Came by to pick up a couple of things and ended up seeing that they had a restaurant inside that served tacos. Went and looked at the food and it looked good. They were running a special buy 4 tacos the 5th is free with a drink! For $6.29 Ordered 2 Barbacoa, 2 Carne, asada and 1 biria. The biria was ok very tender. The Carne asada was really good soft and tender. Flavor was good The Barbacoa was delicious the flavor was great only draw back was it was very wet and made tortilla soggy. This is a typical Mexican supermarket! The prices are typical to any grocery store. You can go there and practice your Spanish, but many of the workers speak English also. Since I live across the street I've been spending a lot of money on their amazing grilled spatchcocked chicken and fresh produce. However, because I'm white, I often get frowned upon, which I tend to overlook since I grew up in an army-town and am used to it. But today, it was even worse! I inquired about some inconveniences pertaining to the store and was blankly-looked at, then scoffed at with a "whatever," then ignored. When I brought it up with the cashier, she said yeah. YEAH? What kind of response is that, REALLY? All one can ever sincerely hope for is a simple apology. Perhaps, "I'm sorry that happened." That would've been nice!! How difficult is that? There are several mexican stores in Lewisville, but this is one of the ones I go to the most, just because of its close proximity to my house. Its your typical typical mexican store. I wouldn't recommend buying meat here, but everything else is good. I love coming here to by pan dulce and In my opinion this place has the best pastel de tres leches. I've never actually tried the food here, but the agua frescas are soooo good. You really can't go wrong with any of the flavors, but if you can't decide which flavor to get you can ask for samples. My favorites are the horchata, mamey, and the frescas con platano. I tried the pistachio one and its also good, but way too sweet. It taste better when its watered down. They have 2 sizes from I recommed getting the large just because its only a dollar more and its litreally twice the size of the little one. Overall I like this place. If you do come just make sure to add an agua fresca to your grocery list. read more

Doesn't anybody know how to rate 1/2 star? This place doesn't deserves a full star!! Just to be fair, I am rating the food court service not the actual store. I was there for lunch and the place wasn't busy, that should tell me something, but I disregarded, hunger is a powerful motivation to disregard your common sense! I ordered the fish fillet and vegetables platter, what a disappointment! The fish must have died of boredom in some deserted area in a very cold lake, during a cloudy day, with no hope and alone, and then this guys cooked that fish with the same happiness that the fish had in his life, ABSOLUTELY NONE!!! Saying that the fish was blend is an understatement, the fish complete lack of flavor reminded me that there was hope on the vegetables, once gain I was wrong. The lettuce had seen better days, probably in December or January, unfortunately We are in FEBRUARY!! The tomato was hanging around and it appears that it welcomed the lettuce back in December to the sadness of the cold shelf, they both grew up by the lake where, The fish died!! And to match the whole experience the service was at the par with the fish, well allowed me to correct myself, It was SIGNIFICANTLY WORST! There was a fish platter special for that they, i asked if it included vegetables, the lady told me yes, so I ordered the platter, once i got the platter she charged me 25% more than the price for the special, so i asked her why, she told me that I wanted vegetables! I said yes but YOU told me that it was included!! She said that everything COULD be included,"you just need to pay for it!" Well, I got to introduce a friend of mine to El Rancho and he is hooked. We got back to his place and he immediately told his wife that they need to shop there. I took a little ride down to Lewisville to go swimming, in 97 degree weather. Right, I'm such a genius. But it got me out of the house and the people I met were great. Afterwards, the two of us tried to make a decision about dinner, and I suggested some marinated skirt steaks from El Rancho. He knew of another place and off we went. On our way back to his place we hit upon El Rancho and I told him we'd find anything else we needed right here. He couldn't believe the place. As soon as you walk in, you're hit with the bakery department and all of the colorful and incredible looking desserts. I picked up churros (99 cents each) and my buddy got us some prepared Mexican rice and then I told him about the agua frescas. He'd never had them. So we got to try some samples and he ended up with a lime one and I ended up with something called mamey. Turns out it's a type of melon. It had a strawberry taste to it, but very mild, and it was really good. Next to horchata, that's my new favorite. Although I haven't gotten to try mango or guava yet. They also had one with banana as well as Mexican standards like tamarind or jamaica. As always, a great store, inexpensive prices and you can spend alot of time wandering this supermarket finding cool things you would never see in Kroger or SuperTarget. read more

