I came in a quest to find good tequila in Paris. Although this placed failed miserably in this category and in drinks in general robbing it of one star) the food scratched the Mexican itch. The margarita is not a margarita. It's more an orange Julius with a vague suggestion of alcohol. Lackluster. On food, to qualify, I have been fortunate enough to eat lots of good Mexican just over the border in California and Texas. Therefore my standards are pretty high. I ordered the quacamole Chico followed by the chicken enchiladas verdes. The quacamole is authentic and delicious accompanied by beautifully complex sauces - jalapeño, red and crema. The balance, flavor and warmth was perfect. The enchiladas verde hit the spot but it admittedly was fairly two dimensional in flavors. The tortilla seemed a bit low quality (rubbery) and, as lamented by others, sadly served with red beans instead of black. Overall I enjoyed the enchilada and if I lived in the hood I would most certainly order again. When Mexican is called for, this place scratches the itch. Check it out. read more

Very nice Mexican restaurant that feels more authentic than most others in Paris. One detail to note: the portions are not huge, so you might be still a liiiittle bit hungry after a delicious 9€ fajita and a pretty good 7€ sangria. Their desserts do not seem awesome though, so we didn't try any. Oh, and also, no A/C at all, so not the best option in a heat wave - but the dishes are so good we can forget them! read more

Not very authentic Mexican nor very flavorful. Nice outdoor seating though. We had the formule for 12.50 with sangria (nice touch but not so Mexican) + quesadilla of your choice + dessert + cafe. In theory, not a bad deal; but in taste, not such a good deal. I ordered the "Real Madrid" Quesadilla, comes with Chorizo, cheese, tomatoes; and on top, avocado, lettuce, tomatoes and pickled onions; with on the side, 4 little bowls with red beans, guac, sour cream and spicy salsa. The little bowls were the best part of the meal, the most authentic Mexican and the most flavor. The quesadilla was simple cheese, salsa and chorizo, nothing special. For dessert, I had the riz au lait, runny, served luke warm, meh (and I love that stuff). The search for real and good Mexican food in Paris is still on. There's always EL NOPAL! read more

I wanted some Mexican food so we decided for this restaurant it was really good honestly being far away from Mexico I can't ask for a lot we had enchiladas and usually the tortilla is corn and this was flour tortilla not really a big deal, the sauce was good so can't complain about it and he had nachos for Appetizer pretty good. Coming from California I've had a hard time finding good Mexican food. I've been to almost every Mexican restaurant here in Paris and had yet to find one with that authenticity. Although they don't use black beans (hard to find in Paris) it was still amazing! We ordered the guacamole, yum! Margaritas- a bit too sweet for my taste- and I had the enchiladas verde. My boyfriend had the queso fundido. Our food was hot, fresh, and to die for! The place is cozy, although since it was warm we sat outside. Not too busy of a street- just a lot of foot traffic. The service: 5 stars!! Everyone is so nice! I can't wait to go back and bring everyone I know! read more

We came here as a relatively large group of 6 ppl and were seated upstairs. The food took forever to come and I didn't find it to be extremely tasty. I had the chilaquiles, which consisted of nacho chips drowned in guac, chicken, refried beans, and cheese. It was okay - i couldnt tell if it was because i didnt like the dish or the restaurant food was not good, so im gonna be a bit generous here. Food here is inexpensive, around 11-12 EUR a main, so that also saved them from a two star. There are plenty of places in Paris that serve better Mexican, but this place is in a really busy neighbourhood, so they simply win by location. i may give this place another go if someone suggests it, but i wouldnt come back on my own. read more

I came here with a few friends for dinner, after reading about it on Yelp. It is notoriously difficult to find food Mexican food in Paris, but I think we've done it with Zicatela! First we started with a large order of guacamole, which came with a few different spicy (SUPER spicy) sauces, and creme fraiche. This was great, and enough for three to share as a starter. We all ordered enchiladas for main courses. I had the enchiladas roja (vegetarian), which were baked in a spicy chipotle sauce with cheese on top, stuffed with veggies, and served with rice, beans, guacamole, and creme fraiche. It was really delicious. The chipotle sauce was great, and I was completely full by the end. One friend also had the enchiladas roja, with chicken, the other ordered enchiladas with mole sauce which she really enjoyed as well. The sangria was good, margaritas delicious, service was friendly, and when we left we were each given a shot of some kind of tequila mixed with lemon and something else (really not strong, which was good after the margaritas) on the house. Plats are around 11 euros, drinks are 7, so this is a good spot to get lots of really tasty food and drink at a very reasonable price. read more

Came here the other day for lunch with some friends, we got the formula which was €15,5 +€2 for substitutes. I got a sangria, enchiladas verde, a desert and a coffee. I love Mexican and spicy food and it's very hard to find in Paris. The enchiladas were AMAZING, so, so good. The only thing that could make this place better is if they add elote (Mexican corn on the cob) that would be heaven. Definitely returning! read more

Finally, real Mexican food in France! I went there with four other hungry Moms for a Girl's Night Out, and we were all impressed. One gal even thought that her enchiladas were verging on the point of too spicy for her! The guac was fresh, my fajitas were sizzling, and the corn cake made at the restaurant was moist and light. Don't hesitate to tell the staff that they can make your meal spicy. We did because typically the French do not do spicy. Their standard of spicy is like the U.S. standard of mild. We think that the chef and staff were pretty pleased that they could make their food as it was intended because we each got a shot of tequila on the house! This DOES NOT happen in France. Food is very average, no better than my home cooking using Old El Paso kits. I had an enchilada that was bland with beans that were sweet! Liberal use of a microwave to cook, the bar and kitchen are in the same small area. Service average. More of a tourist restaurant and best avoided. read more
