We enjoyed the stay and Hillary had our breakfast ready. She was wonderful and we so enjoyed speaking With her. She has worked here 24 years! She was another perfect representative of the Conch house. I am a light sleeper and the road noise might bother you. They had a noise maker for sleep and it helped a lot but I think in the future I would try a place off the main drag on the conch property for sleep. My husband slept like a rock! The breakfast was wonderful and very clean accommodations! I had to add we met Carol on the last day and she is alway wonderful. This property is doing it right. My bride and I have been coming here for at least a dozen years. Our first anniversary was spent in the Marquesa room and it has become our favorite. The staff has always been fabulous and when we call to schedule our next visit they remember us. Carol has been so helpful for us over our multiple visits, but everyone is fantastic. The location is close to Duval st. but not too close. 15 min walk gets you to the famous Mallory Square. If you are morning people as we are sunrise is not to be missed and is a 8-10 walk away. We then walk to Mary Star of the Sea for morning mass, by the time we get back they have breakfast ready and sitting poolside is a great place to plan the day. We can't say enough about how welcome we feel here. So much so, that this trip our daughter and son in law joined us for the time here. Bring your family, bring your friends, tell everyone that this is a great place to stay. We can't wait to schedule our next trip. read more

First let me start by saying, I was threatened with "vigorous actions in the appropriate legal venues" if I posted this review. I refuse to be bullied or attacked, so I'm posting in hopes of preventing this kind of thing from happening to anyone else. In July 2017, I booked a stay for NYE at Conch House. However in Oct 2017, I was diagnosed with stage iv cancer and had to begin treatment immediately, so obviously could not travel. They have a pretty strict "no refunds" policy, but given the circumstances, one would hope empathy and compassion would trump that (and that we were only 50 days out instead of 60 - too bad I wasn't diagnosed a week earlier, huh??) That was not the case. We were told that they would be happy to hold our 50% deposit until "I was able to travel". Who knew when/if that would happen. So we moved forward with cancer treatment - chemo, radiation, surgeries - and hoped one day we'd get to take this trip to Key West. We realized this year that wouldn't be possible, so I reached out to them again. After three emails and a phone call, I finally received a response from the owner. In that response, I was threatened about leaving a negative social media review (I never said anything about doing so). Not only that, but the owner also made it clear that he googled/researched me! Knew who I was. Knew my social media. Knew my history. (Or at least how much I shared in public). How's that for creepy?! While I can't comment on the accommodations or location of this Inn, I can tell you I was treated badly. That in itself is why I wrote this review. 1. You shouldn't have to reach out to a company four times before you get a response. 2. Kindness and compassion go along way. If you are in a position to help someone, do it. It might not be much to you, but it could mean life or death (or something close to it) to them. 3. Never try to silence someone. It's just a bad thing to do. If you are of moral standing, someone else speaking their opinion shouldn't threaten you. 4. Be careful if you stay here, they might be googling you too! 5. In the end we were given a partial refund, but the unkind nature of the owner/management wipes that gesture away. read more

Seamless check in. Off street parking for $7/night. The B&B is nice and clean. The cabana house (room) is quaint & perfect for a couple and a short stay of 2 nights. I would need a larger space if the stay was any more than 2 nights. Comfortable bed and nice linens. The staff actually cleaned up the room and made the bed. The Marriott Hotels don't do that anymore due to COVID-19 (and I think it's actually a cost savings scam for corporate purpose). Nice lounge chairs around the covered porches. Excellent staff. The breakfast was disappointing (free though). Store muffin, store "mini quiche, store banana bread, store OJ. The fruit may have been fresh. The location is a couple blocks from Duval St., :20 minute walk to the harbor for sunset cruises, fresh fish dinning and southernmost point. I would return the next time I visit Key West read more

