    Enchiladas Rojas
    Krysta S.

The best enchiladas rojas you will ever eat. Ever. I mean it. Think- Nonna's homemade gravy (marinara sauce) meets mild chiles atop a deliciously tender enchilada. We stumbled upon this place while walking home after realizing that all the locals were swarming in after work. Man, I will be dreaming about their enchiladas for the rest of my life. The service was quick, the vibes were great (even had live music for a little while), and everything was dirt cheap. We got two entrees which included rice/beans and drinks and paid less than 8 bucks total. This place is the real deal. No gate keeping here- I hope this place continues to thrive.

We quickly popped in here for a bite before Hurricane Zeta hit on Oct 26. The service was quick, the food was great! This place does not serve any alcohol, take note! It's also open to the side street so it can be a little noisy but not too bad. The dining area is covered so you're in the shade and out of the elements too.

This was a great spot for a meal - and an escape from the more tourist-y spots in the zona hotelera! We got a little burned out from waits and crowds at the hipster spots in Tulum and asked one of our taxi drivers where he eats in Tulum's centro. He told us about El Rincon Chiapaneco. And he was right. Great, authentic Yucatecan food. No crazy crowds. Great prices compared to places on the beach! I can't remember what my husband had, but I had the pescado a la veracruzana, which was delicious. And such a filling plate of food. I enjoyed it with a melon agua fruta. This ended up being one of our most memorable, local, authentic meals in Tulum. Some of the places on the beach have great gourmet food, but it was great to take a break from that and have some authentic classics. I'd definitely go again if I'm in Tulum!

These truly are the best tacos! Not only in Mexico but that I have personally ever had! Such a fun find. Service is quick and friendly in the two visits I made. You can't beat the prices! The flour tortillas are light and perfect. The corn are more heart but super unique and delicious. You can't go wrong with al pastor tacos! I mean, pineapple, hello! They don't serve alcoholic beverages but the agua Fresca makes up for that. If you are in the area and reading this, go! :)

Everything here is solid. Tacos, panuchos, empanadas, huevos dishes, mole, aquas frescas. This was my favorite place to eat breakfast/lunch in Tulum. The empanadas in particular were spectacular. Get chorizo y queso. The only gripe I have about this place is that for panuchos you are limited to carne molida or pollo. Other than that, this is as good an antojitos place that I've ever eaten at, and I can't stress enough how good their empanadas are. To top it all off, the breakfasts we had there cost under $15 with a tip every time. That was a family of three eating big and having plenty of drinks. We'll definitely return every visit.

Such a horrible place to eat. We ordered and left our food. No taste what so ever, flies everywhere, no customer service what so ever.

Second time at Arca and much better than our first! We had…read more* our go-to soft shell crab tacos- lightly breaded and served with local edible leaf as a taco shell * prawns with curry sauce- perfectly grilled with the head on * grilled octopus * scallop ceviche that was amazingly presented and seasoned, served with in-house crackers * sea bass filet * dessert- coconut/passionfruit/ mango ice cream served in a husk. Great mixture of flavors! Chocolate ice cream - beautifully presented and some rich chocolate ice cream as well, and another dessert that I forgot. So maybe that one may be just okay LOL * drinks - Miami Nice (passionfruit) and a no name drink that the resto blends into a clear drink, served with a guava block. You take a piece of the guava block and leave it on your tongue, and sip your drink. Very very smooth! Would highly recommend this unknown drink. Michelin starred, reservations highly recommended. Better to come without heels since the flooring is made out of pebbles, dim lighting contributing to the dining experience, and fantastic service.

It was very intimate and perfect for couples but can definitely accommodate a large party. The cocktail I ordered was the Naked in Tulum which was mezcal based and tasted good, so much so that I ordered another one. The food we ordered included: the bone marrow, scallop crudo, Mayan octopus, suckling pig, and grilled sourdough. All were good. However the stand out for me was the Mayan octopus (highly recommend). For dessert we ordered the Marquesita which was not too sweet and a great finish to our meal. I can see why this place was on the Michelin guide. But be prepared to pay a pretty penny for your meal. Shout out to our server Melissa for being attentive, friendly, and giving us recs.
