    EXPLOSION!!!
    Erica G.

This place is awesome!!! Right down the street and around the corner. I had a craving for a mangonada.. and I definitely got one!! I decided to go a notch up and I ordered the EXPLOSION. It was super delicious!!! I couldn't tell you how much I enjoyed it.. you would have to see my face and see how I was glowing. Definitely coming back and trying the chamoyada next!!

    Explosion de limon

They had messed up my order and wouldn't correct their mistake even though i was already there so I had to get reimbursed through uber eats( even though it wasn't a mistake made by uber eats). Then they drench my explosion with chamoy sauce claiming its just on the edge of the cup but it's way too much and tried to get a new one but they kept being complicated and didn't corrected because they had already made it.my explosion as you can see in the picture does not look like it's limon with all the chamoy sauce lol I love el kiosko and have been a loyal customer but If yall do not want to deal with stupidity and unfairness DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION. Not worth it. Very disappointed.

A nice little place for a cold bite. I originally came here to purchase a mangonada but they had the explosion instead. Little that I knew, it was more of a sorbet of some kind. Fresh mango to top it off and spicy chamoy, I enjoyed the flavors of the explosion. The candy was a little much for me, but it went well with the item. I also purchased the yellow elote, a bit too sour for me, but I'm just picky, I know my other friends eat it this way. Nice owners and clean establishment.

Mangonada Explosion! One of the best mango desserts I've ever had!

I tried my first mangonada here and realized I've been missing out all my life. If you love mangos, you need to give this a try! I split the Explosion with a friend, which was a good idea since it can probably happily feed 3. This mangonada sundae of sorts lives up to its name since it's a total flavor bomb - sweet mango sorbet and fresh mango chunks, sour and salty chamoy sauce, and a touch of heat from chili powder. It's also topped with strings of "salsaghetti", a Mexican candy that's akin to a more savory Sour Punch Straw, a tamarind paste coated straw, and a packet of Lucas candy syrup. While all the crazy toppings appealed to my inner child, the intense flavors may take a more adult palate to appreciate if you didn't grow up eating these. The salty-sour-spicy-sweet combo is definitely acquired taste, but I loved it. The chamoy and chile actually enhanced the cool, refreshing sweetness of the mango and kept me coming back for more, scoop after scoop. We also shared a cup of Mexican corn, which was just okay. It's not on the cob as we expected but rather canned corn topped with chile, mayo, and cheese. It was still very tasty if a little soggy. In addition to mangonadas and corn, El Kiosko's offerings are extensive. The sorbet in the Explosion was super delicious and clearly made with real fruit, so I can't wait to try their other flavors. This place is a must-try!

Service was great, and the shake I had was delicious. Being that the ice cream is made from real ice cream, it made for a wonderful shake.

This place was only 0.4 miles away and has great reviews so we headed over. Oh my gosh, I'm glad we chose this spot. That was the best sandwich I've had in a long time! I ordered the first thing on the menu because it looked good, and I'm glad I did. They call it a "Chicken Run." It's made with ciabatta, grilled chicken breast, pepper jack cheese, tomatoes, pickles, lettuce, and "garlic sauce" (which, to me, was a garlic aioli). I enjoyed it more than I would have enjoyed getting a hamburger somewhere else. The ciabatta was perfect! Far better than any hamburger bun. The pepperjack cheese was spicier and meltier than most and seemed to be high quality. And the flavors all melded together perfectly. A very nice lady made our sandwiches, wrapped them and bagged them. She was friendly and helpful. The place was cute. And they had board games to play with :-) My wife had the Empire Club and said she enjoyed it. They also had a reuben that looked really tempting and a chicken pesto sandwich on a baguette that caught my eye. But I'm still glad I got the Chicken Run!

However, it's well worth the stop by. The food is simply wonderful. I had butternut squash soup, which was marvelous really marvelous as if it were homemade. I also had a Desi pizza which was quite good. Shock full of ingredients all of which were well seasoned and the sauce that was absolutely wonderful. It's really a much larger place than it appears when you first approach it there's plenty of room for seating and it's very well capped. The ambience is very simple but tasteful. It's a must visit if you're in the area of parked 10 on the west side of town. Let me just say this at last there were two people who were there during the lunch hour, and they were inordinately, efficient and friendly. It's a wonderful experience.

After doing my research and seeing food bloggers post online about this place, I decided to try it! We went on a Saturday afternoon at 2 pm - packed! There were no tables available inside and there were people inside and outside waiting for their orders. That's something to be ready for if you come on a Saturday. Our order didn't actually take that long. Or maybe it took a little while and we didn't mind waiting. Either way, it wasn't that bad! Luckily it's located in a shopping area so there's always parking. My main gripe is that they close at 7pm. I'm sure there's a good reason for that but I've wanted to try it multiple times before but they've been closed! I ended up going with the infamous brisket and fried rice. The brisket was super tender - I was able to pull it apart with my fork. I typically shy away from brisket because usually it's tough. But this was delicious - tender and had a nice smoky flavor. Not overwhelming or too salty. The rice had a great flavor too. There were chunks of meat in that as well and the rice had a nice smoky flavor. Not too salty or greasy. It also came with some accoutrements - pickled onions, fresh pickled cucumbers, jalapeños, bbq sauce and bread. The cucumbers and onions stole the show - very fresh and refreshing. We were surprised at the pickled onions - they were soo good! Overall - worth the hype! I'll definitely be back to try ribs, chicken or pulled pork sandwich. I heard everything is good here!!

To my surprise; fried rice was filled with extra brisket and chinese sausage! The pickle Jalapeño's were very tasty. Perhaps both the pickles and pickled Jalapeños are made in house. Only gripe that deducted a star would be the sitting arrangement. I mean there is only a handful of chairs available inside. They do have a spacious outdoor patio; but being almost 100 degrees outside it was not worth my sweat dripping down to the brisket making it saltier. Almost have to wait around and time it, until the next freed up seating is available. Don't recommend to bring young kids or large groups. If I was an angel investor, my money would go to them to expand to a larger location! Pains me to see large chain restaurants be able to afford such a large buildings and serve mediocre food. Eh hemmm.. Spring Creek Barbecue. Support local; Support H-town! Overall definitely worth a try!
