I don't really write reviews but I feel like this is warranted. I went in last week with my…read moreboyfriend 5/16 and had an amazing time here. We went to Forbidden Cove, then after hung out in the brewery side for a bit because my boyfriend wanted to have beer. I still got a cocktail! The atmosphere was great, drinks were on point, and the service really stood out. I especially wanted to mention the bartender on the brewery side. I watched him handle a situation with a customer whose ID wasn't valid, and the guy gave him a really hard time about it. Even with all that, he stayed completely professional, kept a positive attitude, and never let it affect how he treated anyone else. It's easy to be friendly when everything's going smoothly, but seeing someone stay calm and respectful under pressure says a lot. Huge respect for the professionalism and hospitality. Definitely looking forward to coming back. Wish I remembered the bartenders name or I would definitely mention it.

I came here again last night with friends and began to check in for our reservation with the bartender (the same bartender who had let me in the last time I was here). He spent a long time inspecting my CA REAL ID before going into the back. He returned and said he can't let me in since he doesn't trust my ID. He said store policy is that they have to be able to feel the imprint on your license's signature, which even he admitted that he could, but it was too faded so he wouldn't let me in. I showed him matching credit cards, Costco membership, and CA DMV mobile drivers license, but he still refused and pleaded ignorance. He gave me my driver's license back and said I'm lucky because he normally keeps fakes (thanks for the empty threat). In reality, he knew my license was legitimate and didn't want to have the cops called on him. This place really needs to update their policies and train their staff better on how to identify legitimate IDs. I'm definitely not gong to bother coming here again and will make sure I recommend others not to come here.

Service was awesome from start to finish, and the drinks were reasonably priced, which is always a plus. They're dog friendly, which is awesome. Overall, it had a great crowd and an easy, laid-back atmosphere. Definitely a fun spot to hang out.

Bartenders were cool. Nick was our fave though for sure. He made some mean cocktails. Solid liquor selection plus a list of cocktails to choose from. I initially ordered the something and picante (can't remember the full name) and found it to be way too sweet. Then switched to a basic Lalo with soda and lime to cleanse my palette. After tried their version of an espresso martini which was quite good but made with nitro brew and kahlua so a bit on the sweeter side. I ended the night with my fave drink though which was a Hugo spritz and it was perfectly balanced. Definitely will be going back, especially for the love band Sundays. Parking is all street parking.

It can get busy so if you have a large party, I'd recommend making a reservation! - PARKING - This lot can get pretty full depending on the time of day, but at least there are adjacent streets where you can also find additional parking. - SERVICE/ENVIRONMENT - You seat yourself and they'll bring out a few physical menus, although they also have QR codes for the taplist if you don't want to go up to the bar. After ordering, our drinks came almost immediately, and we only had to wait 10 minutes for our food. - FOOD - Fish Sandwich ($6.00 during HH): They've got great happy hour deals, including this fish sandwich! We had plans to eat dinner later so we just wanted something to snack on. The fish was crispy and juicy, and the slaw was pretty good too! - OVERALL - I only remember the last time I had food here (probably 2 years ago) it wasn't too impressive, but after trying this new item, I'm definitely open to coming back for more of the menu!

My husband and I really loved the atmosphere, validating parking was easy, the menu and happy hour options looked great! Great seltzer and cider options as well. Honestly seemed like a it would be a hit. Unfortunately, the excitement was quickly gone. Maybe the staff was overwhelmed by the one large party there, but we were barely acknowledged and didn't receive a welcome or smile from any employee. The service was really underwhelming... We ordered the Thai Brussels to start and were very surprised when they were delivered and were very, very cold. We asked the bartender if they were supposed to be cold and he said "yep" and walked away. This was surprising given that the menu described them as "oven roasted" and it was never mentioned that they are a chilled item. I feel like it's only fair to your customers to let them know if a dish is served cold or warm. I don't recall ever ordering "oven roasted" Brussels sprouts that come almost frozen. The bartender didn't seem concerned that we didn't eat any of them and didn't ask if we wanted anything else. We paid full price and left. I should have said something, but honestly didn't get the vibe that he cared at all about our experience or whether we returned. Sadly we have many other places to go where we know we can receive great service and probably won't return to Common Theory. I hope others have a better experience than we did!