It's everything that a Bed & Breakfast is supposed to be; historic, quaint, detailed, and cozy. Upon arriving, my boyfriend and I were starving. After allowing us to check in early, we were immediately directed toward a local, Key West favorite: Camille's. See, when staying in a Bed & Breakfast, there is an understood and unmentioned secret code. You don't reserve a room at a place like the Conch House and hope to be led to the Wendy's on Duval Street. No, there is a nature of wild freedom, of touring the unchartered roads of a city that is attached to an oasis such as this. Now, on to the "bed" aspect. We reserved the Cabana room for two nights; a private little cove directly on the pool deck, perfect for two, well-kept with a distinct sense of novelty. The warm orange bed against the bright blue walls was almost Caribbean. It commanded relaxation. They provided all the trimmings of a hotel: fresh towels, miniature soaps, clean linens, without a trace of that store-brand, generic feel. As for the "breakfast" side of things, much can be said for the two pieces of homemade banana bread I devoured, and the 2 pieces I took for the road. They served fresh-cut fruit, hard-boiled eggs, warm cranberry and lemon poppy seed muffins, the standards - bagels, brewed coffee, juice, and mini boxes of cereal. Did I mention the homemade banana bread recipe that's been handed-down through their family? Everything about our stay at the Conch House Heritage Inn was effortless. Check-in and check-out were both simple and untangled. We stayed at Casa Cabana for 1 night. Carol and Lynn both were nice and helpful. They provided great ideas to make the best of our stay at Key West. The place is nicely done, with great pictures and paintings. However, the breakfast was just ok. All that was offered was cold cereal and some cut bakery products. Even worse was the room. It was cute and all. But there were tonne of insects and mosquitoes there. I got so many bites the morning after. Plus, no flexibility on check out time. The innkeeper would start reminded you at breakfast itself that you need to vacate the room, and by 10.30 if you are not out, she will start pestering you to start packing your bags which was really funny. Our stuff was packed. we were just waiting for rain to stop and get out. Also, if you are reaching after 5.30pm, they will start calling you to stay no one would be around, so you have to figure your way in the inn. Now, the owner (Sam) sends a thank you email after the stay, which is good. The bad part is he asks you to send him a mail directly with your feedback but never bothers to respond. When I sent him a note about the mosquitoes (and doing something about it), he plain ignored, and so did the innkeeper. So, now I think its all a sham! I would not go there again and would rather pay my money to someone else read more

I love it here!!! The inn is big but small at the same time. There are not that many rooms so it's a more intimate + romantic setting, but they have many idyllic spots to sit + enjoy the day. I love the porch area. No kids screaming or running around, bc they do not allow kids under 12 yrs old . They bake fresh muffins + banana bread! They had mimosas, too! The complementary continental breakfast was light, fresh, + hit the spot. The pool is secluded + quiet + open 24x7. The room is beautiful! We stayed in the Hemingway room with wood floors in the Delaney House. The 2 person shower is wonderful! Staff are friendly + helpful! The Conch House is beautiful + close to everything! I love the ambiance. The modern air condition kept the room nice + cold, plus I love that it has a remote control! The cable tv is small but we didn't spend too much time watching tv. Free wifi. It's nice to have a small fridge for our drinks + leftovers. I love the privacy yet the inn is close to everything. There was traffic passing by but it was not bad unless you are a real sensitive sleeper + in our room, they had a sound machine with ocean + water sounds. It's about a 5 mins walk to everywhere + parking was conveniently onsite at $7. a day. They know what they are doing here. They paid attention to detail + they have tried to think of everything from floats for the pool + rental bikes to wander around with as well as modern conveniences like effective air control + wifi that works + up to date plumbing + onsite parking. The price is a bargain really. The rooms are clean, the accommodations are wonderful, + the place is well cared for + well-appointed. I was happy with everything + I plan on coming back. I would highly recommend Conch House for its elegance, charm, + carefree convenience!!! I could also see a wedding party renting the entire inn + having a blast! read more

