Great place to have a descent vegetarian meal. I've been to El Pan Comido twice and had good meals. Every time I walk by at lunch is very busy and during the weekend there's people waiting. The dishes have good flavor, are well season and portions are fare. It's sometimes easy to forget that it's all vegetarian! The service is pretty good. The waiters are friendly, quick and helpful. All in all, a solid place to stop for a veggie bite. read more

I ordered the "paquete" which is a soup and salad, drink and main item with bread (burger/sandwich/hot dog, etc.) it was a good deal and the burger I got was the Da Vinci which is a portobello burger. The mushroom is so delicious. I think it is marinated in something that gives it a slightly tangy taste. The sandwich my boyfriend ordered was the Morrissey sandwich. It had asparagus and he said it was good. read more

I went to Mexico about a year ago, and this little hole in the wall restaurant serves 5 course meals and five star ratings. The best part is that it is extremely affordable! I can truly say I loved it, and the atmosphere is greats they have tables out on the patios, and play cute music. read more

This place has really delicious vegetarian food! I had the Paquete with the portobello mushroom burger, soup of the day (spicy tomato and mushroom), a side salad with potatoes and carrots, and a fresh guayaba juice. The burger was really good but I tried a bite of my fiancées sandwich la Cubana and it was even better. The ambiance is charming with tables made out of old doors and charming outdoor seating. It was a great place to come for brunch and I will be back soon! read more

I love this place, it gets pretty full around lunch time (1pm-4pm) but it's totally worth it if you're looking for vegan/vegetarian options. I'm the only vegan in my family and took them all to try it out, they were all impressed and loved it! Even my 10yo meat-lover (ew) little brother! I've even stopped by just for the chips (expensive but worth it in my opinion) and the vegan brownie (very dense and delicious, really want to try to recreate it). Very kind staff and great atmosphere. I have been to both locations and I love them. read more

As vegetarians we were so glad we found this place! On our first day in the city we went here for lunch and they did not disappoint. I got the Big Juan burger and it was so good (made with soybeans, beans, corn, beets, carrots, six seeds and Manchego gratin cheese served with spinach, tomato, avocado, onion, alfalfa, pickles, mayonnaise and mustard). The hubby got the Sabina sandwich and that too was good (breaded soybeans, beans with corn, manchego gratin cheese, lettuce, tomato, avocado, onion, chipotle, mayonnaise and mustard). The next night we tried to go to Forever Vegano for dinner but they had to close early and El Pan Comido was not too far away so we went there again. I got the Brigitte Bardot (kinda like enchiladas in mole sauce) and hubby got the Juana la cubana sandwich. Service was good and the staff was friendly and helpful. We will definitely come back on our next visit! I wish there were more (good) vegetarian/vegan only restaurants in Houston. read more

I went here for trying the chilaquiles, and ask them to go, the package where they put it was not the best for that, to small, all the salsa was falling into the bag, they use too much salsa, couldn't finish them, the price in the menu say $65 and the charge me $90 .. no bueno. read more

This place has a very nice set up with outdoor seating. The guava and mint agua fresca (fresh water of the day) is very refresing. I also had the "vegan albondigas and vegan chocolate brownie". I really enjoyed everything and the service was on point as well. Prices are fair. I recommend this place. read more

After a few days of visiting Mexico City we were craving something besides tacos and tortas. Really happy we made the trip to Pan Comido - delicious, fresh, interesting food. Great beer too! We had the Lola (bowl with tempeh, lots of broccoli, kale and quinoa) and the Brigitte Bardot (kind of like enchiladas in mole with plantains and hibiscus.) both were great, and large portions too. The beers were also also a nice break from the common Mexican lagers. We had a Colima lager and a Tempus strong porter. Great little oasis. read more

Nice place to eat. Incredible vegetarian and Mexican food. The place is a little small, but I guess it's intended for small groups (we were 6) and it might get crowded. The rustic feeling adds a je-ne-sais-quoi to the place. If you're going on your own or with a friend, this is a cozy nice place. read more

Best breakfast! So many tasty options and great prices, plus friendly and helpful staff. My friends and I enjoyed the Tolstoi paquete which included our meal, coffee, fruit and granola, and a sweet chocalatin. I will definitely go here again when I come back to DF, great vegetarian spot. I'd steer clear of the French press coffee and go for an espresso drink though (our filter had some gaps so all the grounds came through into our cups). Try this place out! read more

The food is good, although some dishes will be over salted like their vegan Mac n "Cheeze". This place is primarily vegetarian, but vegan options are available. The daily menu with a soup and a sandwich/burger is usually a good deal. Their cookies are tasty. A couple of vegan cookies are available. read more

Perfect find in DF. Stopped by for lunch as we wondered the Roma. The lulu salad was amazing So fresh and flavorful. It is a warm salad --- could not stop eating it. What a fantastic little place! We went there for an early dinner. It started pouring rain, but we were sitting under the awning on the sidewalk, which was very nice. Everything we tried was good. The waiter was very polite, spoke English well, and warned us that one of the teas was not a refill. The falafel was easily one of the best I've had anywhere, soft and fluffy. My stomach is sensitive to things fried in bad or reused oil, but this gave me no trouble. Everything was fresh. read more

Super friendly, always has customers. My experience wasn't great. Twice I've had too much dressing on my salad and grit in my teeth after eating apparently unwashed kale. The flavors were fine, though. I can't speak for the sandwiches or other bread-based things (gluten-free). read more

The best vegetarian food I had in Mexico City. There were so many choices that I had a hard time picking. My husband and I each ordered different entrées and drinks and shared and loved them all. Next time we are in Mexico City, this will be the first stop. The server was very welcoming, helpful and attentive. There was a menu in English so we knew what we were ordering. The prices were excellent value for the quantity and quality of the food. I can't recommend this place highly enough. read more

The tables had two delicious spicy chili oil like condiments which elevated each of these dishes. And the juices--WOW. So refreshing, vibrant, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. I admit that I am a carnivore who tends to eat a lot of chicken and beef, but El Pan Comido might turn me vegetarian. The food here is THAT good. The last time I went, I had the portobello burger with goat cheese are it was heavenly! I'll be back for more very soon! ENJOY! read more
