TERRIBLE. They need a new manager. Charged for a plate that was sent back and said it was fine even though inedible to us. He said if something was wrong with it he would have taken it off the bill but TASTED IT, and it was good. (Then you pay for it). He has zero clue how good service works. He tried explaining he'd been in the industry for 45 years. Maybe it's time for a new calling. Then proceeds to say, "the customer is right when they're right." He took off the service bill which we wanted to pay because our waiter was great. Overall the food is SO mediocre, overpriced, charge for bread, had zero seasoning and it was way too loud in the place (and pretty empty for a Friday night)-- it's not worth going back to begin with but we now never will. read more

Abraham was our sever and was very attentive to us our entire dinner. He was a great server and we learned a lot about him. If a manager sees this please praise him. Great ambiance in a great neighborhood. A very cute place and tapas is always fun. I would say the tapas was not super varied. It was more twenty ways to serve up sausage and potatoes, versus a menu that might have one mushroom dish, one lamb dish, one poultry dish, etc. The fish was too fishy in the paella the evening we were there. I love finding little gold nuggets of treasure like this just off the high street where so many seem to rarely stray. Just around the corner from Fulham Broadway station, this little Spanish paradise seems a world away. On a lazy, sunny Sunday afternoon El Metro was a perfect treat. Since the weather was so nice we sat on the patio, though as an added touch they provide lap blankets and a standing heater for the ever unpredictable English weather. Immediately we noticed that there seemed to be an unending stream of Spanish locals stopping by to chat with the staff. It made for a wonderfully friendly atmosphere. My husband ordered a few tapas including chorizo, shrimp, chicken and squid. I ordered patatas bravas and chicken con chorizo. My main didn't come out until after the tapas came out (slight misunderstanding with the waitress...most likely my fault for my obsessive need for special requests) so I was FULL from nibbles off of his plentiful tapas before my dish even came out. Then when my main came out shortly after, it was gargantuan! It was nearly half a chicken on a big pillow of rice topped with a fresh tomato sauce. There wasn't as much chorizo as I thought but that was actually okay as I'd eaten half of my husband's. I made a good effort of it but in the end they assumed I didn't like it because there was still so much left. I hate wasting food so next time I'll know and now you have been warned. In fact we were both so stuffed that didn't even eat dinner that night after a having this delicious and hearty meal. In the end our meal cost about £51 for the two of us, but the next time we know not to order nearly as much food. I can't wait to go back with a bunch of friends to share some sangria (which I didn't have but looked amazing) and savoury dishes! read more

Live music, authentic tapas, two flat-screen TVs for World Cup indulging...ROAAAAAAAAAAAR Specific things that are FLY: Pitchers of delicious (dangerous) sangria, tortillas perfection, the most amazing chorizo....outdoor seating, genuinely friendly staff who do not laugh at my broken Spanish and lastly, the local crazy dude in full linen suit tryin to start some flamenco clapping up in the joint. Outside they advertise £7.50 for a main course meal before 7pm, but when you get in, they don't offer you the menu that this corresponds to. Confusingly, they only give you the regular menu - so it would be easy for a tourist, or anybody really, to assume that the special prices are for all the mains dishes on the only menu offered. So, given that I'm used to these tricks by restaurants, when I asked about the special offer on the main meals, it's only THEN that they gave me a different menu for the £7.50 meals. A bit sneaky thought. Why not just give both menus before 7pm? (Yeah, I know the answer, but I still wanted to say it) Also, the price for a virgin cocktail is the same as for a regular cocktail. wtf. And they don't take American Express. read more

Authentic Spanish in Fulham. We had all of the classic tapas plates: pulpo, chorizo, tortilla, papatas bravas etc. All of it was amazing. They also have Spanish beers and drinks which were also great. My only criticism of the food was that the potatoes seemed a little soggy and I wouldn't have them if I returned. The restaurant settings is nice as its outdoors but with a makeshift wall which keeps out the noise and the unpleasant view. read more

Place was ok overall. Having travelled to Spain on a regular basis and thus know the cuisine well, this is not very Spanish. It's however ok. Prices are ok - I could see them being lower for the quality you receive. House wine is cheap and terrace out front also pleasant. read more

Firstly, I will start by saying that I am Spanish and the food here really is just a poor imitation of anything Spanish, except for the fabada, which is great and do recommend. However, it tastes just like the tinned fabada that I bring from Spain, so I have always thought that it is the same tinned one that I purchase. Still, it is the only thing that I can recommend from here, and it is quite filling in itself (beans being its main ingredient) Not that I have tried everything on the menu, but over half of it. Yes, I was persistently trying to find out why everyone recommends this place as a good Spanish tapas place, and I gave up in the end. Other than that, I can highlight the atmosphere which is very lively with good Spanish/latin music on the background, and the setting, which makes it ideal for a night out as a couple. Also, there is live music some nights of the week, which is quite good. Finally, the tapas are quite expensive, but there is a 241 offer with tastelondon except Fri and Sat night. read more

Generally not bad for a London Tapas restaurant. The paella is quite good here and is definately recommended. Most of the tapas dishes are also very tasty. I think its one of the best tapas restaurants in London for the price. Generally its not very expensive. In the afternoon there is a lunchtime buffet of paella and various dishes. The buffet doesn't have a big variety, and is not as tasty as ordering off the menu, but its still good value for money. Also its easy to get to, being located in the Hammersmith tube station (H&City line). In the evening its a good place to dance after dinner too, as it becomes quite lively, and the music is quite upbeat. The Sangria is also recommended, its not bad here. Would recommend if you're in the area. read more

