We get ice here for all our parties at my mom's house in Norwalk. They always help out to the car and we just load. This woman is a superhero. I don't know how she lugs around all these ice bags. I only get ice here. This nice old lady is buff, she will pull the big bags of ice from her ice locker with ease, and if you let her she'll put them in your car too. I never let her put them in my car but if she did it would probably be easier for her, because she is buff. This is the place if you're having a big party and need big ice. I hate when you go to 7/11 And ask for ice they send you to the back fridge and there's these little pouches of ice for $10 each. read more

THEY DON'T WARE MASK WHEN HANDLING THE ICE. FILM SHOWS Feb 1st At Pico and Spaulding I noticed Ice being delivered by a male and female neither wore FACE MASK I asked the store owner why they were bringing in ice with NO MASK, I then called out to my hubby to come in and take film they walked out to get more ice as he was walking in, he asked why are you delivering ice with No Mask its a health hazard, the male and female started ranting about there is NO VIRUS AND ITS NUN OF YOUR BUSINESS, they are TRUMP PEOPLE WHO are putting us all at risk. THE FEMALE JOKING SAYS I CANT WARE A MAKE FOR HEALTH REASONS, WHILE BRING THE NEXT BATCH IN SHE THEN SNEEZED WHILE CARING IN FRONT OF HER TO BE SOLD. If you need ice or dry ice, Athans is the place to go! I came here this morning and I was worried as it began raining hard. I was lucky since it was open and still raining. The woman was helpful in getting me 10lbs of dry ice and it was $15. There were other trucks and cars stopping by to get ice, so she does get a lot of customers. Double check the hours of business as I've been here twice not knowing they were closed at 1pm on weekdays and closed on Tuesdays. read more

I'll keep the short and cool. Athans is the most reliable ice company I've ever worked with. I needed 800lbs of ice for a Yelper Party at the Santa Ana Zoo. They quoted me a fair price and a delivery time of 6pm. Dude was there at 5:55pm in OC traffic! The ice wasn't half melted and the owner dropped everything in the right place with out any help. Dropped by on a Sunday to pick up ice for a party. The staff here couldn't be nicer. We were able to get plenty of ice for our two self-service bars. The 10 lb. blocks of ice paired with 20 lb. bags of ice cubes kept all of our drinks cold all day. I would probably opt for the 20 lb. block of ice for the outdoor bar next time since that seemed to melt faster than the indoor bar. If you ever happen to need ice and are running late, give them a call and they'll keep the office open just a bit later to accommodate you. They also have dry ice here. Prices are super reasonable compared to some other ice houses I've been to. read more

When our refrigerator went out we had to find dry ice until the new one was delivered. My husband found this place and said pleasant things about how helpful the lady that helped him was i.e. how much ice needed, life expectancy, where to purchase when they're closed. A few days later, I needed to pick some up. I called Athans Ice House and just as my call went to voicemail I noticed it was the day they were closed so I hung up. Dropped by the ice house on our way to go camping. Watch out for "The Ice House" sign on the right side of the road. Parking is available right outside the door. The ladies who helped us could not possible be any more friendly or helpful. They were stupendous and even gave us advice on how to make the block of ice and dry ice last longer. Kim was great, and they were on time. The driver that delivered was friendly and listened to my suggestions very well. it was one of the easier vendors to deal with on a hectic wedding day. No Problem. Although i do wish to say taht the prices posted here on yelp are out dated, since I did not pay 3.75 for 20 lbs of ice. I paid closer to 5.00 ! All my questions were answered very timely via email (and I had several questions). After a dozen or so emails, I confirmed my order. I told them I needed my ice by 6 and they came at 5! When I answered the door with my hair in curlers, the delivery guy (who I suspect is the owner) was concerned that he was too early! No way--it was a relief since I hadn't used them before. He was so friendly and he put the ice where I wanted it (scattered about). He even unbagged the ice for me. I got their cold-draft vintage ice, which are those large cubes served in fancy bars. I found this spot out of desperation. Had a camping trip planned just after the 4th of July and was looking for dry ice I went to my go-to spot Smart & Final thinking that there would be plenty. I didn't realize so many people used dry ice on the 4th. I yelped the nearest dry ice station and Athans came up. I didn't even know this place existed until this day. A small spot that I never knew was there. The owner was very nice and helpful. She had plenty of dry ice and regular ice to go around.
