I'm pretty sure we had the best DJs in San Diego for our wedding. Ryan and Sevy, AKA Glasz Productions, are not just music providers. On the day, they, and Ryan especially (who acts as Master of Ceremonies for the timeline), are warm, welcoming hosts. They have a fantastic system, which is to be expected. I used it for ceremony music, and the lovely sound filled the space wonderfully--and we were outside. But what is even more special is how warmly and genuinely they celebrate the day and connect with guests. Ryan hits the perfect pitch, such that his contribution just flows into the larger timeline of the event. To everyone, it felt like they were our friends, yet clearly so professional. I once attended a wedding where the DJ was good, but so unobtrusive that he couldn't get people's attention for special dances, or even the cake cutting! No worries with Glasz Productions. We worked with Ryan and Sévy for our wedding in April and they were great! Super knowledgeable of our venue, the best timeline and format for the day, and worked seamlessly with our planner. We found and booked Glasz through the Abbey, who we used for catering and additional event planning, so our Abbey planner and Ryan/Sévy had worked together a lot which made the process so smooth throughout. I had a lot of specific music requests for both dinner and dancing and Ryan and Sévy played almost everything from my list which we appreciated so much! Ryan and Sevy are literally the best people you can have involved with your wedding. We met with them early on in our journey, and it was one of the smartest things we did. Talking with them really calmed us down and helped us form a road map to our big day. We opted to take advantage of all the services that Ryan and Sevy offer, which includes the wonderful DJ'ing and Emceeing for the wedding, as well as Month of and Day of Coordination. After our first meeting, Ryan and Sevy sent us a link to a website they use, to figure out what music we'd like at our wedding. This gave us the option to pick up to 100 songs to be played during the event, 50 must plays, 50 maybe plays as well as another option of 50 do not plays just in case. Using it was extremely easy, and with the ability to mark specific songs as "Father Daughter Dance" or "Processional" it was extremely helpful in the planning. On top of their services (which were amazing), they are also very well connected in the wedding industry, and with their help we were introduced to our venue and catering. It was actually a very surreal experience, prior to meeting with Ryan and Sevy, we had been sending out feelers to venues trying to find availabilities for our date, a process that would usually take days to get back a canned "thank you for your interest" message, and yet, one day after meeting with Ryan and Sevy, there was a email sent to our inbox asking us what day worked for us to come look at the venue and figure out a menu. The Month of and Day of Coordination with Sevy and her assistant Allison was amazing. Throughout the month leading up to our wedding Sevy contacted all of our vendors, got all their pertinent contact information, created a master timeline, met with us and our venue to go over the timeline, and finally submitted the master timeline to us, our wedding party, family and all of the vendors. Sevy also scheduled a time to review with us at our home all of our wedding decor so she would know all the details on the big day. This included our seating chart, decor for our tables, sweetheart table, cake cutting utensils, Photo Booth props etc. We felt very confident that Sevy would know exactly how everything should be organized on our wedding day.   She also took the time to make sure that they'd know all of our families details, who's grandma is who's, names and contact info for our bridal party for the day of and pronunciations for anyone's names if there was a unusual spelling. The day of our wedding was perfect. Everything from the weather to the food went as well as anyone could ever dream. It was perfect, thanks in no small part to Sevy's excellent coordination. She and her assistant Allison were everywhere, but never in the way. Handling issues that we were never even aware of. Keeping everyone and everything as close to the timeline as is possible with an event that has so many moving parts. And yet Sevy would still find time to check on us, make sure we had full glasses for speeches, and if we personally needed anything. The music at our ceremony was handled perfectly, all the songs the we selected for the different moments were executed expertly by Ryan. Something that we want to mention was that our ceremony took place in a park without any power, Ryan and Sevy were still able to hook up a speaker system, microphone, and music. The reception was outstanding. Ryan had great attention to detail when it came to introducing us and our wedding party for our reception. The entrances of the bridal party, first dance, mother and son dance, father daughter dance (which featured a tricky switchover from a slow sentimental song to a faster latin dance song) were all done impeccably. In fact we just got back our wedding video and were reminded of the excellent job Ryan did, keeping the guests involved and the party going. He knows how to work the crowd, getting everyone to have fun. He even gave a shout out to our furbabies, our cats. These details made our ceremony and reception very personalized and gave it the special touch that shows that Ryan and Sevy truly care about you as a couple on your wedding day. When we first inquired about DJ services with Glasz, Ryan and Sevy set up a phone conference with us to see what it is we were looking for and to get to know us a bit. When it came time for my fiancé and I to plan our wedding we knew Sevy and Ryan were the people for the job! They are incredibly organized. We communicated through email, skype, and even met at the venue site before the wedding so they could be acclimated to the site prior to the wedding day. My husband and I recently had Ryan and Sevy DJ and EMCEE our wedding last month and it was hands down the best decision we made (except marrying each other of course). Before hiring Ryan and Sevy we met with them at their apartment and got to know each other and little better to make sure we would be a good fit together. They have a rough timeline of how the actual day of the wedding will flow, custom tailoring it to each individual couples needs. For me, the timeline was everything! It helped me so much in making sure I was prepared for the day and helped so much when it came to figuring out where and when we needed to pick specific songs (ex: bridal party entrance, cake cutting, anniversary dance). Their music planning website is incredibly easy to use and I loved that they even have a section on there for songs you don't want played at your event. Also, Ryan made the extra effort to make sure he knew how to correctly pronounce the entire wedding parties names as well as our parents (super important cause how embarrassing would that be). They kept in contact throughout the 8 months or so prior to our wedding making sure we had everything we needed from them. About a month before the big day we had a venue walk-through with Ryan and Sevy as well as our photographer to make sure we were all on the same page. Walking into the meeting I have to admit I was a little nervous (bride brain) but I walked out of that meeting