So to be honest the food was pretty good, it was buuuuut after I was almost done eating I looked at my crispy taco and noticed there was mold in the cheese ... like furry mold already. So I told them just to let them know that it's gone bad and the guy came out the back and just tried to deny it wholeheartedly .. that it would smell if it was mold....huh. What a great place to eat! Going to McAllen from SA with a 9pm eta so we decided to stop, I had the #1 Brirria Tacos , so good. Crispy on it outside warm melted cheese and super tender beef. So much better than what I have been getting in Houston. Friend got the chicken qasidillias and the portion was too much for him to eat. I definitely recommend this place and will be back. read more

Fast friendly service. The tortilla soup large order is huge and tasty but was not hot enough. The soup was chock full of ingredients including rice and bits of broccoli and plenty of chicken breast all topped with cheese and avocado. Hubby had a chicken tostado which was also tasty. Restaurant was a bit out of the way though so doubt if we'll be back. read more

"Yet another taqueria in Alice" Yep, there is one on every corner in this town, but I am not a fan of many. Mi Ranchito, however, does not disappoint. The inside dining is very clean, and the service is very attentive. They do have a spacious, and elegantly-kept party room, if you're interested. As for the food, I've actually avoided the tacos until recently. Nothing compares to what we make at home, right? Well, these are pretty tasty. I make mine much bigger, but their tacos are an average size. The tortilla actually met my standards, which has yet to happen anywhere else in this town, these days. The salsa is tasty. My group had the following tacos, and everyone loved what they got: Chorizo and egg Potato, egg and cheese Barbacoa The Killer (composed of multiple foods, in one) This is the only place where I will eat tortilla soup, in Alice, but I do have to tell them to go light in the cheese. Absolutely delicious. I ordered the beef enchiladas, and in true Tex Mex style, they were smothered in a layer of cheese. Oh em gee. It was like heaven. Add the beans and rice, and I was smitten. They had the right mix of flavors, were correctly salted, and hot out of the kitchen! Two people cost about $25. Complimentary chips and salsa are brought to each table. My friend received the wrong order, and it was rectified by bringing extra food that was originally missing. The bathroom was clean, although one of the toilets had a hard time flushing. Ordered takeout meal of chicken enchiladas. The sauce on the enchiladas smelled disgusting, it must have been spoiled. How could they box that? The smell hit you as soon as you opened the lid. I cannot believe the people handling this plate couldn't smell it, it was so bad, yet they served it anyway. Had to throw it out. Never eating here again. read more

Their daily specials are good and under ten bucks for a full belly. The other day I had a rib-eye steak and shrimp for $7.95. Good food, great service-almost too good, and good value. My only slight complaint is maybe just dial back on the asking the diners if everything is ok every 4-5 minutes (maybe slightly exaggerating) However I would rather be over visited then to have to light a flare to get the attention of waitstaff. read more

Came because Chente's was close, surprisingly the food was very good. I ordered caldo, no cabbage was in it, no calabazita, no corn but it was very tasty. They do not have homemade tortillas, but who does after the valley. The bathrooms were very clean! Price for food was reasonable. We got giant to go tea for free, gracias El Ranchito! read more

The place is actually not that bad compared to some of the other places that the people I work with decided to go to. After coming here for a while now I have noticed that people who frequently come here seem to get a little bit better service than people who are here for the first time. Not sure if that is because it is a small town and they just treat new people a little different or what. Regardless if you are a frequent customer you will receive better services than if this is your first time. read more

This was my first time at this restaurant,I came in sat down and the waitress came and asked me what I wanted to drink,she brought me my drink n chips and took my order,bi ordered steak n shrimp,...when I got my order I asked her to bring me A-1 sauce, she never came back...ever , other customers got A-1 , so I ate my stake n shrimp...told the manager and he was like I'm sorry, it will be 13.99 ....damn ...I highly recommend everyone to avoid this place,....if she had given me dog crap on the plate I would still be charged full price....very bad place. read more

The food is good tasting, and the service with the waitresses is great! BUT!! They need to do something about their guacamole!! I've been there twice and both times the guacamole tasted old and looked a bit dark. It tastes horrible!! I rather ask for sliced avocado now when I go. read more

Free chips and salsa! Nice environment, great staff, decent food. I ordered the Nicho's sandwich (Club sandwich) which was served with fries. The fries lacked flavor for some reason. The fries were bagged fries but after adding ketchup it was all good ;) the sandwich was fair. read more

Best Micheladas in town! Some restaurants don't serve anything other than ordinary drinks-so I'm here on a regular basis. Good food, great service, and friendly staff every time. I've tried the specials and menu items. The gorditas were the best I've ever had. read more