Absolutely no question about it, this B&B is excellent!! We spent two nights at the Conch House and everything was terrific about our stay. We had the small guest house, it's small and cozy and perfect if you like to get up and go instead of spending a lot of time in the room. The breakfast was delicious and the banana bread definitely lived up to its reputation. All of the staff was very friendly and helpful, when we checked in, one of the ladies spent almost a half hour talking with us about our interests and what we want to do while we were in town. Location is great too! You're a short walk from Duval St. and many other attractions. I can't say enough good things about the Conch house. We are already planning our stay here next year. read more

This historic bed and breakfast was a great find during the last minute rush to plan a trip to the keys. We stayed in the Veranda suite which gives you access to a Victorian style wrap around porch overlooking Truman Avenue. The room itself is a decent size with high ceilings, a mini fridge and a small TV. tucked away in the corner. The bathroom has charming sink with sea-shell imprints for soap holders, and a stand up shower. (I was hoping for a tub to take a hot bath in, but whattyagonna do?) I actually liked seeing the small boxy old TV. because it reminded us we didn't come to the Keys to be couch potatoes. I wish I could attest to the breakfast, but my lady and I just aren't early risers. You will have to deal with the sound of traffic and scooters whizzing by from Truman avenue but you're near the quite end of Duval street so it's not that big of a deal. With that said, you may want to consider renting a bike or scooter because after the first few one mile jaunts to the end of Duval st at Mallory square, your feet will definitely start to feel it. The Conch house is a great place for those who crave a bit of history in their stay, as well as those who want to be near the action but not necessarily right on top of it. First of all, we stayed in the Veranda room, which we were upgraded to it. The desk clerk showed us around was so polite and accommodating. The property is beautiful, complete with a pool. Our room was spectacular. The old antique furniture in the room added to the old Key West feel. We also rented bikes from the B&B, which was nice to support the family. Breakfast every morning was continental style and we would sit pool side and read the paper. A relaxing way to start the day. Only downside is that we didn't sleep well....between the planes overhead and all the scooters on the street....there was noise most of the night. When we return to Key West, we would stay here. read more

