If I could give them a million stars, I would! I hosted our work holiday party a couple of days ago and boy, did they make me look good! We ordered a lechon with sides and a seafood paella. They were both incredible! They bring everything themselves (including enough staff) to finish off the lechon and they prepare the paella right there in front of your guests which is great entertainment. They presented the food in a beautiful manner and cleaned everything up at the end. On top of that, they are the kindest people on Earth! Do not even think twice, book them for your next event! Giovanni Fernandez catered our wedding December 2018. I regret the fact that dinner was the one let down of the evening. My husband and I, and unfortunately our guests, were completely dissatisfied with dinner and the presentation. When we met Giovanni Fernandez for the tasting, we were presented with - and agreed to- chicken with a sauce over it and mushrooms, skirt steak, and spaghetti pasta for the vegetarian dish. This was to be served with wild rice, mashed potatoes and asparagus. The only additional indication given to Giovanni the day before the wedding was to not use as much oil. What we received the evening of our wedding was chicken with no sauce or mushrooms, rigatoni pasta for our vegetarian dish that tasted nothing like what we agreed to the day of our tasting and mushy wild rice. The food was entirely too cold and it took over an hour for our 90 guests to receive their dinner. We do not consider ourselves to be difficult people. However, a lot of money, planning and effort goes into one's wedding and anyone will tell you that food is a key element. We put our trust in Chef Giovanni and expected him to deliver what he promised us during the tasting. Unfortunately, this is now a part of the experience tied to our wedding and we do not believe that it should go unnoticed. We wrote to Giovanni via our wedding planner and after her second attempt, he replied. He said he'd never run into such a situation and that he would want to cater another event for us at no cost. We replied that we didn't have any events planned and that what we would appreciate was compensation for the effect his lack of service had on our wedding. Giovanni did not reply. I emailed him once more and called him and have yet received a response. I'd like to warn individuals seeking his services. A responsible and honest business person does not react like this when it is a fact they delivered subpar food and service. I wish I would have read every single one of his reviews on here because this isn't the first time Giovanni has let clients down. Beware! read more

Gio catered our wedding last week. Initially, we had planned to get rentals from him as well but fortunately, After a couple of meetings with him and much back and forth about costs we hired a different company for rentals and he was hired only for bar setup and food. He was supposed to get to the venue at 4 since the wedding was at 6:30pm. He arrived at 5:40pm!!!! Bride and groom and the whole wedding party ready waiting for him to finish setting up. On top of the delay and all the stress that comes with it... He had presented us with this beautiful idea for a rustic wedding (he showed pictures) where we would serve Hors d'oeuvre in wooden boxes... croquettes were served cramped on salad bowls with paper towels. He never showed his face or contacted our wedding planner afterwards or the day of. He would not even pick up his phone. A professional, honest and reliable person would not only pick up his phone but would check on his events. All that matters is pocket your money and then well... it's not his problem. Please beware of this company! And if you use them after this I advise that you hold payment until your event is over. We paid in full (at his request) days in advance in good faith. I've had the privilege and great pleasure of having El Rey De La Paella cater my 50th birthday party. I had gone to several events where this company had catered. I fell in love with their Paella. I later recommended them to my boss for our Christmas party. This party was a success! Not only did they do two different styles of Paella but they also did some appetizers as well as have bar service with delicious custom made drinks. One thing that has always stuck out is the friendly customer service they have. Giovanni and his brother are very patient and professional and in all the times that I have used their services they have really worked with my needs and made the perfect suggestions for my budget. My birthday party was catered by them and til this day my friends talk about it and brag about the food "The Paella" . I will highly recommend them to all. Tell them Syl sent you. Had the pleasure of dealing with Giovanni at El Rey De La Paella for a last minute birthday party for about 35 people. From start to finish Giovanni not only provided excellent customer service (in that he accommodated us despite my last minute (three days prior to party) request, but he and his team (namely paella chef Eduardo) were super courteous, respectful, and eager to please. This is all in addition to the food being superb and very affordable. We got the valencia package that came with salad, dinner rolls, and we ordered plantains (aka platanitos maduros) at a minimal additional cost. All in all we paid about $14 per person, including tax and tip. Definitely worth every penny! The chef was on time, and the food was ready at the exact moment he said it would be ready, not a second late. I was especially impressed with the quality of the food and the cleanup afterwards. As an aside, I am writing this review while eating leftovers -- there was a lot of food left, even after many people had second servings. Needless to say, everyone loved the food and I received a number of compliments (despite me having nothing to do with the actual making of the food). Even heard a few people suggest it was the best paella they've ever had (and I'm not referring to first-time paella eaters, either). We recently booked El Rey de la Paella for a holiday party for the baseball academy my son plays at. Gio was very attentive and open from start to finish. Gosh, I don't know how many times we changed our guest head count and menu to include something normally not on their menu! The Paella Valenciana was fresh and the Arroz con Pollo was a hit. I have to tell you that even the Chicken Tenders (the off menu item) were delish too. All of the guests were happy with their meals and our two chefs were very professional. It has taken me a long time to write this review in part because I was trying to forget the experience I had at my wedding with El Rey De La Paella. Up until my wedding, Gio was extremely helpful and organized with the rentals and catering I was requesting. However, on wedding day Gio was not available and sent another chef with a crew of waiters and bartenders. The group arrived 2 hours later than agreed without any plates or utensils that I had rented (thank God for my wedding planner). The bacon was undercooked for the bacon-wrapped dates, I received fish croquetas instead of conch fritters, and the rice on the paella that some of my guests received was burned. To end the night, the bartenders left half an hour early and we had a few bottles of liquor that were taken from us. We also had 4-5 half full bottles of liquor that the bartender decided to throw away the top. My husband tried to contact Gio a few times during the week and never received a call back. The whole experience with them was a big disappointment. read more

El Rey De La Paella did the catering for my husband's 50th birthday celebration earlier this month. They were wonderfully attentive and professional to deal with as I planned the event, so I felt very comfortable that they would be equally so on the day of the event, and boy was I right. The chef and his assistant were punctual (actually early), personable and interactive with our guests (approximately 30 people), and the Paella Valenciana was absolutely delicious, in addition to making a beautiful presentation. All of our guests raved about it. I give them a 5-star review (and then some) and highly recommend them.