feeling so confident that our wedding was going to go off without a hitch and these two are the reason why! The day of the wedding Ryan and Sevy showed up early and prepared. We had a small mishap with our food and had to change the timeline of our reception a little bit and they were not only so understanding but took charge of making sure everything went smoothly when it could've been a real mess, literally none of our guests had any idea that anything had gone wrong and it's all thanks to these two! My husband just finished up school to become a ASL interpreter and we had quite a few Deaf guests attend our wedding so we had two ASL interpreters and Ryan and Sevy worked great along side them letting them know when key events were about to happen so they were prepared to being interpreting, so awesome!!! It's a year after our wedding, and Ryan and Sevy are still on our minds, so that alone says a lot! We hired them for our wedding at the US Grant in 2015. We met with them a few times before the big day, and we immediately fell in love with them, and their chemistry. Their story is adorable. A good "for instance" that comes to mind is when I was walking to cocktail hour and saw out of the corner of my eye that Sevy was helping our wedding coordinator relocate candles into the reception room for us. She helped out our spectacular wedding coordinator accomplish this task not because it is something emcees do, but because their dedication to making your day special bleeds into everything they do. During our pre-wedding meetings, they immediately picked up on what we were hoping to avoid (picture the cheesy DJ making dad jokes, and then playing the "Macarena"). They nailed our desire to have minimal and elegant announcements, and they were brilliant with playing our "must-play" list throughout the wedding. The day of our wedding, they were there and set up before I arrived. They told me that if I needed help with anything - musical or otherwise - I shouldn't hesitate to ask. That impressed me again! Sevy & Ryan McCarthy, it was an absolute pleasure working with you two. You two did everything necessary to make sure our day ran smoothly and exceeded our expectations. With continuous facetime/skype sessions to make sure everyone was kept in the loop. They made efforts to get to know my wife, myself, and our families so we were able to customize our playlist to our tastes and we felt comfortable with them prior to our special day that they were going to deliver. If you love what you do, you will deliver and they did just that. We received compliments on Ryan, our MC, on how he added a personal touch to our night, as if he knew about everyone in the room. Meanwhile, Sevy was on the turntables catering to the crowd. Furthermore, we were really impressed with a couple of moments we had during the reception where we had to go up to Ryan & Sevy to make some quick last minute audibles to the anniversary dance or the type of songs to play next and they did not show any stress or get frustrated. I'm sure they had a set gameplan, like most DJ's have, on how they were going to run a reception/party so to be open and available to last minute changes and not show any signs of frustration, we are ABSOLUTELY impressed. We recently got married at the Cuvier Club in March and Sevy and Ryan were our DJs. To say that they were awesome is an understatement. From the FaceTime sessions leading up to our wedding to the actual event, they were professional, personable, knowledgeable, and organized. Ryan and Sevy, what can we say about these two other than AMAZING? We honestly thought the DJ is just to play music. We didn't realize how important the DJ is for keeping the wedding itinerary on track! They set a meeting with us, so we could talk about our vision for our ceremony and reception. They helped us figure out when to cut cake, do the first dance, and things we just hadn't even thought about. Their song management software made it so fun and easy to pick exactly what songs needed to be played and which songs absolutely should not be part of our day. Once our big day came they played all of our songs down to the minute and were very thorough in making sure that the music was synchronized perfectly with each part of the ceremony and reception. They are such a great team and bring an enthusiasm that makes you feel like your best man and maid of honor are planning your night. As for cheesy DJ stuff; there was no hint of egging people on to dance or calling people out for not getting on the dance floor. Again, the feeling was that two of your friends were looking out for your guests and doing everything they could do to make attendees feel welcome and comfortable. They also clarified with us that awkward requests that clashed with our vision would be 100% handled tactfully so as not to offend guests and ensure the music they felt didn't work for us would take over the night. Ryan and Sévy are an amazing team and we could not have asked for a better MC and DJ for our wedding! As with most of our wedding vendors, we found them through recommendations from friends and they came with rave reviews. In our initial meeting with Ryan and Sévy, they took detailed notes about the kind of music we like, the wedding party, how to pronounce names, and most importantly they took the time to find out about us: our story and our needs for the ceremony. They helped us plan out a timeline and gave very helpful suggestions about music placement throughout the day. We could tell from the get-go just how personable, organized, and easy to work with they would be. They are great at communicating, always prompt to respond, and were flexible with their schedules whenever we needed to meet in person. When they weren't able to come to our rehearsal due to another event they were working, they made sure to schedule a time prior to our ceremony so that we could do a full walkthrough at the venue. We were so grateful to have Ryan MC-ing our wedding; not only was he incredibly entertaining, but he helped the night move along seamlessly. It was important for us to find an MC who had a great voice and energy. We watched countless videos from other MC/DJ vendors we were considering, but each of them left us feeling like they were personifying salesmen or sports announcers. Ryan was different; you can tell he is genuinely excited to be a part of your special day. The time he takes to get to know details about your wedding party and your event makes each introduction fun and unique, and also lends a personal touch to the whole evening. Sévy was an amazing DJ! She was so fun to work with and really took the time to understand our tastes in music. During the planning process, she sent us home with a huge list of wedding song options for us to listen to and narrow down, which really helped us hone in on what we wanted played during certain parts of the day. She was also able to find sources for some of our more obscure music requests for our ceremony. She took our tastes and requests and built music playlists for cocktail hour, dinner, and the reception dance floor--each was perfect. Whenever we had a break in the whirlwind of getting married and took a minute to listen to the music, we were thoroughly happy with what was playing in the background. Most important, the dance floor stayed packed all night with great music and lights! I don't think we can stress enough how amazing the Glasz Productions duo is for events.