Just got home from our stay at the Conch House Heritage Inn. It was our 1st Wedding Anniversary and We loved everything about our stay here. It is in a very convenient location. Being just a couple blocks from Duval St, we could easily walk to any of the attractions on Key West. We stayed in the Delaney Suite and it certainly met all of our expectations. It was like our own little tropical getaway with a private outside area where we could lounge around on the back porch or swing from the hammock. We began staying at The Conch House for Thanksgiving in 2014, and always enjoyed the warmth and welcome provided by Hillary and all of the staff. We just returned here after a couple of years off (spending Thanksgivings with family), and I have been very pleased to find that nothing has changed -- this is still the most charming, homey way to stay in Key West. I am impressed by the way they have taken care to preserve the history of this property while still maintaining modern comforts. Just returned from our week at the Conch House. This was our first time staying here and it exceeded our expectations! The staff here are better than anywhere else we have ever stayed. They were friendly, happy and knowledgeable. From grinding us fresh coffee for our room to calling cabs, they were the best. We stayed in The Delaney Suite which was a wonderful place to spend a week. The private backyard was the selling point for us. It was nice to sit out back in our little oasis and enjoy coffee in the mornings and a drink in the evenings. The inn is in a great location - you could bike or walk anywhere quickly. Renting bikes on the property was very easy. Continental breakfast was wonderful each morning. Plenty to keep you full so that you could go out and enjoy all of the great restaurants in Key West for lunch. Loved the Mimosa's! From the moment I first called and spoke to Carol to the moment we left with a hug, the Conch House was the PERFECT place for us. I use a wheelchair now that I can't walk long distances, so I always call places like B&Bs in advance to find out about accommodations for me. Carol said the Caribbean room was on the first floor of the pool house and had zero steps, a large bathroom, and a small step to get into the shower. Well, I had seen the pictures but to hear her describe that was important for me to make a decision. She told me about other rooms that were available but after talking with my husband, we agreed that this was our best option. I called back and spoke with Hillarie to make the reservation. Even though the room was not in the main house, we were delighted with our choice. It was perfect. The shower head is a little high up for me (but I'm 5'1") and the toilet seems taller than most handicapped toilets because my feet didn't touch the floor (yes, seriously. . .one of those moments where you think to yourself "hmmm, did I . ..shrink? What's going on?"). I didn't need my wheelchair in the bathroom, but if I did, I could have rolled it under the sink. I also LOVED having the entire back of the shower as a seat and very sturdy grab bars. The room was clean, and we all know how important that is. The bed was quite comfortable, the A/C worked well, and we left the ceiling fan on at all times. The closet was large enough to store the wheelchair at night. Refrigerator in the large closet kept our sodas and water bottles icy cold. I usually travel with my own pillow but did not this trip and that was fine. We slept well, and didn't really have trouble with street noise. We did hear the church bells across the street the first morning at 9 (we had gotten in late the night before) and we did hear when fire trucks or ambulances drove with sirens running, but the good thing about being on this side of KW was that we did NOT have roosters waking us up. We have stayed at other B&Bs/guest houses before where a rooster perched on the AC unit each morning before the sun came up and I can assure you that's no fun. . .however, we did not have to worry about that over here. You can hear some noise from guests in the room above you (doors opening/closing, things being dropped on the floor, etc.) but it was normal for the location and nothing annoying. We only used the pool one time, and it was not nearly as warm as I expected - and that was a good thing in the middle of July considering the pool was taking direct sun for hours! My husband helped me down the pool stairs and we floated for awhile and chatted with Hillarie. Before we had arrived, my husband (unbeknownst to me) had called and had spoken with Carol, I believe, to ask about recommendations on florists. We were coming down for our 25th wedding anniversary and he wanted a bouquet that looked like the one I had in 1993. Recommendation was spot on, although I certainly could not lift a bouquet of that size for the renewal ceremony that my husband also had arranged (all together now: "awwww."). So he went into the kitchen and asked Carol to help him pull together a few I could hold. By the time we were to leave, some of the closed lilies had opened, and with that, the orange parts that stain anything they touch. Back to the kitchen for help removing those, wrapping the stems in a water-soaked towel they could spare, and putting the vase in an old box - all done with a smile. We would absolutely stay here, in this room, without thinking about it on our next trip. Perfect for us, and perfect to accommodate my specific needs. read more

My husband and I stayed in the Grande Boca room for a week on our honeymoon. It was very clean, staff was extremely nice, and the breakfast was great. The deal breakers for us was that the bed was so hard and uncomfortable that we had a week of the worst sleep. To make matters worse that particular room has a door that leads to the room they serve breakfast in. The bed is about 4 feet from that door. The issue is that at 7 am they start prepping for breakfast and then at 8am the room is packed with talking guests. It's like 10 people walking around and talking in your bedroom while you are trying to sleep. So if we managed to get a few hours of uncomfortable sleep we were promptly woken up again at 7am. It made for very grumpy mornings on our honeymoon. I know it's an old house and you have to understand that there will be noise but this was absurd. I'm actually a very hard sleeper too. They should make it clear in some way when you book that you will be woken up at 7 am if you get this room. read more

Nice B&B. Everyone is nice and it's a typical home away from home. Good price for what we searched for at Key West. DIDN'T drive once we got there for three days! Shows how close we were to the excitement of Duval Street and the enrichment of the cultural sites, like Sloppy Joes, Mallory Square, the other bars, and oh yeah, the museum homes. Only problem is our room was closest to the main drag of Hwy 1. The most quiet time was between about 3:30 am and 4:30 am. Most of the scooters, motorcycles, and semis had slowed down. That's the only problem. But price and location made it worth it. read more

