Brought a group of 22 people in three cars for a last meal together. No reservation, straight walk ins. Caught Erica and the staff by surprise. But they were quick to pull tables and chairs together and split the bill three ways without any hassle. I got to say, besides the friendly staff they have the best Octopus tacos you'll taste. The queso fundido was also a hit amongst our group. The drinks were prepared just right. The coolest thing about this place is that they offered us a traditional treat which were grilled crickets. Yes. That's not a typo. They sell grilled cricket tacos. I was curious to try so was happy that they brought a lil wooden table with grilled crickets, lime orange slices, and a shit of Mezcal. Traditionally, you eat the cricket, take the shot, suck the wedge. The taste? Honestly it tasted like seasoned crispy chicken skin. Pretty good. I might start grilling them at home instead of killing them . No but seriously, very chill ambience with friendly staff and good food. Having problems with my phone so will upload what pics I can once I'm able to.
We walked to this little hidden gem from our hotel and not only were we greeted with some courtesy appetizers, we were also surprised with a chance to try some sautéed grasshoppers coupled with Mezcal and local fresh lime. Having never eaten a grasshopper I figured this was the time and place to do it and Wow, they were actually really good. Think garlic potato chip. The service was amazing, the 6 different tacos were spot on and the prices so cheap for the amount of food we got. We'll be back and of all the places you can eat in Tulum we loved supporting the smaller local businesses above the larger hotel venues for a legit Tulum experience.
OMG!! Some of the best guac, ceviche, tacos and queso I have EVER had! The margaritas were strong and amazing! The tacos were good and the guac and ceviche were so fresh and filling!! It was so affordable too! One of the best Mexican spots in my opinion over taboo, rosanegra or any other spot on that strip! It's a cute small mom and pop place. Come here for bomb food! Go to the other places for the fun!
Checked this place out because of the Yelp reviews and I gotta say the yelp fam didn't miss with La Malinche. Strong selection of seafood and meat tacos and their shrimp aguachile was citrusy just how I like it. The service was friendly and spot on with the recommendations. The place itself reminds me of a fiesta with the banderitas and all the fun colors. The cocktails were refreshing and perfect for the hot Tulum son. Definitely recommend.
La Malinche is a very quaint spot. I've tried a lot of ceviche af this mixto was flavorful and very fresh. The Pastor Taco was absolutely fuego!!! Lots of flavor to it for sure. The grilled octopus taco was tender and perfectly grilled. Finally the passion fruit mezcalita. You get the seeds age pulp of the passion fruit which I love. Is definitely a place to come back to, and the jams were sold too. Thanks for the fantastic service.
One of the best spots in Tulum! We went here our last night and the food was amazing! Appetizer: Definitely order the guacamole, it was fresh and you could tell the chips were homemade. We also got the melted cheese with steak which was to die for! Drinks: We tried the Michelada, pina colda, and margarita all of them were good, reasonably priced and the size of them were big! Tacos: All the tacos we had were amazing! I would recommend getting 4 and try all different kinds!! The chicken fajita, sundried beef, Al pastor shriml, and the vegan mushroom were the 4 I had! My favorites were the shrimp and mushroom tacos! They provide you with onions, sour cream, and a couple hot sauces to put on your tacos! Overall I would recommend this place to anyone going to Tulum. It was so cheap, delicious food, and a cute laid back atmosphere!
Overall enjoyed our lunch here today. The chips and guacamole with the free sides & sauces were my favorite part! The passion fruit margarita was just okay. The tacos were good, however without the sauces they were kind of bland. The burrito had more flavor than the tacos. The service was good and attentive.

Came here for a nightcap after dinner. We ordered a Pina Colada and Passion fruit Margarita with Mezcal. The Pina Colada was watered down and the taste of alcohol was absent. I hardly drink and did not get even a baby buzz from the drink. The Margarita was OK. The service was OK. Each drink was $300 MXN or around $17 USD. Maybe I visited on an off day? There's plenty of other places in the area, this place would be a last resort. read more

We ve come to La Malinche about 3 times on our vacation. The Tacos are sooooooo good and the prices are great. My favorites were the chorizo tacos, Pulpo tacos, fish a la Talla and the shrimp a la Talla. We ll probably come back again tonight lol seriously can't get enough of these tacos. read more

This place is so good. Casual, festive, authentic atmosphere and the best food we had all trip. The sopes and conchinita pibil tacos are to die for. I'd take this place over a fancy one every day of the week. The waiter was awesome too. Had a great night. read more

The chorizo tacos with cheese were my favorite along with the esquites! The server was very nice and the music was a vibe. A little pricey which is why I gave it 4 stars, but overall very good. read more

