If you are looking for a place to relax and unwind in a blissful setting, look no further…read more We spent 5 days here with our 6-year-old daughter and all three of us loved every moment. Each member of staff is delightful and helpful and ready to assist in any way possible, from booking transportation from the airport to arranging a nanny (We loved Marina, thank you!). We had booked a two-bed room with ocean view but upon check in found out we had been upgraded to a 2-bedroom suite! WOW! Our room was massive. Upon entry to the room, we entered the secondary sleeping area, with 2 twin beds and a large closet and shelf system. just beyond that was the shower, sink, and toilet area. This area is fully stocked with a variety of soaps and shampoo and conditioner, everything you need is here. Heading through the next door, you enter the main sleeping area with a king bed, a sofa, dressers, a wardrobe and a desk. Every detail has been thought of, from a water dispenser and glasses to a vase of fresh cut flowers. Beyond the sitting area is your private patio, looking out and over Mar de Jade out to the bay. The resort itself is large enough that you don't feel on top of the other guests but not so large that you can't find your way around. The pool area is lovely, we definitely spent some time at the bar drinking the amazing cocktails being created (they also have a great selection of Mexican and imported wine and beer), and the dining room is the perfect place to dine or relax. I was a little worried about the buffet-style food, never-really enjoying them before BUT the food being served at Mar de Jade is top notch. There was a salad or fruit station for each meal and then a different prepared meal each day. There was almost always a vegan or vegetarian option, and they were several GF options as well. We loved Every. Single. Meal. The staff was super accommodating, and often made our daughter molletes, or plain scrambled eggs for breakfast if the days options were too much for her. I will note, that we were there as Hurricane Roslyn was passing by and that combined with the prior storm had washed most of the beachfront away replacing it with rocks, so we were unable to enjoy the private beach but did find time to watch the sunset from the hammock palapa. We walked into Chacala to enjoy the beach and definitely recommend visiting town at least once, even if the beach is back at Mar de Jade. Make time for a spa service too, we had the most amazing massages. Next time we'll check out more of their offerings but the 90 minute massages were perfect for 2 busy parents. All in all, we loved our time at Mar de Jade and can't wait to return!

I've visited Mar de Jade many times since 1983. A safe haven far away from the crowds, surrounded…read moreby natural beauty, it was a distinguished eco-tourism/health spa center before such places became the go-to destinations for socially conscious travelers. The family-owned retreat is still run by founder Dr. Laura del Valle and her daughter Angelica, who've made a tradition of providing guests with a personalized, custom-coordinated vacation experience. While the food service, accommodations and other amenities are all top-notch, what's really interesting is how party-oriented folks can intermingle alongside the new-age types -- with mutual respect. There's just something about Mar de Jade that exudes love.

Overview: The best hotel in Tequila with good service. Cons: Older hotel with very poor sound…read moreinsulation and sparse furnishing in rooms. Arrival: Arrived by car. No valet or porter available when we arrived. Check-in: adequate check-in process Room (305): A large room that needs more furniture and some comfortable furniture. There was no place to comfortably sit in the room! Small and older TV (no Netflix access or smart functions) with all channels in Spanish. Mini-refrigerator, safe, etc. Major disappointment- Nespresso in-room coffee maker was fee-based! Who provides a Nespresso and then charges for the pods? Furniture was below average. For example, little sitting chair in the corner of the room was completely uncomfortable. Floors were tile but not very clean. Bed: Average king bed with above average linens. Bathroom: Large bathroom with large walk in shower, but shower was not well-designed. It didn't drain well and water pressure was bad. Lighting was not the best. Hairdryer was broken, and we had to request a replacement. Service: Overall good service, nice staff Pool: small pool in courtyard, small rooftop pool Restaurants: Best restaurant in Tequila is located in the hotel- La Antigua Casona Overall cleanliness: above average WiFi: very slow wifi. Ran an nperf test and the results were dismal 6 Mb down, 5.6 Mb up. Had a Teams video meeting while there, and my colleagues kept complaining about my spotty internet. Valet: decent valet service upon departure Misc: nice library for relaxing and reading; hotel is located in a good location on the main square and one block from the Jose Cuervo distillery

This hotel is in the heart of downtown central area of Tequila. Across the street from the Church,…read morethe Jose Cuervo distillery and walking distance to Sauza distlillery. A lovely and super clean hotel. Prior to arrival they sent us an email with recommendations for adventures in tequila. It was recommended to take a tour of the Jose Cuervo distillery. I called and they were so nice to assist over the phone. Great service! Arrival: by car. Hotel has valet service provided after check-in. Nobody will greet you at your car. Park in the front and go in. Service: employees are all very nice and friendly. Security is everywhere keeping everyone safe. Room: 305, very clean. With a nice King size bed with high quality bed linens. The bed is medium comfort and nice firm pillows. The TV is quite small for the size of the room. The chair and ottoman are uncomfortable. The desk is a nice spot to do some work but the WIFI in the hotel is quite slow. Working remotely here would not be n option. There is a mini bar. The coffee is not free in your room, so be mindful to check prices before you brew a cup. One pod of coffee is 60 pesos. Coffee in the restaurant with refills is 40 pesos. Get yourself ready and head downstairs. The coffee in the restaurant is out of this world delicious and worth getting dressed for. Bathroom: lovely bathroom with gorgeous chandelier but a bit dark for shaving or applying makeup. NIce double sink but water pressure is lacking. The left side sink hot water never got hot. There is a soap dispenser that both sinks my must share. Reaching over from the far sink can be a pain if another person is at the closer sink, we made due, but bit akward. The hair dryer is low quality and did not put out hot air to dry your hair, we did request a new dryer. The new dryer works good, but again not the best quality. Gorgeous gigantic walk in shower but the water pressure is not that great. You have this lovely gigantic shower but the pressure of the water and the shower head does not allow the use of the entire space but you do have hot water. Sleep quality: varies depending on the night. First night was poor and we did not get any sleep. Our room faced the swimming pool so not sure if there is a better place in the hotel, but you can hear everything. The church bells go off every 15 - 30 minutes and each time it is between 8-10 rings. Then you hear water running from other rooms from the showers to the flushing toilets. The street noise. The second night it was quiet and the sleep quality was great! We think it was because of Christmas Eve and Christmas that the Church bells were going off so much. The next night, the church bells were silent. Pool: there is a lovely outdoor pool. There is an adult pool on the floor 4 with the sky bar. What a lovely pool on the rooftop and the bar is overlooking the downtown Tequila area. Restaurant: on site restaurant and quality of food varies on what is going on. See separate review.
