Dropped by for dinner one evening between Christmas and New Years, when the crowds in Oaxaca were surging. Clearly the staff were stretched to provide attentive service but they were all smiles and the food was really good. The empanadas on the menu were tempting but we opted for pizza and the house wine and were not disappointed.

Hands down to this amazing place. First of all the place is cute, cozy and smells amazing!!! We sat in the back open patio which is very cute and has a romantic lighting set. I ordered a pasta with Chile and to my surprise it was very hot, I asked the waiter if they could put a little extra sauce so that I could finish it but instead the cook came out apologize and informed me she would make me a whole new pasta. Needless to say the pasta was amazing (olive oil, garlic and Chile pasta). We also had the empanadas de calabaza, wine, coffee, tea and the cajeta crapes with ice cream. The ice cream is a must!!!!!! The staff at this place is very attentive and the food is made right when you order it so be a little patient (so worth it) have a drink while you wait :)

Newly remodeled, best place in Oaxaca to listen to cool music, have amazing food and great drinks! Pizzas are individual sized and delicious, the black bean one is a must try! The lasagnas are great too. Try their seasonal drinks (I had the guava-ginger and it was awesome). Keep in mind this is a place to hang out and chill, so take your time, relax, and enjoy! Highly recommended!

Their michelada was a 7/10. I think a bit more lemon juice and having modelo beer available would have made it a 10.

Great Italian food and wine! There was a band playing when I went on a Saturday night. Loved the fetticini pesto!

I thought it was funny when I got the menu and the food menu was only one page while the drink menu was five pages. The outside of the restaurant is blue-ish and the restaurant has multiple rooms. The ceviche del dia ($190 MXN) was a little sweet and not as tart or sour as others I've had. The tacos de sirloin ($170) were really good and were our group's favorite. The taquitos dorados de mole negro ($140) were okay; there was no meat just in case you were wondering. The aguachile rojo de camaron ($190) were good. The esquite con tuetano ($100) was not like a typical corn in a cup but it was closer to a corn soup. For drinks I had the pequeño gigante ($210) which was good. The paloma madura and paloma margarita were both favorites among our group. We went during the day and it wasn't that busy but supposedly it gets way busier and livelier at night.

We were able to get a seat right away and the servers were super helpful. My friend wanted to try some mezcal and they let us taste a couple before choosing. We sat at the restaurant instead of the bar because it was cuter and I wanted food too. I tried two of their fruity mezcal drinks and loved both. I forget the names but one had watermelon, and the other had coconut and lime. I ordered cheese stuffed plantains with mole and this was soooo good. It was very filling too!

David was our tour guide - spoke good English, which was great because we're kinda new to mezcal (my Spanish is passable, but I would've missed a lot). He asked us about the things we liked to drink, and set us each up with 3 tasting glasses. Oh, it was amazing! Our favorite ended with an aftertaste of roses. We shared our little cups, so in all we tasted 12 mezcals (David brought us an extra round). Went back a few nights later, sat in the bar and Olivia mixed us some delicious cocktails, and David brought back samples of the mezcals from the cocktails. Sigh! I'd highly recommend reserving a tasting with David - it was just us, and we had his full attention. He is the most gracious and knowledgeable of hosts, and I feel I was properly introduced to mezcal.

My friend quickly said okay not understanding what had just happened until it hit her that she had shushed her. Many of us were Mexican, others American but we were not about to be support such a place and be treated like that. Super super rude! The servers were nice and respectful though. So- again- don't come here. We weren't even loud but apparently the owner wants a library type of place- lame.

From the moment we arrived, the owner was snotty, dismissive, and completely disrespectful. She immediately assumed that because we were a larger group, we would be unruly -- which was absolutely not the case. We are a group of adults celebrating a milestone birthday, and we expected to be treated with basic courtesy. I wasn't even given the opportunity to try a drink before feeling judged and unwelcome. Instead of hospitality, we were met with rudeness and hostility. There was no effort to communicate calmly or work with us despite the fact that we had planned ahead and made reservations responsibly. I have never been treated the way she treated us. It was embarrassing and disappointing, especially on such a special occasion. Unfortunately, because of this experience, I would not recommend this establishment. No one should be treated the way we were!

The "informative" slash educational piece was maybe 10 minutes of basic knowledge about the production of mezcal. You can then decide between 3, 4, or 5 one-ounce pours of mezcal starting at $550 pesos and increasing from there. I ended up trying four mezcals and honestly didn't love any of them. I think one of my biggest qualms is that they were all warm - not just room temp but like notably warm. I probably would have liked them a lot more had they been a little chilled. Maybe mezcal isn't intended to be cool, so I'm fully acknowledging that this might just be my preference, but I found them nearly unpalatable because of it. They sell the mezcal by the bottle as well but I didn't end up buying anything. Overall I'm glad I tried it, but certainly wouldn't be back, and honestly I think you could easily do a "self led" mezcal tour for cheaper and get just as much out of it.