This is a gem of a bed and breakfast in a superb location in Key West. Right off Duvall Street, you can walk or ride a bike to all the major hotspots in Key West. The house is a Victorian mansion that is excellently maintained. We stayed in the Boca Grande room, which had high ceilings and comfortable furnishings. The furniture was antique or otherwise Victorian in style, and the room was decorated nicely without being too cluttered or kitschy. The bathroom was adequate -- the shower/tub had great water pressure. There was a nice sitting room and outdoor pool and porch to enjoy the mornings and late afternoons. Our room and the other areas were spotlessly clean. The breakfast was nice -- mostly cold offerings like cereal, fruit, and boiled eggs. There were also nice pastries, muffins and yummy homemade banana bread. The staff was very friendly and attentive; we did not want for anything. I can highly recommend the Conch House as a great place from which to explore the island! read more

My girlfriend and I just returned from a 4 day stay at the Conch House over the July 4th weekend. This is an outstanding place to stay in Key West and I highly recommend it. Highlights: -We stayed in the Heritage Room, which is in the back corner of the main house, with a private bathroom across the hall. We were unsure what to think of this arrangement when we booked the room, but it turned out to be really great. The bathroom is spacious and it was actually nice to have some separation between bathroom and bedroom. Also, they provide nice bathrobes in case you want/need one for going between the 2 rooms. -The entire Inn was comfortable, clean and charming. It's obviously a well cared-for property and features lots of historical architectural features. -All of the staff members we interacted with were as friendly, helpful and accommodating as anyone could hope them to be. They clearly take pride in their B&B and it shows. -The location was very convenient to all of Old Town. -The Heritage Room at the Conch House was THE most economical option for our July 4th weekend of any B&B in Old Town. I've paid much more for much less in the past. Only suggestion: It would be nice if breakfast started earlier than 8:30am, so that early risers could fuel up before heading out for the day. read more

My wife and I stayed here on our honeymoon July 18th through July 25th, 2016. We absolutely loved the location and the staff. Very cozy, wonderful building. We stayed in the Veranda room, which is on the top floor with direct access to the veranda overlooking the street. There were two Adirondack chairs perfect for sitting out with a glass of wine. Private bath and great A/C to escape the heat. Elizabeth street is right next to the building which is a nice neighborhood street with a variety of interesting houses along it. It leads straight to the marina and allows you to avoid the crowded noisy Duval street. Key West is a small island, but we found we were able to walk anywhere from the Conch House, so we didn't have to worry about driving at all thanks to its location. Things don't get much better than this elegant, authentic trip into the past. Everything was done beautifully from the renovation of this magnificent, family home down to the daily care we enjoyed. Lots of AC, flat screen TV, beautiful modern bathrooms and a pool bring it up to date with style. The personal attention to our needs was savvy and flattering. We stayed for three nights and it was an amazing experience. Carol was very friendly and recommended some amazing local places to eat. The room was very spacious and comfortable (stayed in the Veranda room). We had the second floor balcony to ourselves and the perfect place to sit and unwind at the end of the night. The breakfast was fresh every morning and the 5pm poolside margaritas really hit the spot before dinner. Pool area was very relaxing and beautiful. We did have a car and was able to park in the lot. We parked the car when we arrived in Key West, and didn't need it until we drove out. The hotel is in walking distance to pretty much everything (beach, Duval St., Hemingway House and the harbor). Absolutely recommend this place and can't wait to get back and stay again!! read more

