The location of this restaurant is spectacular, with an incredible view of Oaxaca. It's also great to find a quiet local place tucked away from the major tourist centers. That's where our enjoyment ended.
I rarely write reviews, let alone bad reviews of local establishments. But the only good thing about our New Year's Eve experience at this restaurant was that it gave us some funny stories about how bad our experience was.
It wasn't particularly crowded, but it still took over an hour to get a beer. We paid for a three course meal, and the first course didn't arrive until 11:30 -- after we complained and asked to be moved to a section with different servers. The main course was delivered at midnight. None of the food was awful but none was particularly good. They seemed to be confused about what beers they have, and I'm not sure they know what wine is. My girlfriend ordered red wine and got a glass grape juice --- that's not a joke, they actually put grape juice in a wine glass and delivered it to our table. The champagne toast wasn't champagne either; it was some sort of fruit liqueur.
If you're looking for a beer and a snack at a local place with a good view, you should stop by this restaurant for a short visit. Otherwise, you should spend your time in any of the many incredible places we discovered in this beautiful city. read more