EL METRO is a real gem of a restaurant in the heart of Fulham which is a must for anyone who visits London. The exterior speaks for itself as it is quaintly decorated in the traditional Spanish style complete with a heated outdoor terrace to delight the intrepid diner. The staff are very friendly and happy to talk to you in detail about any of the dishes you many want to eat on the menu. They have tasty Tapas,seafood-like calamari,squid so on and so forth. Their selection of wines and beers, especially if you like cold beer is excellent. They have live music at the weekends,and with Chelsea Football club around the corner from Fulham Broadway Station it can get a bit rowdy and noisy. The prices are very reasonable and its worth tipping for the service. read more

This place is one of the best tapas bars I've been to in London. I've spent a lot of time in Madrid, Sevilla, Barca etc. and I know the cuisine well. I had the seafood platter and boy was I impressed! Really authentic flavours. Great atmosphere, always lively and buzzing. read more

TL;DR - Overpriced for the quality and possibly questionable hygeine and cleanliness, Not too long to read? Read on! Went here for lunch with work because one of my colleagues loves their chicken skewers and dragged us all along (Although the princess in our group kept complaining that she'd rather go to Wagamama). We went as a group of 9, most of whom required Halal food. When I walked in, I was instantly hit with a smell rather similar to turps. Princess also complained openly, saying "Ew, this place smells weird". At least 3 people asked for chips and ketchup with their food (!!). Princess asked for a prawn dish traditionally made with wine to be made without wine, which out waiter seemed a little surprised about. However, he obliged, and brought out a bowl for her to discard the prawn shells in a bit later (Told you she was precious!). When Princess asked about some chips, he told her slightly impatiently that they'd be coming very soon. There was a wait of about half an hour for our meals as the staff were trying to bring everything out at once, but we all got the right dishes and drinks. The wine glass used to serve my water in was dirty and the carafe of tap water we were given had little bits floating in it (I guess it was straight from the tap and unfiltered). Penne carbonara was the typical creamy cheesy affair that is everywhere in England-based restaurants with a couple of hidden slivers of garlic clove; the padron peppers were over-oiled and a bit too soft and coke was coke. Nicked one of Princess's chips as she'd barely eaten anything and they tasted fresh. I appreciated the waiter offering to add parmesan to my carbonara. I don't know about you, but £19 for a pasta, a soft drink, a tapas and service seems like a huge rip-off to me. I went back to query the price because it seemed excessively high and got told about the service charge. Not sure whether it was on the menu itself, but it's definitely something to watch out for. The waiter was attentive and I was surprised to note that no fuss was made when I noticed how much food others in the group had left. The decor was fine, although I was a bit put off by the jamon near the bar which looked to my - untrained - eye like it was moulding at the top and had a knife left sitting in it. read more

This restaurant is great. It's a small hole in the wall, very charming, with a bulls head on the wall right as you enter. I had the chorizo picante which was the best chorizo I've ever had. This is a super-cheap tapas bar, with a fab lunch buffet. As some of the other reviewers have said, the buffet is very reasonable: I think it's £6 to eat in and £3 totakeaway, which is a real bargain. There's a great variety of food, including paella , meatballs, lentils, as well as healthy salads to have on the side. Obviously as it's all you can eat, you can go back for as much as you want. It's very handy if you work nearby and want a quick cheap lunch. It's also pretty quiet, so you can read the paper in peace. The staff are friendly too. read more

El Metro is a nice, well located restaurant just a few steps from the Fulham Broadway station. Decoration, music, language, staff and evironment are a mix of spain and latin. Food is very good, so far I have tasted the hamburguers and they're really one of the best in town. Prices are fair and service is very good. Live soft latin music in weekends makes the place more attractive and a real experience for locals and strangers. It fits perfect for a romantic but non-conventional date. read more

My boyfriend and I have been here a couple of times and we really WANT to like it on the basis that it's clearly a local business and the staff are very sweet and it's nice to sit outside in the sun. And some basic items - like the gazpacho, the sangria, and the chorizo - are fine. But anything more complicated than that is really not very good - the ingredients don't taste fresh and they're badly cooked. A recent order of fish with eggplant was inedible; the fish was overcooked and dry, the eggplant overcooked to the point of disintegrated mush, and both were litterally swimming in tepid olive oil. Kind of nauseating. The service (while well-meaning) is very absent minded, and the tables and everything are sticky and dirty. read more

The staff was unnecessarily rude to me. I ordered Almejas a la Marinera, which is typically one of my favourite dishes. I tasted a few of the mussels and they were clearly not fresh, so I put the plate aside and didn't eat anymore, without making a complaint to the staff. When one of the waiters came to clear our table, he abruptly demanded why I had not finished my plate. I simply told him they didn't taste very fresh and smelled rather bad. The waiter maintained that they were meant to taste they way they did, and then insistently pressured me to eat them. I refused, concerned for my health. He then proceeded to grab a mussel out of my plate using his hands and ate it to prove it was perfectly fine. I told him he could eat them all, but I was't going to have any. He then gathered some more waiters, and all started eating out of my plate, as if to prove their point. I found this to be highly unprofessional and rude, and will not be eating there again. read more
