All this liquor is why the cat went blind ;)
    Sergio F.

The cat isn't blind; it's just buzzing from all of the drinks! Literally translated, the name of this liquor store means "The Blind Cat". Kind of like one of my favorite restaurants in Doral, I like the edginess of the name. Located in an older building on Calle Ocho but close to I-95, I found some quality dark rum for a decent price. Their rum selection runs the gamut from the comically named, to the high classed and everything in between. I also saw plenty of vodka, and even some of the creme liquors.

Very racist and unprofessional cashier. Everything was over priced. I went to another liquor store down the street and saved $5.

Good selection, fair prices, nice staff, could use more selection of 2 liters but overall no complaints. Great for a quick stop.

Piola is quickly becoming my go to neighborhood spot for an Italian fix…read more I am obsessed with the meatballs and have gotten them every time I have come here. The chicken parm is quite good and a large portion. Can be shareable between 2-3 people. The service was pretty quick on a quietish weeknight.

It was a frozen concoction of fresh pineapple and strawberry juice with wine based liquor and it was divine. I usually stay away from frozen drinks out of fear of sugar concentrated juices, but the fresh juices made the drink such a delight. I was a happy camper knowing I had another one coming after my first one. They make wine based cocktails that aren't very far from the real deal, so it's a great way to find some favorite drinks without going down the liquor rabbit hole. I had the meatballs which came swimming in a tasty marinara with a side of crusty bread. The meatballs were seasoned just right and perfect to munch on with my drink and the red wine that came afterwards. I mopped up the sauce with the bread and have no regrets. The staff and management knew I was holding a book club meeting and gave us a beautiful partially enclosed space with a table to seat 10 people surrounded by shelves of wine that they sell. If you order a bottle and it's a red, they'll take it right off the shelf and open it for you. Sometimes they have a half off wine bottle promotion, so it's good to go and check out what they have going on! The manager Rebecca and her staff took great care of a rambunctious group of hungry and thirsty bookworms and made us feel very welcome. I can't wait to hold another meeting there as an excuse to return!

Lost Boys is one of my favorite local bars. I have been coming here for years so long overdue…read morereview. I have been watching the World Cup games here and it has been very fun. I want to say the staff waiting the tables, bar, and kitchen have done an amazing job always friendly even when at times the bar was fully packed they were all troopers and gave amazing service. The biggest thing for me was the overall energy and engagement from the staff. I'm naturally a pretty social and engaged person, especially when I'm sitting at a bar, and I made an effort to interact with the bartenders. I just didn't really feel that same engagement coming back. Nobody was necessarily rude or disrespectful--it just felt disconnected, and the energy was a little strange to me. I also didn't realize until I tried to pay that the bar doesn't accept cash. Maybe that was posted somewhere and I missed it, and once they told me, it wasn't a big deal. But little things like that, combined with the overall interaction, affected the experience. Another thing I didn't realize until receiving my check was that gratuity was already included. I wasn't verbally told about it, and I personally didn't see it disclosed anywhere beforehand. From my understanding, an automatic gratuity or service charge is required to be disclosed to the guest before the purchase, not something they should only discover when they receive the check. Maybe there was a notice somewhere that I missed, so I'm not saying there wasn't one, but I definitely wasn't aware of it. I think that's an important thing for guests to know upfront, especially because someone could easily add another tip without realizing gratuity was already included. Ironically, the one person I genuinely connected with and had a good conversation with was another guest at the bar, not a member of the staff. That interaction actually helped make my time there more enjoyable. For me, hospitality is about more than serving a drink. Especially when someone is clearly open, friendly, and trying to engage, that's an easy opportunity to create a connection and turn a first-time guest into someone who wants to come back. I felt like I gave plenty of opportunities for that interaction, but it just never really happened. I still had a good time because I can have a good time pretty much anywhere, and nothing happened that would make me say Lost Boys is a bad bar. It just didn't feel like the staff cared much about enhancing the experience beyond serving the drinks. So four stars because I respect what the place is and can see why it works as a neighborhood bar. It just didn't give me a reason to come back, and personally, I don't think I would.
