mini tacos. You cannot go wrong with any of the food at el Dorado. read more

We found this place on our annual trek to Port Isabel last year; just finished lunch here...every bit as good as last time. I'm not sure how to classify this Mexican food. It's got classic Tex-Mex influences, but with an authentic Mexican twist. It's not an upscale place, but is very clean with friendly staff. And, in the way that good Chinese restaurants attract Chinese folks, the local Mexican folks are staunch patrons here. We had no problem ordering en Ingles. :) Like most Mexican places, you are served corn tortilla chips when seated. Here, in addition to a good (hot) hot sauce, they bring a small dish of chile con queso. Don't judge the food by this queso - it's reminiscent of canned cheese sauce with chiles - the weakest part of the meal, but not enough to knock them down to four stars. My wife had the Texas plate #9, which was awesome. The carne guisada was about the best beef stew she'd ever had, and had chunks of carrots and potatoes. The rest of the plate was solid, including a very nice guacamole and killer flour tortillas. I had the Mexican plate #18, which was very good too. The enchiladas were perfect, the taco was tasty and crunchy. The rice was excellent on both our plates. I opted for the charro instead of refried beans, which is something Highly recommend - and is what stood out in my mind from the previous visit. They're perfectly seasoned, with just the right amount of salt and bacon. YUM. read more
