Don't waste your time and money here I ordered some rice flour pupusas and yuca con chicharrones, the rice flour was dry and also the flavor like expired or "Rancio" Around and inside the pupusas was a lot of balls from the flour. The chicharron was RAW and improperly cooked I told to one server about the situation and she said nothing. I just told her "Please let them know about this " It's okay Im not gonna eat it but Im gonna pay for it. But nothing happens. So sorry guys, again please don't visit this place. As much as I love their pupusas I don't like being stolen from. I was curious how MY total was $58 but the bill was $73.11 when it was just 2 of us. WELL the taxes, a supplemental fee & they automatically grat you on all orders (which I don't mind but put a sign so all the paisas KNOW) the service here is a hit or miss & the wait can go from 25-35 min AFTER you put your order in. Service is terrible if you can't speak English. I called to place a pickup order for a party and as tried to place my order in broken Spanish, the person just gave up and hung up on me. I needed the food so I had Spanish speaker call for me and when my friend mentioned they were calling because they hung up on their friend earlier, the employee just laughed it off. Wow. Looky hear all y'all fools that review this place bad. If you want an non greasy pupusa use your head and order with little cheese. This is what causes the good greasiness. If you want non brown plátanos, go somewhere else that doesn't know how to cook. If a plátano is white, it will be undercooked and will taste raw. Everything in this place is made from scratch to be as fresh as posible for the customer. Saying this means your food ain't gonna get out to you in a 5 min fast food restaurant style kitchen, So y'all just gonna have to wait. If y'all want Americanized El Salvadoran food, go some place else cause here, here you are gonna get some damn good authentic El Salvadoran food. Food used to be a lot better years before. We decided to go tonight and it was disappointing. We ordered sopa de mondongo, sopa de gallina, pupusas revueltas, y pupusas de calabaza. All the food tasted really old, nothing fresh. The rice was clunky (like it had been reheated from several days ago), soups were watered down with no flavor, and pupusas were super greasy. The food is good but if you make an order to pick-up they will NOT make you a priority. No lie I've made several orders by phone and walk in 45 minutes later and the order was still not ready. They Make the best pupusas.... but customer service needs alot of improvement. Also the table in front of current cashier 9/30 and 10/24 5:15pm (rude pony tail )..is dirty she's walked by it not even thinking of cleaning it. But again, pupusas are awesom. You can't pay by phone here another reason to improve. I didn't speak Spanish and was given the stink eye. She drastically needs customer service training. So brush up on the espanol. The food is ok, nothing to write home about. You're able to call and place the order ahead of time. The only problem is that they apparently don't start working on it until you arrive. We placed an order and were quoted 20 mins, we got there and had to wait an additional 25 minutes. My beau and I like to drive around sometimes and scope out new, neighborhood places to eat. On one such occasion, we happened to drive by El Papaturro. "Salvadorean food? We've never had that! Let's turn around!" So we did. A quick reconnaissance of Yelp reviews, and we were ready to try pupusas for the first time! Here's what we ordered, and what I thought of them: Pupusas (one meat/cheese, one cheese/jalapeno): These were definitely tasty! I had never had pupusas, and I was pleased. They reminded me of Indian stuffed parathas. Like a stuffed corn tortilla, I guess. Anyway, yum. Carne Asada: We tried to order this medium rare, but language was definitely a barrier here. It came out cooked well done, and was pretty tough. Seafood soup: Unlike other places I have had seafood soup, I had to work too hard for the seafood in this soup. The shrimp and crab were still in the shell, and even the fish had the skin on it. I didn't really enjoy it, and ended up leaving it all. I don't really know the story behind this, but every table got a round Tupperware-type container of some sort of a cabbage slaw. This and the pupusas were my favorite part of the meal. As we left, we decided that it was a solid 3 star restaurant. Maybe if we had been more familiar with the menu, or didn't have the language barrier slowing us down, we would have enjoyed it more. Would we go back? Probably not anytime soon. But we DID enjoy it enough. read more

Delicious pupusas and not greasy at all. They do take a while to bring them though. So if you're really hungry, ask for an appetizer that might not take as long to bring. The "fresco de ensalada de fruta" "fruit salad drink" was pretty good too and not too sweet. Though I do wish they would have a smaller serving of the drink. Sometimes those drinks at Salvadoran restaurants are sweeter than they need be. Parking was very tight but I was lucky to find a spot. I unfortunately was there when someone had put money in the jukebox. I can't stand country music and I had to hear at least three Country songs. Ughhh. Place has the best pupusas! I love to come here to order them. But be aware.... the wait time for food is outrageous, definitely worth it though. I'd recommend calling ahead of time, and waiting another 15-20 min after the wait time they give you over the phone. Pupusas have always been a delicious marvel to me. We've been coming here since it was "La Pupusa Loca" to satisfy our craving. These pupusas are the real deal. Greasy and delicious as all hell. The rest of their menu does not fall behind either. Ambiance now. . . . I don't think it's air conditioned in there. They at least have upgraded from the picnic tables that used to serve as tables. Don't come here in a hurry. It takes a while (which I think is the case at most Pupuserias to get your food). God forbid someone play something on the Jukebox that is not to your liking, because you will go deaf once those quarters are dropped into the machine. It may be the last song you ever hear. All that out of the way. This is really authentic El Salvadorean food and it is delicious! Yes. They do orders to go. Probably the best pupusas I've ever had, being in the military I've had my fair share of el salvadorian food. This place is by far the best in service and food. The pupusas take some time since they're handmade, and the flavor reflects the time and love they put into it. The curtido (pickled cabbage) is a good supplement to meals and has the added kick since they make it right. I suggest getting the pupusas and tacos when you're here. read more

Randomly stopped at this place and tried the Pupusas revueltas and they were really good. Unlike other pupusa joints where all I taste is the tortilla dough. If you have never had had Salvadorian food, it is a must. It is very similar to Honduran (My 50% ethnicity) food but have a few different dishes. First and fore most, this ladies here are very attentive and friendly. I have ordered to go and ate here to. Both times have been pleasant. The drinks: Horchata - personally I don't like it. A "Salvadorian" horchata is different than a "Mexican" horchata because of the extra ingredients. So no matter where you go a Salvadorian and a Honduran horachata will taste weird to me. It is not horrible either. Try it, you might like it. Marañon (cashew apple) - By far my MOST favorite "agua fresca" aka fresh drink made from real fruits and ingridients (usually). You MUST try this. I always order this fresh drink here or when I go visit Honduras. It is even better than "Mexican" horchata or Tamarindo. You won't be disappointed. The food. You can't go wrong with pupusas period. They are good and decent size ( I eate two). I usually get "revueltas" which consist of meat and cheese. Or you can get a cheese pupusa too. They also have a loroco (vine) pupusa. Overall, I recommend this authentic Salvadorian restaurant because the staff is friendly and the food is always good. read more