As we planned our second visit to Key West, the bed and breakfast we stayed in before did not return any calls or emails to try to schedule a date. We found reviews of The Conch House and decided to take a chance. Quite honestly it was the margarita happy hour that ultimately sold us on this place. We were very, very happy that we stayed here, and we'll stay here again our next visit. First off it remains family-owned and the staff and clients tend to return year after year. Friendly staff, friendly clients, a great pool, a great breakfast, and a fantastic happy hour. What else could you ask for? Now we love old homes, but there are certain things you give up versus a modern Hotel. Not as many places to plug in to charge your phone, not a whole lot of room to hang clothes, but the atmosphere and the friendliness and the location is more than enough to make up for all of it. We have stayed at the Conch House before, but had to switch places when we started bringing the dog with use to the keys. This time, however, we had a dog sitter so we could return to our favorite B&B for my parents' first trip to Key West. It was amazing as always. Check-in was super simple and the woman helping use outlined everything in town that we could see, do, and eat and even gave my parents a map with it all marked. The rooms were AMAZING. My parents stayed in the Boca Chica-it was a very large room with a large sitting area, queen bed,fire place, wardrobe, fridge, and a lovely bathroom. It was right off the kitchen, so my parents had great access to the pool and breakfast without being disturbed by other guests getting breakfast (which was nice). We stayed in the Hemingway. The room size was a bit smaller with a queen bed, fridge, wardrobe, and the world's best bathroom. I died a little when I had to shower at home. We loved our rooms. The grounds were also very nice and the pool has plenty of seating and is a great way to cool off. The owner was also crazy friendly and always made sure we were having a nice time, the rooms were up to snuff, and to let us know about 5 o'clock drinks by the pool (which were always amazing). And breakfast-oh breakfast. The homemade breads and muffins were beyond good and there was enough variety of food to keep everyone happy. The water machine was also nice as it dispenses cold and hot water-a must on a hot Key West summer day. The Inn is within walking distance of just about everything on Duval, but you don't get all the traffic and people noise you get from places on Duval. It was just the nicest stay and really a great way to introduce my parents to the keys. We love the Conch house and cannot wait to stay here again. read more

Stayed at the conch House multiple times and each experiences were excellent. The staff is friendly, customer service is above expectations. The rooms are nicely decorated, comfortable, and very clean. The continental breakfast provides choices to accommodate everyone, the banana bread is a must to try, goes excellent with Baby's Coffee, which is the choice brand for the inn. Mimosas with freshly squeezed orange juice is a nice touch too. Located just walking distance from many attractions and Duval Street, but far enough to be able to chill by the pool and enjoy some quiet time if needed. Highly recommend to anyone! read more

Fantastic 4 night stay at the Conch House. The owners are wonderful people who are happy to help with whatever you need. The location is very central and super convenient to almost any of the attractions in Key West. We stayed in the Heritage Room which was very comfortable and clean. It has the separate (but private) bathroom across the hall which we didn't mind at all. Especially since it saves you a little money! Breakfast in the morning is provided by the pool, a great way to start your day. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a great B&B stay in Key West! read more

Everyone was very helpful and the accommodations (Boca Grand Room) was a fine spacious room on the first floor next to the breakfast area. Breakfast started at 8:30 which is too late if you want to dive or get an early start. So we had to get coffee over at the the Subway across the street. It would be great if they just set up coffee the night before on a timer for early risers - suggestion : ) But Carol was so thoughtful to give us some provisions the night before to store in the fridge. The only caution is that Truman St. is very busy with motorcycles late and trucks early. So if you are noise averse you might think twice. Sound proof windows would be another suggestion. Like other B&B's check out is 11 and if you have a later flight or boat ride, you can hang out at the pool. Overall a very nice experience. BTW The Little Pearl Restaurant is just a block a way....that's top notch. Also there's a great massage place called Healing Source and another fantastic restaurant called Deuce's "Off the Hook" Grill, both 2 blocks away. read more

This was our first ever stay at a B&B and we loved it. The place was clean, quaint, and the staff was great. We stayed in the Veranda room that overlooks Truman Ave and just a short walk to Duval. Traffic noise seems constant but we got used to it pretty quick. We looked at least a dozen other B&B's and we're glad we chose this one. Next time we get to Key West we'll probably go back to the Conch House and we would highly recommend it to anyone. read more
