Two tacos de al pastor and one taco de asada
Vette L.

If you are looking for, somewhat, authentic tacos in the Annapolis area, this is the closest you'll get. The food I would give four stars but add the service, amid COVID-19 paranoia, and it gets three stars. I ordered three tacos and a coke. Total came out to $10.60. Not bad. The problem for me was I ordered tacos with no onions, I told her twice. When I was getting ready to eat my food it had onions. *bummer*. What sucks is I checked for how many limes they provided me with before leaving and I did not pay attention at that very moment that My tacos had onions. Of course, I asked for extra limes because they gave me one slice of a lime for all three of my tacos. She gave me an additional two slices. When I first arrived, it was empty, I was the only one ordering, no one came to the window. It was until the lady cleaning the table that's behind the truck (she was really nice), got the lady inside the truck to help me. I am short so I didn't realize the menu was on the truck counter. She then points and says "menu is right there." She didn't have a mask on, strike one. Lady who charged me didn't have gloves or a mask on, strike two. I was asked if I wanted my receipt sent to my phone, so I was like yes! That's genius, until she handed me her phone to type my number. That was strike three and a shame on ME for typing my number on the phone device when I had no gloves and she didn't either. ‍ I put hand sanitizer on as soon as I got in my car and washed my hands when I got to my office. This is the third time I eat out, which really consists of me picking up food and eating it at home or in this instance, my car, away from people, since March because of COVID-19 and how paranoid I am. Just a reminder to those restaurants, that we want to support you, we want to buy your food but when you don't display a safe environment, it breaks my heart. I hope to try this place again in the future because I believe in second chances. I'll just check my food before I leave the taco truck vicinity.

6 dollars fridge to microwave fries, nasty. If your preference is microwave food this is the spot.

I recommend trying his food it's right at the gas station. The tacos are great to try if you are unsure what to eat.

The best tacos around Annapolis and well worth the trip over. I suggest the beef which is my favorite however the chorizo and chicken are also good.

Taquitos....sorry we started eating them! But sooooo good!

Food was amazing and seasoned well! I've always seen this truck but never stopped but I'm glad I did today! We were going to go to Uncle Julios but I wasn't waiting 1.5hrs!! We got the al pastor, chicken, chorizo, and carne asada tacos. Carne asada plate, pupusas, and taquitos! Yes, we ordered a lot!! Tacos were authentic, everyone loved and taquitos were very tasty. I wish I would've took pictures before we started but I saved some for later! LOL best decision we've made...better than Uncle Julio's! Unless you want "chain" Mexican food.

One of the four plates I had to throw out when I got home.

Dry tacos, rice tastes store bought. Beans were bland. Nice service but kind of pricy too for what you get

I eat a lot of Mexican food and this is easily the best I've tasted for Miles around. Birria enchiladas were off the hook. And the salsa there is fantastic! Just a couple more notes about pricing though, because I think it's worthwhile to mention: there is no lunch menu. Most Mexican joints have a lunch menu, with smaller sizes and lower prices. not here. The portions are very generous so be prepared to get a dinner menu and to-go box. And I ordered a draft Mexican beer and got a 24 ounce glass for nine dollars. I think this is another attempt to raise your check. Most places will give you the option of a 16 or 24 ounce. Yes these are nitpicks, but I'm not complaining because the food is so freaking good.

The ambiance is very cozy, their customer service is also great and friendly but the best part is the food. Portions are really generous and tasty. My personal favorite are the steak tacos & the birria tacos. Last Wednesday we ordered takeout for my Mother in law's birthday because she also loves this place. She always says she feels like she's eating healthy food because everything is so fresh and delicious. I highly recommend this place.

We didn't realize the name had changed from Jessie Jay's to just Jay's since we hadn't been here in quite a while. We really like Jay's. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, and the outdoor bar area is a great place to relax. They have also added a covered outdoor dining area, which is a very nice addition. When we arrived, it wasn't busy at all. We were the only ones sitting at the bar, but about 15 minutes later the place was packed. I ordered the Drink of the Month, the Blueberry Mule, and it was excellent. For lunch, my wife ordered the Fiesta Bowl with rice, black beans, Mexican cheeses, queso, corn pico, crème fraîche, cilantro, and carnitas. I ordered the Birria Tacos--three flour tortillas filled with tender short rib, mozzarella cheese, diced onions, pressed on the grill, and served with corn pico and a flavorful consommé for dipping. When our food arrived, everything looked fantastic. The short rib in the Birria Tacos was incredibly tender and full of flavor, and my wife's Fiesta Bowl was excellent as well. We both really enjoyed our meals. As a Toast Rewards member, I received a discount on our meal and earned points toward future visits. It's a great rewards program, and I recommend signing up if you haven't already. A lot of restaurants participate in Toast Rewards but don't always mention it. Overall, we had another great experience at Jay's. Great food, excellent drinks, and a fun atmosphere. Hopefully, it won't be as long before our next visit, we can't wait to come back!
