Loved the el Patio...nice clean facilities, comfortable rooms, friendly service...some say the place is "dated"....I'd say it's "retro" but it's never changed as far as I can tell so let's say that it's "original"!! PS....great wifi for a place alot of people say is out-of-date....just sayin

I had a nice stay at El Patio Motel. I liked the look of the place-old school Florida vibes. It's located in a quiet neighborhood of Key West, but easily walkable to Duval St and all the touristy stuff. We were a group of 4 and the room suited us just fine. It's not fancy, but we were barely in our room, so the minimalism of the room was totally ok for us. It was affordable, clean, and had a mini fridge, 3 important things for me. The motel has a rooftop terrace with lounge chairs and a pool. There's also free parking. I would definitely stay at El Patio Motel on future Key West visits.

Planning a trip to Key West, Florida for the first time.....I was shocked how expensive hotels were. For a weekend evening in season (mid November), $250 was the average rate per night for both Friday and Saturday. But if you're willing to pay $250, you can have your choice of places to stay....any upscale hotel or motel in the heart of downtown Key West. After researching availability for multiple weekends and trying to find prices for under the standard $250, I came across El Patio Motel. Finally I said to myself....El Patio Motel for $175 per night....what a bargain! I couldn't believe my good fortune. The only criteria I wanted was that it was centrally located. And it was...all within walking distance from the highlights of Key West. I arrived Friday morning and although they wouldn't let me check in early, I was allowed to park at the motel for the day. (Originally I had feared parking would be difficult by the downtown area) And from El Patio Motel, I had a walking itinerary planned exploring Key West for the remainder of the day. From the motel, it was 0.5 mile to Southernmost Point, then 0.4 mile to Ernest Hemingway House and Key West Lighthouse, 0.3 mile to Duval Street, another 0.6 to Mallory Square and the pier area to catch any water activities you may do for the day (we did parasailing just down the street from Mallory Square) and if you're interested 0.5 mile to Harry Truman's little White House. In all we covered a 3 mile radius before heading back to the motel to check in and shower up before dinner. El Patio Motel was just ok. It's a little run down and our motel room could have used a makeover. I didn't mind the place being outdated. Ultimately I'm there to see Key West and we were only putting our heads down to rest at night. That's why price was important as we were barely spending any time at the motel. Both mornings we went out for breakfast so I don't know if there's anything offered, but we were content finding a restaurant to eat out at. Also for dinner, instead of walking back to Duval Street, we took a Lyft ride from El Patio Motel which cost $10 each way but was worthwhile after doing lots of running around during the day. So if you're not too particular about where you stay in Key West, I'd recommend El Patio Motel. It's not fancy, but it gets the job done. It will probably be one of the cheaper places you'll find while most importantly being near the Key West attractions.

Clean, friendly, centrally located!!! Such a gem!!! This is our first time to the keys. I LOVE the mid-century architecture. Rooms basic, but spacious and very clean. Bed was harder than ours at home but we both slept great. We rented bikes today to get to the marina for our snorkeling trip.

This hotel was so charming, and the staff was incredibly friendly! The rooms are definitely no-frills (as most small inns/motels/b&bs in KW are) but omg this place is CLEAN! Located in a very safe area, close to all the action/attractions. We stayed in a queen room - it was definitely small, but we spent most of our time outside of the hotel anyway, so we didn't mind. AC worked wonderfully, and was very easy to turn on & off. As for the amenities: There are bikes available to rent for your entire stay (at a great price, too!) and plenty of parking, which is included in the room rate. Small refrigerator in-room. Vending machine by the office and close to a CVS for all your other needs. The pool is very cute and clean, staff brought us pool towels from inside the office when they saw us jump in. There is an adorable rooftop patio to lay back and admire the stars at night. I would definitely stay here again!

Property does not have one consistent vibe, but it is closest attributed to South Beach/modern. Rooftop bar has live music in the evening and good drinks while overlooking Duval street. Breakfast selection is good, but if you are used to complementary breakfast through the Marriott status, then you are only offered eggs, bacon, granola, and toast. Sadly the bacon was stale (we were one of the first, if not the very first to order breakfast, so it being completely cold and stale tells me it's not from today). We asked for coffee at breakfast and were pointed to the coffee station on the front end of the bar. Just drip coffee, nothing special. No milk, alternatives or honey, just cream, sugar and stevia. That part could be improved for it being about $400-$500/night. The room itself is decorated well and clean. Plantation shutters look great, but they do let in light in the morning since hotel doesn't have any curtains. Walls are thin as we heard the phone ring, but turns out it was our neighbor.

Even when I forgot to get something from the car and needed it again. I walked to it, but they offered to get it. The cleaning staff was friendly when we saw them in the hallways also. We book a King Pool view room and it was clean and spacious. It has a small fridge, coffee maker with pods, a pull out couch and 2 chairs at the desk, and a tv. The bed was firm but comfortable and the pillows were nice. The only thing I could see is the at the hallways of floor 2 needed some patching and paint at a few areas. We will definitely come here again on our next trip, soon.

The property is filled with hammocks and tree swings, perfect places to drink your FREE coffee or tea from the lobby every morning. You know what I loved more than all the free beverages (lol)? The fact that we visited in the middle of summer and didn't get bit by a single mosquito! How is that even possible in Florida during summer??? They must spray & have mosquito repelling plants. Or super powers. Our room was cute and clean. We got the standard room (no upgrades) after the Hyatt screwed up our reservation and we were scrambling to find accommodations last minute. But ya know what?! This place was so much better! I can't rave enough about Eden House. We are definitely staying here when we come back!

On top of that the room is almost closet sized with an exposed shower and sink which makes it feel very humid in the room. Theres barely enough space between the bed and wall to walking into the room. The shower also hadn't been cleaned with a piece of old soap stuck to the floor and bug crawling under the pillow when i moved it.. I brought it to the attention of the man working the front desk who first told me it was a queen. The GM came on later that evening and admitted that it wasn't a queen and offered us a slightly larger rom but same size bed. Again the sink was in the room and it was stuffy and humid which made it hard to sleep more than four hours. I canceled the room after one night and tried to get my money back, but they've refused. Do not stay at this hotel. The "queen room" is basically just a hostel at hotel prices. $260 a night in my case.

They have complimentary water (2 bottles) in your room. They have a mini fridge and options to buy snacks and liquor. They have fruit infused water next to the pool daily. You will stay hydrated. There is an honor bar next to the water; which has a few pricy options for a beer or other canned beverages. I did see plenty of people have their own drinks poolside. So, outside drinks are allowed at the pool...but no glass. They have two pools. I preferred the pool towards the back. There are lush beautiful plants all around you and you'll often see little lizards scurrying by the pool. They did not have a late checkout for my room but they were nice enough to hold my bags and have use of the pool while I waited for my friends to arrive. I would stay here again but during high season, the rooms get expensive. I loved room 3 but would love to someday stay in the cute cabin looking rooms up behind the pool. They have a covered porch, sitting room m, and a large bathroom. Overall, the service was solid. The grounds of the hotel are lovely, the bed was amazing, and the pools were a lovely respite from the crowded streets and heat of the city.