Overall enjoyed our lunch here today. The chips and guacamole with the free sides & sauces were my favorite part! The passion fruit margarita was just okay. We spent 10 days in the Yucatán eating all kinds of food from street to high end and this was by far our favorite from the entire trip. Everything was so fresh and delicious. The ceviche was so fresh and the tacos were amazing. My sister who is vegan also said this was her favorite meal so that was great that we all had options and were very satisfied! Yummy!! read more
Was looking to grab some food and this spot really drew us in with their cute outdoor set-up and bar! I went with three tacos (shrimp, pastor, and veggie) so that I could get a small taste for all of the different kinds they offer on their menu. My favorite was the pastor! I also tried the ceviche which came served on a tostada with avocado on top. Me and my friends each got margaritas (strawberry, mango, and passion fruit) and fell in love with how fresh they were, you could tell they use real fruit in them. Definitely need to stop back here if ever in the area again! read more

AMAZING!! My friends and I stopped here for some tacos before heading into Taboo beach club and fell in love with the beachy vibe of this taqueria! They have limited seating but luckily we were able to snag a table. If you order to go the service is also very quick. They have a bar and these cute swinging chairs that you can sit in while you eat or enjoy a drink. The tacos we enjoyed were octopus, fish, pastor, and Cecina which were all amazing. I would definitely want to come back here the next time I am visiting Tulum! read more
If you're looking for some authentic tacos on the Tulum beach strip, head to La Malinche for some delicious tacos and margaritas. All the tacos we got were delicious. The margaritas were the best we had on the beach strip too. Generous sized, tasty, strong. Better than all the over priced weak cocktails at the fancier restaurants TBH! read more
I'm so glad we tried this place! The tacos were amazing and you can't beat the price. A lot of places by the beach are so pricey for the quality of food but not here. We ordered the queso fondido with steak, HIGHLY recommend. Tacos were delicious and my michelada was one of the best I've had (and it's the size of your head). read more

We ate here multiple times! They have the best tacos, drinks and great prices though one time it was cash only because their machine was down so just be aware. I loved the al pastor pork taco and definitely get the queso with arrachera beef! It was amazing!! read more

Very cute spot tucked in between all these elaborate restaurants. Ordered guacamole to start, delicious. They brought out an array of salsas, pickled red onions, and onion/cilantro. I ordered the sopecitos that come 6 per order, so good, and one mushroom taco, also fantastic. Hubs got his usual steak tacos which he also enjoyed. Big thumbs up on this joint! read more

La Malinche was an incredible meal that you must have if you want good Mexican food off the main road in Tulum. It is located outside in a center with a pharmacy and a leather shoe store. The decor is very bright and colorful seating and they do accept credit card. We ordered guacamole, queso fundido with Chorizo (a must), fish, shrimp, and beef tacos. Their specialty beef taco was the best taco my boyfriend has claimed he has ever had. It is shredded with smoky flavor and is noted on their menu as a specialty. Service is fast, and they provide a plate of different salsas to accompany your tacos. Food was so good. The fish was so fresh, and everything was incredible. The queso was especially delicious. Pricing is not very cheap for Mexico standards, but it was well worth it! We paid about $60 for 2 people, including water and a smoothie. read more
The first time we ate here the tacos were outstanding! The shrimp and pineapple was to die for. The second time a week later the tacos were good but not as good, so that's the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. There are meat, seafood, vegetarian and vegan options. The staff is always friendly. Yummy salsas and pickled onions with every order. The seating isn't very comfortable as the tables are low and the stools rickety. I'd still eat here again read more

The location is far down the road and a little challenging to see but there were parking spots right out front which was nice. The atmosphere was nice. We loved the tacos. The drinks were pretty pricey and not that much flavor. read more

My husband and I stayed at a hotel steps away from La Malinche and probably visited this place twice a day during the days we were in Tulum. The prices are right, but the food and friendly staff make it even better! We had such a fun and delicious experience here. Skip the expensive Americanized restaurants down the road, you'll enjoy the laid-back and authentic vibe at La Malinche. Each time we were seated, we were presented with complimentary mezcal + sopas. During our many trips to La Malinche, we tried new things. For food, we had the chorizo queso fundido (AMAZING!), guacamole/chips, marinated pork burrito, and just about all of the tacos. Everything was delicious. You really can't go wrong. For drinks, we ordered passion fruit margaritas (frozen and so good) and micheladas. The staff is very hospitable! I cannot say this enough - they gave us great recommendations and were so friendly and sweet. We had to get a photo with them our last night visiting because they are just so amazing. We will definitely come back here when we visit Tulum again. read more

I wanted something to eat that wasn't soooo expensive and this gem was perfect. The tacos and guacamole was awesome. I especially loved the mushroom taco it was surprisingly delicious. Try it! It's some of the best tacos on the beach. read more
