They also had some local craft beer in the refrigerators here that I was thinking about buying, but passed because I was going to be in town for one day. there's also a pretty extensive spirits selection. This supermercado far outstrips any of the offerings south of this point, and should be a stop you make on the way from the airport to Tulum or really any points south. Located inside a weird sort of mini-mall, the Soriana has a surprisingly decent selection of produce, a very large and diverse selection of regular groceries, a big meat, deli and cheese selection, and pretty much everything you could want. The spirits selection is larger than your average supermercado. Prices are pretty decent. Don't miss the little deli section on the left hand side of the store (when facing in from the front) with various types of interesting Mexican cheeses and chorizos. Nothing too artisan or fancy here, but some decent stuff. The only things this place is missing are maybe a fresh salsa bar, some more artisan things, and maybe a little bit better produce section. But compared to other markets in the area, it easily holds its own.

A row of ATMs had reputable banks like HSBC and Santander with super reasonable exchange fees around $2 USD, and plenty of machines so you're not stuck waiting behind someone trying to remember their PIN. The store itself is massive and really well stocked. Fresh produce, dairy, perishable foods, American brand snacks, Mexican candy, and Mexican Takis that are spicier than the U.S. version (yay!). They also have a large alcohol section with brands Americans will recognize, plus local beers and mixers, including tropical juice flavors. Beyond food, they carry household items, swimwear, resort-style dresses, T-shirts, and footwear for the family plus a wide selection of souvenirs. My kids were able to pick out some shorts and tops for themselves and cute Mexican sugar skulls, keychain, and magnets for their teachers. Everything was spotless, including the parking lot and there's a restroom inside. Paying was easy with credit, debit, or cash. This place is incredibly convenient and well worth the drive. NOTES/TIPS: **From La Zebra, about a 20-minute drive.
