I recently needed to bring a care package to Tucson, where daily temperatures hover around 75°F. Since I wouldn't arrive within two days, using dry ice was essential to keep the contents fresh. Finding dry ice locally proved challenging, as the nearest supplier was farther than anticipated. The name El Monte ice but it's actually in La puente , [[HIGHLIGHT]]Upon arrival, the staff was exceptionally helpful. Unsure of the required amount, I consulted them, and after a quick call, they recommended 5 pounds to last 48 hours.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] To be cautious, I purchased 10 pounds for approximately $22. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The staff kindly assisted in bringing it to my car.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] After 26 hours, I checked the package and found that nearly all 10 pounds of dry ice had sublimated. This observation aligns with general guidelines indicating that dry ice sublimates at a rate of about 5 to 10 pounds every 24 hours in a standard insulated container. I used the box from hungry roots grocery delivery. I think the result will be better if I have ice chest .I'm relieved I doubled the recommended amount, ensuring my care package arrived in Tucson safe and fresh. Given this positive experience, I will definitely return to this supplier for future dry ice needs.

I had a large party and needed some ice at very affordable price. Thanks to yelp i found this spot and sure enough its super affordable and had super great service from the staff. It has a small parking lot. As i pulled in and staff member came up to me and showed me their displayed prices and types of ices they sell. I opted for 3 - 40 lbs bags of ice. When comparing to grocery store and gas stations selling ice, this place was a real bargain worth the trip. They also have large blocks of ice and shaved ice as well. Once i told them what i wanted another staff member brought the ice out on a cart a loaded it into my trunk. Man talk about full service and with a smile too. read more

We have to use many extra ice chests to keep all the goodies she brings. Somehow she found this local ice supplier here in Lake Elsinore and advised me their pricing was very reasonable, especially for dry ice. I stopped by this morning shorty after they opened and was warmly greeted by "Tim" the General Sales Manager in the lobby area when one enters. He is awesome and patiently answered all of my questions regarding the shelf life of dry ice in my cooler(s) and the formula (weight of dry ice) to use per day. While standing in this lobby area, Tim walked over from his desk to the bin containing the dry ice. He then scooped, weighed and bagged it. Tim explained to me that this location for the California Ice Company is the the production site that manufactures approximately 25,000 lbs of ice per day. This site has been here for four years. They have another location, "San Diego Ice Company" in San Diego. They are both commercial and public retail sales. I was impressed that with what the ice company can produce, from bagged ice, block ice, dry ice pellets or dry ice blocks, block ice for ice sculptures, and something I never heard of: clear ice cubes for whiskey with the ability to customize it. I only purchased 10lbs of dry ice pellets this visit. There is a minimum purchase of 5 lbs for dry ice with selling price of $1.50 per pound. The business is little hard to find. You enter a driveway at the end of 3rd Street where 3rd street curves into Pasadena Street. California Ice Company is the last office building on your left. You can also look for the orange windsock on the corner of their building's roof. This place is a great resource for all of your ice needs, especially if you need those big bags of ice that club stores sell but are not opened yet or have sold out their supply.

For our fog machine, the crushed dry ice worked best since it created an instant, dramatic effect, while the block ice burns more slowly. The 15 lbs of dry ice was perfect for our 4-minute song, but if you need the effect to last longer, I recommend getting significantly more. This store was incredibly convenient for picking up exactly what we needed. For anyone planning an event, music video, Halloween party, or anything requiring a similar effect, this is the perfect place to get high-quality dry ice. While the fog machine was rented separately from a production company and unrelated to this store, the ice and machine worked seamlessly together to create an incredible atmosphere.
