El Nopal opened its second spot in Pigalle a few years ago. Bigger than their first restaurant in the 10th, this hole in the wall is a cozy place to get tacos, tortas, burrones, chilaquiles and other types of Mexican comfort food. A nice selection of Mexican beers and some pretty good salsas as well. Definitely check this place out!

To set some expectations, this review is based on the level of quality of Mexican food in Paris. I am from Los Angeles, so IMHO Paris's Mexican food scene or its quality is nowhere near LA's. Got to the taqueria around 2:30pm so all they had by this time was pork -- Al Pastor, Pierna Adobada, and Chorizo. Ordered the Al Pastor Burrito and 3 Tacos that had each type of pork. The tacos were decent. One highlight of the tacos is that they make the corn tortillas from scratch. They have the flattening device to make the tortillas. The burrito was okay as well. Most of the burrito was filled with rice. Wish there was an option to order an all-meat burrito. The salsa was not spicy at all, probably because it's catered to Parisians and their spice tolerance. A couple of recommendations to make the food more on par with LA's: -install a rotating spit that has Al Pastor cooking, and add pineapple to the tacos -add more onions and cilantro in tacos -add onions and cilantro in burrito -not sure whether habanero peppers are available in Paris, but if they are, make pickled habanero onions so customers who enjoy spicy things can top onto tacos/burritos -add an avocado salsa option Overall, for Mexican food in Paris, this place is good. When compared to Mexican food in LA, this place is just okay and leaves Angelenos reminiscing of tacos/burritos back home.

My husband and I decided to give El Nopal a try since we have been eating pasta and pizza for the past 6 days and being Mexican we were missing some good Mexican food . This place was delicious ! The tortillas are hand made and the carne asada had so much flavor ! Topped with cilantro , onions and a guacamole salsa washed it down with a Jarrito. This place is a must try !

A very authentic Mexican taqueria really obsessed with the quality and hospitality of this establishment would definitely recommend this amazing eatery in Paris , tan lejos y tan cercas de nuestro país con su comida . Viva Mexico raza

This place is authentic mexican. The food was good. The salsa is amazing. I highly recommend this place for tacos.

Bless this place for offering decent Mexican food in the area! The heat of their salsas is definitely French heat... meaning basically no heat at all (and the communal bowls of it left out on the tables are a bit odd... didn't feel the most sanitary, to be honest). But everything else tasted great. We chatted a bit with the guys at the counter and thought it hilarious that he said the clientele there is mostly North Americans tired of French food and missing tacos - guilty as charged!

This place met our southern Californian Mexican Food standards!! This little hole in the wall was definitely the cherry on top to our Paris trip. We have been trying to find tacos and burritos that remind us of home. The green salsa had enough flavor and spice. I ordered the 3 taco set with chorizo, asada and alambre, each taco got better and better! While my husband got the asada burrito. You can taste the freshness of the maize in the tortillas, the meat was on point ! The customer service was even better, they spoke French, English and Spanish. I felt like I was back home. The placed was packed when we arrived a line practically out the door. Which was definitely a sign that the place was good! There is an outside bench that we sat at with 2 mini tables and the window behind it slides open and that's how we received our order. I wish we tried other stuff, I'm sure it would have been just as amazing! Also, orders must be more than 10€ to use a credit/ debit card.

Best Tacos in Paris! They make their tortillas fresh in the kitchen daily. The carne asada tacos was probably best tacos ever. Not just comparing in Paris but I'm comparing to LAs and Tjs. The meet was chopped up in perfect size cube so it was perfectly cooked and not dried. The young senorita that owns the place is from Mexico so she knows authentic Mexican flavor. Perfect place to take care your Mexican food crave while in Paris.

Great burritos and tacos. Next time I will try quesadillas and sopes!

Good tacos. Reasonable prices. Of the three or four Mexican places I've been in Paris this is the best.

While we ate and enjoyed the local culture we all wanted something with a little more spice. Our daughter was the one to find Fajitas. It's a great find in the Latin Quarter where we stayed. The chips and salsa were actually some of the best we've had even in California. We all ordered enchiladas - chicken mole enchiladas and my husband had regular chicken. Mole enchiladas are my daughter's favorite and there's one place at home which makes them to perfection. She said these were very close to her favorites. We've covered the food which was AH-mazing - your tastebuds will not go wrong here. The service was really delightful. Our server was friendly, helpful, and attentive. Also, I have to give all of the servers +10 XP because in Paris almost every store, restaurant, etc. is multi-story. Where we were seated to dine was one floor down from the main street. The way down.... a rather long metal spiral staircase. I can't even walk two feet without tripping on a piece of dust. I don't know how these servers make it all the way down a narrow spiral staircase with hot plates of food. We still think fondly of our meal that night and should we return to Paris, we'll be certain to stop by for comida.

This is possibly the worst Mexican food in Paris as well as the worst margarita anywhere. A…read moremargarita from a can would have tasted better. The owner was neither rude nor friendly but tired and inattentive. Our desire to have a break from weeks of delicious French bistro food, was not worth the 80 euros we spent for enchiladas for two and one margarita each.
