Stopped in for lunch and the place was packed. Lunch came very quickly and everything was served hot. Ranchero sauce was very good as was the red sauce served with the food. The red sauce served with the chips tasted like jar sauce. Barbacoa was lean and tasty. The carne guisada was so tender you don't even need your dentures! lol read more

I travel for work every week and I'm usually in smaller and or rural communities. I consider Alice a smaller community but this is a big city restaurant tucked away off the highway. I had good hopes as the yelp reviews before me were pretty good but maybe my words will hit you in your soul and make you decide to come here and grab some comida. I got the number 24 and if we're being honest for the price I thought it would be very low quality. Comes with a flat top grilled and seared ribeye with shrimp, grilled onions and peppers along with rice beans and fresh lettuce and tomato. I forced my down the pipes with a frothy Dr Pepper and it was truly a great meal. These guys have it going on and if you are on the fence do yourself a favor and just pull in. I'm already looking at what I will be getting tomorrow night. Solid gem, pull in and order. For those concerned with the corona from what I could tell everybody had a mask and it looked very clean on the inside. This location has a drive-through and its quick and efficient. Whatever life brings me back to Alice this will be my first stop. read more

The food was suspicious. The protein we ordered had a lot of fat and some type of white tubes. When we spoke to the manager, he explained that's the way it's supposed to look, but it was really disgusting and disappointing. The manager didn't apologize or ask how he could make it better. For a Taqueria this is easily 5 stars. Place is very clean and spacious, food is really good, tortillas are homemade, and the prices are ridiculously cheap. We had breakfast for 4, with two coffees. Total was $23. Breakfast tacos we're outstanding. Fresh tortillas, great mixture of ingredients, and the portions are huge. The breakfast omelet was also outstanding. This menu is huge. My grandson and I recently went and he ordered the beef and chicken quesadillas. I ordered the catfish plate. My catfish plate was delicious. It comes with potatoes, catfish filet, rice and a salad. The only thing ai would do to improve on the taste would be the batter. A little more seasoning in the batter would probably improve the taste but it is delicious regardless. The service is always good and the ambiance is good as well. I usually have breakfast there and all the breakfasts have been good...to my satisfaction. Highly recommend this business. On the main drag this place advertises breakfast as well. It's large inside. There is ample parking with overflow parking in a lot behind the business. There is also a drive through, though I chose to dine inside. It's a Mexican diner of sorts. There is a bar separate from the main dining room. There are tables and booths. The booths are big enough for me and it made me happy. The menu had everything you could want on it including breakfast server at all times. I was intrigued with the traditional juevos con Spam. But I passed for an evening meal instead. The menu has traditional Mexican dishes. Like what you would get at home food. I had pork chops with beans. I loved the flavors. The chops were thin and perfectly seasoned. Just tasty. The beans were different than I was used to, and absolutely fantastic. The Pico de Gallo was home made and delicious. I also had two lengua tacos. For you gringos that's cow tongue tacos. If I had know. How large they were, I would not have ordered two. They were served with shredded onions and chopped cilantro. I added pico and some of the complimentary salsa on them. I'm going back this week to get more lengua. It was wonderful. With a water, it was $15. You just can't beat that. read more

He just blew us off, and stated we were trying to get a free meal..He accused me of continually coming in to eat & complaining just so I wouldn't have to pay. Our second visit to Alice, Texas, as we drive home a longer route to enjoy a breakfast here. We were recommended here in January this year by the attendant at the gas pumps at WalMart. We found it to be clean, friendly, cordial and prompt service then and again today. Monica, our server today was wonderful and informative. She made sure we received great service and a delicious meal down to the "house made" corn tortillas. Everything was fresh and delicious. My huevos divorciados were as good if not better than any I have ever eaten. My partner had the "huevos rancheros" with sausage and " house made" flour tortillas. Great flavor!