Love this place shop here often and they are super helpful and friendly to me. My Spanish is shoddy at best and they always help me to find what I'm looking for or give me tips and tricks as needed. Last weekend I made tamales for the first time and didn't even have a recipe but I knew I wanted to smoke some pork and some chicken. This is a good Mexican grocery store. The bbq chicken grilled onsite is quite good. Certain produce are bargains, especially key limes and every imaginable pepper, as well as ethnic foods like nopales and tomatillos. Did I say Key Limes?......they are sooooo good. The meat department has no equal for variety. Beware: the beautiful cuts of meat prominently displayed are indeed good. But the butcher's sleight of hand will give you horrible cuts unless you specifically direct him to the cuts you want. That can be hard for an old Spanish challenged gringo like me. I have mostly been to this place to get food from their restaurant. They have really good food at a very decent price. Their Pollo Asado, which basically is grilled whole chicken costs $11.99. It comes with rice, tortillas and frijoles (spicy beans with bacon bits). Pollo Regio has something very similar, which is pretty good too, but it costs $14.99. To be honest, I actually prefer the chicken at El Rancho's. I have also had their Grande Burritos, which are huge and packed full of flavor. Their Barbacoa Burrito is the best out of the ones they have. I have also had some Tres Leches cakes from their Bakery. I think their Tres leches cakes are the best I have had in the DFW area. Super clean and great prices! I found this store a few years ago because of their great deals!! Their produce is always fresh and plentiful. You can get 12 lines for $1!! Their meat is at a great price per pound. I got 3 lbs of season chicken legs and a pound of seasons pork chops for less than $7! The store is clean. They have lots of delicious cakes and food plates you can also enjoy. They people have always been friendly. I only wish one were closer to me! read more

I am not a Mexican, but I make it a point to come here once every week. They have new deals that changes every week from Wed-Tuesday. They have really cheap vegetables and meat products every week. They have other Mexican foods and typical grocery food items as well. Once in a while, I try their cafeteria food inside the store as well. Some really good and cheap tacos and other Mexican food. May be fattening, but really really good. The staffs are friendly as well. Highly recommend it !! read more

WORST ACCESIBLE STORE. Please do not shop here if you are disabled. This store has good prices for the clientele that does not mind paying for less than desirable parking and accessible conditions. I have complained to the manger several times and he does not care. Recently I visited again and the ADA parking spots do not have a curb and the line to pay was over 30 minutes. I love this supermarket! I can get all my favorite Mexican specialty items all in one place. The prices are very reasonable. They have good quality meats, fruits and vegetables. I am originally from NJ and I have to say, their bread and rolls are the closest that I can find to "real" Italian bakery style like back "home". Nice crispy, crunchy crust. Not soft and doughy like all the other places I've tried! Oh, the bakery!!! I can gain 10 lbs just looking at all the goodies!! They have the best Tres Leche cake, by far, that I have had in a long time! If your looking for anything Mexican, El Ranchero won't disappoint!! I came in for the in-store taquieria. Parking lot is always full. I really enjoy the "Pollo a la parilla"(bbq chicken) when its not dry. Last two visits have been around 2:15pm. The service was horrible. There always seems to be attendants behind the counter, but their usually doing everything else except for getting the customers through. Me, and one other customer waited at least 5+ minutes before being acknowledged. After the wait, and to hear they were out of Chicken. DONE!!! Will never come back to this store... I'll maybe, possibly give the Dallas(gaston) location a try. read more
