Great spot for quads & ATVs. It gets very packed near the main road so careful with kiddos. I like that they have bathrooms & picnic tables. There's a small fee for entering the area, I believe it was 15 bucks.

3.5 stars-( just saying) IF El Mirage would/could provided New decent shaded areas/rest points other than the pre-existing, would be awesome! - Friendly Reminder- Trash- If you pack it IN --pack it OUT!! My suggestion if you get lost: If you were to get lost, find the Dry lake bed and direct yourself to it. From there head to the main entrance road to find your way back to your camp location El mirage offers - " El Mirage must have a pass: daily ($15); weekly ($30); or Season ($90 - Oct. 1 to Sept. 30th" 4star- Been here several times for camping and for the day with family and friends. Great place to ride your dirt toys on trails or create your own or on the dry lake bed when allowable. I would suggest if your riding on trails or making new ones, ride always at least in pairs (safety first). Mother nature is beautiful but unforgiving. Bring your EZ-Up for shade, as natural shade is non existent. Some camp areas have metal canopy shade, but minimal, not enough. In SUMMER season please stay hydrated. It can gets very nasty hot. In WINTER season it's great during the day but as the sun sets it gets cold for sure. Enjoy & Stay safe!

Nice place to take your off road vehicles out and camp. Negatives people don't have any respect for your campsite of for the place. They leave there trash everywhere which is horrible also we were grilling dinner and people were doing donuts and riding super close so yeah burger and potato salad with a side of dirt on everything was one the menu. Next time we will camp on the dry lake bed instead maybe less people and headache. Other then that the trails are fun and riding on the dry lake bed was awesome. Early morning and evening rides are my favorite. Really pretty sunrise and sunset here. Also I never seen one ranger the entire Labor Day weekend.

Good place to ride your bikes with the kids or friends and family. I drove to this place without knowing nothing. Just grab my bikes my RV and my kids and away we go. Soon as we drove in the park rangers welcomes you politely. They don't cart you for bikes they don't give you hassle or turn you down. I park my RV ,set up started barbecuing with the kids enjoy the dirt bikes. No one gave us problems In anyway. You can do a bonfire ,Have music ans camp. We only went for a few hours and went home but next time I will definitely camp overnight. The only thing I didn't like was driving into the lake from the freeway. You have to drive through a broken road in trashy city before you get there. I felt that my RV was going to break down or leave my suspension behind with the terrible condition of the road. You better have big tires or 4 x 4 so you won't feel the hurt of your car breaking down with the cracks and bumps. Hopefully one day they could fix the road so you can Have a smooth ride. Overall we had a good time.

Found this place from google earth . decided to have our photoshoot here and were stunned how close the jets came in while taking photos

Beware of the wind storms!! This place is great when your pop up tent isn't being demolished by the strong winds. Be prepared. Tie your items down. Sand storms can hit out of no where and make you feel like you're in the mummy movie lol. If you don't like the dust probably not the place for you. Wide open spaces to ride. Came here to teach my girlfriend so it's cool when you're not being blown away. Bring lots of water and ice if you plan on staying the night.

Amazing recreational place to have fun in a safe environment.Any lower than this and your car might scrape but nothing major.

Went out there to try out a photo idea but was turned off by the ATV's and that we couldn't drive on the lake bed.

Ask the Community - El Mirage Dry Lake

Is the dry lake opened right now?

No, not right now due to the holiday tomorrow & I believe also cause of the corona virus

Do they charge for parking? What should one know about having a photo shoot here?

You have to ask permission before having a photo shoot. I believe it takes up to 3 days. And there is a $15 fee to get in or $30 for the week.

Don't ride on the lake if this is the situation out of respect to SCTA guys who race their cars here.

The dog park looked kinda rough due to poop and debris being left everywhere and the small grass area was completely dead. It's mostly dirt compared to the other dog parks in Hesperia and Apple Valley. I don't really like how the gates don't have a secure latch. It's more of a push paddle handle, I just feel like it may be easy for the dogs to get out. Water fountains and poop bags are provided, but it'd be nice if people would actually use them. I came by again today and the DP looked much cleaner, they added another bench and the grass area is alive again. Just fyi, there are homeless that hang out there. Be cautious walking around the park areas due to debris/trash. There was also glass in the parking lot by the hall. I just wish the dog park had more grass.

This is also the home to Little League and the baseball diamond was in top condition like the dugouts, bleachers and restroom facilities. Parking is ample and within walking distance to the playground. Grass (at time of my observation) was green and the park was welcoming. Richardson Park offers a delightful contrast to the desert surrounding this park.

This path takes you to lower campus of VVC in one direction towards Bear Valley Road and you will be facing the new Aldi shopping center at the end of the trail. On the Victorville side expect to see more shaded areas due to the homes of SVL right next to the path. It is paved and divided path that bikes and pedestrians to enjoy. There are no restrooms or anything on this path. At the end of the path there are bike pumps/tools/air if you need it. This is where most people park entering through Fish Hatchery Road and parking unloading their bikes or beginning there walk/run. Parking is limited in this area, but if it gets busy people park in the dirt. Also note there are poop bags if you bring your furry one. Be sure to grab a couple before you start your run/walk. Nobody wants to see a pile of poop or step on it. Pick up after your pet. What most people don't know is this path continues in Apple Valley however you must go east on Bear Valley over the bridge then cross the street to the Jess Ranch shopping center. The path again begins towards the Cinemark side of the shopping center. This path takes you again along the Mojave Riverbed behind the Jess Ranch planned community. On the AV side there are benches ever so often if you need to take a breather. It would be great if they could connect it somehow with some pedestrian bridge or something over Bear Valley, but who knows if that will ever happen lol. As others have mentioned if you head back along the path towards Apple Valley and Yucca Loma bridge the path splits and one takes you under the bridge into Mojave Narrows. It is great ride into Mojave Narrows in a brisk morning. I wouldn't do a walk alone at sunset or night as Mojave Narrows and the path itself is very heavy with vegetation and who knows who is lurking in there. While biking at night I see mom's pushing their stroller on there self phone not aware of their surroundings and always makes me a little anxious thinking someone could harm them, so I always keep an eye out when I'm on the path The path ends in Mojave Narrows and makes a u-turn and leads you back in the other direction. It the morning you see lots of fisherman and families out by the water. Couple things to note: The path is long, if you bring your kids, bike, etc be prepared with water and be prepared to carry your young kid if they say they are tired. lol. Don't go biking, walking or whatever alone where you could put yourself in danger. If you go during the day or when weather is warm there are a lot of tiny bugs. They will get in your face, mouth, etc if you are biking. Where some sunglasses and a mouth covering or you will get a mouthful of them in your face. It is extremely hot in the summer during the day. So again bring water and dress for the weather.
