The owner stayed true to authentic Mexican esquite and added epazote , which was a game changer for overall flavor. The location was also soo fun they had games to play while you ate and it was a great place to cool down on an almost 100 degree day. Been here twice so far. Ive had the michelada elotes. I think I got the name wrong. But it was delicious! Also, I've had the hot classic. Also very delicious. For drink i have only had the strawberry hibiscus so far. It is very good and refreshing. I definitely recommend El Esquite. Wow! I am soooo happy this place has a brick and mortar shop! I first tried their esquites at a community event and thought I'd have to follow them around LA. Found them on IG and learned that they have a shop! Their corn is sweet and cooked evenly. They don't shy away from the toppings. Environment is modern, comfortable, and welcoming. Prices are very fair. I the original esquites with Hot Cheeto flakes. Also tried their Dubai fresas and their strawberry jamaica. Fresh, sweet, refreshing. Definitely coming back! read more

Best experience ever! El Esquite catered my granddaughters My First Rodeo Birthday and it was amazing! The professionalism, the presentation, and most important the deliciousness of the Esquite cups was incredible! Will definitely use them again and highly recommend them! I totally forgot to take a picture of what we got because I was excited to dig in. I ordered 2 different variations: The Classic Esquite and the Mac n' Cheese esquite. I must say, both were quite tasty, and each bowl was devoured! Delicious find in Long Beach! The half and half was so good but spicier than I thought because they use extra hot Cheetos on top of the cayenne sprinkled on top, but still so good! Love that they used paper to-go containers instead of styrofoam. Thought the strawberry horchata was yummy, but the strawberry syrup was too sweet for me - my husband liked it. The Mangolada 16 oz was just enough sweetness for a dessert. Could've done without the sour belt and sour gummy candy but I know my kids would've liked it. The location isn't the greatest busy intersection and street parking. The customer service was great very friendly owners. The inside was clean and plenty of chairs and tables to sit. The menu was pretty hard to choose from because I wanted everything. I did order a esquite hot Cheeto plate but the hot Cheetos overpowered the food and didn't really enjoy it. I also got a strawberry horchata but I believe they add strawberry syrup. I wasn't to fond of the flavor either. Lastly I ordered a tostilocos with cueritos not gonna lie the only thing I enjoyed were the cueritos (pork skin) I got a total of 4 items and my bill came out close to $50 pretty pricey for all items. I've been wanting to try this place and today was the perfect warm day to get some fruit and corn. I love how instead of just chopped up cucumber pieces it's actually grated strings, the generous amount of lemon, tajin and salt were delicious and refreshing! I got a friend a fruit cup with cucumber, orange with all the toppings, she loved it. The Mac and cheese with esquite was pretty amazing. I will have to try the fries next time. Uhhh and before I forget, the gentleman that helped me was very kind and gave me a sample taste of the mango sorbet, wow I wasn't even interested but gosh after a couple spoon fulls, I became a fan. So far I've had the classic & birria esquite, horchata, & mangolada- all great! Lots of items now available that are not currently displayed on the menu, including plenty of agua fresca options. Their social media helps keep you up to date on new offerings and seasonal items (birria-ramen at the time of writing this). It can be a bit a of wait as there have only been two working when I've visited, however they've always been very nice and friendly and managed to get the orders out surprisingly quickly. Especially considering that both times there was a steady flow of customers. The overall vibe of the place is very chill. So, the wait goes by quickly. Nice, big tables and benches to sit, wait, and enjoy your order or you can take it to go. Definitely worth a visit! I didn't think the birria esquite would be as good as it was, but I highly recommend! But the esquite taste old and the fruit cup was quite interesting with the cucumber shaped like little shot glasses. every fruit tasted different, like they put fruit from other trays into one cup and covered it with candy. The mango was really ripe and the watermelon was old. I just don't think it was worth $20. Also I didn't like that they leave you there while they go to the back and make it. I loved the burst of flavor as well as how sour it was. It would definitely go good with a cool beer.
