Entrance. It must have been a church at one time.

I've been here three times now and it is my favorite restaurant in Hazleton whether Mexican or otherwise. The staff is on the ball and friendly and the food is fantastic. My first time here I ordered the Caldo de Mariscos (seafood soup) and it was one of the better ones I've had in NEPA. Delicious mussels, perfectly cooked shrimp, bay scallops and a delicious filet of fish in a tasty broth. The next time I had Red Enchiladas with Chicken. I loved the sauce and the rice and beans were fantastic. Comes with warm tortillas. Yesterday, I had the Bistec a la Mexicana which is basically a very thin cut of rib eye steak with sautéed onions, tomatoes, and jalapeños. This also comes with warm tortillas. It was good but my least favorite of the dishes I've had at this restaurant. Definitely a great place for good, authentic Mexican cuisine.

Food was good, waitress was friendly and very attentive, kitchen might be a little slow, but overall a nice place to enjoy authentic Mexican food in the area.

Great food! Excellent waitress/service! It's hard to find good authentic Mexican food in this part of Pennsylvania, but El Mariachi was my saving grace. Was it the best tacos I've ever had... definitely not! However, I was craving something authentic and this definitely quenched that craving. We were first greeted with double thickness tortilla chips and wonderful salsa. Then we ordered a side of guacamole for the chips and was blown away by how amazing the guacamole was. It had the right amount of lime and salt. Then we ordered a carne asada taco and an al pastor taco with crema, cilantro & onions, cheese, and avocado. It came with a milder salsa verde and a "spicier" salsa roja. I love extremely spicy food so the sauce was a bit too mild for my liking. The carne asada taco was good enough to make me keep going back to the restaurant however the flavor could be a bit more bold. The al pastor taco was quite delicious as it included fresh pineapple and well seasoned pork. We also ordered a pablano mole. It was Quite good. Overall 4.6/5.0

Great reasonably priced food with unbelievable service. Chips and salsas are great. Old school bottles of coke. We will be back.

Last time my waitress asked me if I would like tater tots, curly fries or onion rings instead of my fries, she failed to mention there would be an up charge for them and I was charged an additional two dollars. I got the buffalo chicken wrap and it was incredibly salty. The time prior, I asked for a side of mustard to go with my hamburger again the waitress failed to mention that there would be an up charge and I was charged an additional dollar for a side of mustard. The service is always friendly!

Problem is, I am in Pennsylvania eating at a place known for Mexican food, and I am from Oklahoma / Texas area, and trust me this is not Mexican food! That being said I have to rate this and give it a serious rating on my services and the food i have eaten here, not what I expected. So, when I left, I was slightly disappointed, but I had to look back and review the food for what it was. That being said, here goes. Upon entering, you enter into the basement, and it was beautifully decorated with Halloween stuff. It had a really good feeling going in! I ordered Chips and salsa. Salsa was too sweet for me, not enough heat or even the taste of heat. The chips were store bought and not freshly made but were good quality. I am used to Mexican style chips and salsa being free, and these were not bad priced, but 4.99, i think! I failed to snap a picture of the Menu. Food - I ordered the two taco's - Now the price is per each taco, at 8.99 and they got me on that. I thought I was getting a good deal for two tacos, beans and rice for 8.99 until the ticket came! so be careful, and read the menu, unlike me. I ordered the Chorizo Taco, and the Bacon chicken Taco. The chorizo wasn't the ground sausage that I am used to seeing, and it was in almost hotdog form. Flavor wasn't terrible, just not what I expected for Chorizo. The other taco, except for the chicken being on the dry side, was delicious! There was nothing taco or fajita flavored about it at all, but it is something that i would order again when i go. The sizes of both tacos were large, and my belly was full. Now the Rice, like most restaurants wasn't good at all. no flavor, dry and hard. The beans on the other had was awesome! Good solid flavor, just not enough of them. Next time I will ask for a double order, and they can keep the so-called rice. Service was slow, seemed even slower when I asked for my check, and said I was in a little bit of a hurry. But she was nice and accommodating other than that. This all being said, I hope that you find this review helpful! I will be back, just going to try their wings next! I will update this or add a completely new review when i try the wings!
